Ozzy and his greed-whore wife are nothing to me anymore after they pulled this bullshit with the new tracks. So, I will never again consider myself an "Ozzy fan"...but more of a fan of the absolutely incredible bands he managed to put together over the years. Thank you Randy Rhoads!
@Buff99ca I think you'll find most of the lyrics came from Ozzy. He was at a party with Randy, who started to play the first riff. Then the first lyrics of this song just flowed from him. - 'I am Ozzy' Great book :D
@SchecterManiac because in the book infers that he wrote this song with randy when that's not true, he tried to take all the credit for writing this album when it first came out. Ozzy Osborne is a no talent hack who hasn't done anything but sing terribly and ride off the talent of other people. He took credit for black sabbath and creating heavy metal all the while suing his band mates and fucking them out of credit and cash and using his bitch wife as a scapegoat.
@pinkmullet4 wait wait wait you say I Am Ozzy is a great book, yet you also say you hate Ozzy? and if you hate him so much, why are you here? just to be a douchebag? where are you getting these notions of Ozzy taking all the credit for albums, bands, and genres? who did he sue other than Tony?
@SchecterManiac You never heard about Ozzy re-releasing a terrible remaster of this album so that he never had to pay the original band members anything and then taking their names off of the credits of the remaster? he has said in multiple interviews that he wrote this song and others from this album with randy when he didn't. I'm here because I'm a big fan of Randy Rhoads, Bob Daisly and Lee Kerslake, the people who WROTE THE ALBUM, and also because you responded to my 4 month old comment.
@pinkmullet4 no I heard about the remaster, but to me it sounds almost exactly the same. plus, in the booklet for the remastered CD, it shows the original album information. why does it matter how old your comment is?
We'll agree to disagree. Ozzy never wrote lyrics in Black Sabbath (Geezer did) and he didn't as a solo artist either (Bob Daisley wrote them up until No More Tears).
No Bob did not write anything but the bass lines The song main riff was an early quiet riot song from Randy Rhoads! It was written about Bon Scott! Hell yea! However I personally believe he said get the guns out, now he says get the flaps out reffereing to female vulva! out of character for the song!
@jimbob9242 you are Mistaken...Bob wrote all the lyrics to this song except for the line 'wine is fine but whiskys quicker'...Ozzy said he wrote it about Bon Scott but he didn't actually write it at all. In fact Bob wrote pretty much ALL the lyrics on Ozzys first two albums.
@dlux06 I believe Ozzy wrote "Wine is fine but whiskey's quicker, suicide is slow with liquor" at a party, and then forgot about it. Randy remembered it later and told Bob, who wrote Suicide Solution.
@chiaromontestephen Nope, actually he committed suicide because of underlying depression that he had for years before this song. The song MAY have been the trigger, but it wasn't BECAUSE of this song that he killed himself.
@jsr121689 , Hi, I believe that I read that Ozzy and Sharon are buckling to the outcry of the new versions and will re-release the originals in November . Lets hope and see.
If I where Ozzy I would have payed Bob and Lee what they rightfully deserved instead of being cheap and screwing the fans over. I'm not saying Rob and Mike aren't good just not good enough and to do something like this is just a low shot.
"Suicide Solution" is a song by Ozzy Osbourne. It is track five on the album Blizzard of Ozz released in 1980. Guitarist Randy track five on the album Blizzard of Ozz released in 1980. Guitarist Randy Rhoads wrote the riff to the song (he had previously used the riff on the Quiet Riot track "Force of Habit"), and Bob Daisley wrote the lyrics. Ozzy Osbourne supposedly released this track as a tribute to Bon Scott of AC/DC who died of alcohol abuse. .[1]
@Buff99ca no it's about Bon Scott (AC/DC's real first singer), one of Ozzy's good friends, who basically drunk himself to death in 1980. Died by choking on his own puke.
@rockfreak611 It is not about Bon Scott. Bob did indeed write it about Ozzy drinking himself to death. Bob wrote 99.9 percent of the lyrics to this song. Ozzy came up with the first line.
Am I sure? Absolutely. I asked the man who wrote the lyrics himself, Bob Daisley. He's on Facebook and will gladly share if you want. He's also coming out with a book this year that will talk about his tumultuous time dealing with Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne
