I would like to know how it mutates the DNA as well!!!??? I have heard this and that is causes cancer and that the russians prevented their people forming owning and using them as well because that they knew the detrimental effects of cooking.. But where is the evidence!???
Only difference between microwave and stove is that in microwave oven food itself is heat source while stove source is fire. There is higher chance to get burned food from fire because temperature is spread unevenly.
This guy obviously knows nothing about health. You should never use a microwave for reasons this person doesnt even touch. Microwaving food denatures it and mutates the dna of your food cells. I suggest doing a lot more research than this if you're wondering if microwaves are safe or not. There is nothing safe whatsoever about using a microwave. They have been banned in other contries. They cause cancer. Do your homework.
I started watching this with the opinion that it was just another piece of propaganda from the food nazis. But you pointed out some very good misconception and brought them to light.
Your explanation of how a microwave works is kinda brief and assumes a lot of things, but other then that, this is a thorough and informative.
You should meet my mother if you think that microwaves can't put a crust on food. She has had potatoes come out of the microwave literally in flames.
Informative video. I always thought that food cooking from the inside out was a myth, and that food in a microwave cooked things regularly, from the surface to the inside.
@0wenSlattery Well, it depends on how you define "inside". Some people think it's the center, but on very large pieces of foods the waves will never get there.
I looked up the microwave safe symbol and it seems to be a different one then the symbol you showed in your video. It looks like a dish with five horizontal waves above it, the symbol on your plastic container indicates that the container is safe to come in contact with food but is not necessarily safe to use in a microwave.
I've read the MWOs are dangerous not only because of bad plastic dishes. There are studies, microwaves interfere with the protein on a molecular level and change it's structure in a bad way. So, it's not dangerous to heat water in MWO, but it's not healthy to use it for cooking protein-containing food (meat, milk, oats, etc.etc). In Germany I've seen a sign on the babyfood jars (glass jars, not plastic ones): don't heat in microwave. So, maybe it's worth digging into the subject a little more.
@Geistero If you have links to these studies, please send them to me, because I looked up and down for peer-reviewed research showing this and found none.
The symbol on the baby food jars is to make people aware that while a glass jar can still be totally cold to the touch, its contents can be very hot. This is because there is nothing for the microwaves to interact with in the glass and they pass right through.
Some people weren't aware of this and fed their babies practically boiling food.
Great Video, great phone! :P Found the part funny when you explained that microwaves harm nutrients less than regular ovens. Jesus how many times have I discussed this with relatives/friends... ;)
This was a topic I really was curious about! Thanks a lot for your time to prepare this video! Have a nice day Evilcyber. :)) Btw I also have an HTC great phone. :)
Who else searched this while waiting for their microwaved food to heat up?

But they are not ecological and economical.

@aprillindseymoon It "mutates" the DNA? Why don't you explain how that happens?

@aprillindseymoon Not true!

Well done. However, I've read you're better off not using plastic in the microwave at all. Read about BPA.

@estacey2004 You are right, they are a bunch of open questions about BPA.

Why does most food prepared or heated in a microwave taste so much worse than when prepared by any form of external heat?
When I microwave food, it comes out without much taste, as if the microwave somehow made the flavor go away.
zuiprax 8 months ago
@zuiprax Not really lol.. If anything it'll be a bit dry, but throw some water on it nd should be good.
