I don't think Hunter knows, or wants to know, that Africa is still being told not to touch its oil and coal reserves. The only way we can get 6.5 billion people to use renweable resources and have a middle-income is expanding the use of cheap electricity and coal.

Peak price in one year??? That was in 2007, in 2009 lowest price for a barrel in decades...

@pfredericrobert it is an extraordinary statement that is repeated by environmentalists that has been proven false year after year. we need to raise the stakes on false statements, if a member of the intelligentsia continues to make false statements that are not backed up by history or economic data they should be subject to higher taxes. if a bridge falls down the engineer loses his job, if an intellectual promotes a falsehood the cost is nil.

if you had sarbanes oxley for intellectuals they wouldnt be able to make false assertions without being put behind bars. The assertion that we will hit peak oil over 2 years ago was false, misleading and furthermore absurd.
