  • it impossible for people to understand how large something like this is. you cant comprehend. and yet another season is on us, i come back yearly to remind myself what we deal with down here.

  • I live 2 minutes from Bridge City, TX. Any of you know where that is? Almost wiped that city off the map. everythings lookin up though. I lived in vidor, tx when hurricane rita came through there. seems like for the last 5 years TX/LA has been a target.

  • do you have any pictures of bridge city?

I use to live there as well..and I am co-authoring a book about the devastation to South East Texas and the people who are left behind to deal with the tragedy and pick up there everyday lives and try to start over. I feel the people of this nation should try to understand what exactly its like to go through something like this (not only in the physical sense, but within a family). The responsibilities of a family doesn't stop! Work, school, birthdays...

  • Do people realize they can bring on their deaths more quickly with choosing to go against a powerful hurricane to stay and protect your house. What can you do with a hammer, nails and plywood in the middle of a massive wave coming thru your living room....Cry, and wish you had left...that's it.

  • Lesson # i Katrina,#2 Ike; for anyone stupid enough to decide to ride it out in the path of a hurricane. You too could be one of the bodies unaccounted for when/if /where the next storm hits. They say 3 strikes and you're out.

  • I can destroy these monsters...

and want to make my discovering in practice...

  • this is not god . just nature

  • Thank God Shirley Phelps is going to hell :-)

  • "When the Enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of God will raise a standard against him!" (Isaiah 59:19)

  • Out of all the hellicopter shots, I have seen very little help on the ground for rescue missions. Bodies will be there for months at this rate.

  • it is very terrible what happened! you will succeed and stand up again!

  • This video is NOT of the aftermath, its taken during the day on Friday before the storm came ashore. I found out cabin and got excited until I realized there was no damage, no debris and checked the title screen which explains it was taken before the storm arrived. How disappointing! I thought we still had our cabin! The name needs to be changed to not mislead others! Thanks for posting it!

  • This video is from BEFORE the storm arrived and not the aftermath. I found our cabin and got excited until I realized this was taken Friday during the day before the storm came ashore. This is just the storm surge. Notice no damage, no debris, just water. How disappointing!

  • I got my hopes up from this video because I saw our cabin but then realized this video is not the aftermath of the storm, it was taken on Friday during the day before the storm came ashore. This is just the surge coming in. You will see there is no damage other than the rising water. If you look at other photos of Crystal Beach now, you'll see it looks like a nuclear bomb detonated. Thanks for posting this but the title needs to be changed so it doesn't raise other's hopes!

  • Yea it was pretty bad in Winnie too the water came in past hwy 73 in some areas out east the Double J Arena!! Pipkin ranch and The Flyin J ranch "where I was" got salt water 4ft deep and Johnny Ackel is missing a buckin' bull that was to be Buckin' Bull of the year and had alot cows drown... at 2:30am Sat a tornado came right by Johnny's house.. at 3:00 am the generator went under saltwater... I know a lot of old timers here and some say they have never seen it so bad.... not in their lifetime.

  • you know the storm was bad when two barges wash up and park themselves on the Eastbound lane of hwy 73..

  • I feel so sad for the people who didn't think the water would come in so fast. Several families planned to leave Friday morning and were boxed in by flooding already.

  • The last part appears to be the Kemah Boardwalk area, as the aircraft was returning to Ellington...

  • Much of this is Crystal Beach. I recognize the water tower and toward the end is Bruces medical clinic.

  • I don't think this is actually Crystal Beach, it looks more like Surf Side on the other side of Galveston.
