Etta James was pissed at her for having the gall to Impersonate her (a Blues Artist) and then get her PR people to Milk the movie relentlessly as if it was Her latest "creation". The movie is about the Original Chicago Bluesmen and Women. Not BK's Career Advancement. It seems to have done more for her than she has ever done for The Great Etta, and more than any of her pop-pap records. A very Ambitious woman.

saw this yesterday.

movie was better than expected.

the makers did try to rewrite rock history and paint a picture of Leonard Chess as a nice guy. this is pure BS.

LC ripped off every artist on the chess label and put them pretty much in the poor house.

most of the musical performances were pretty darn good.

the weakest link was Beyonce. whom can't act and can barely sing. she can't even hold a note in pitch without vibrato.

luckily the movie shows little of her.

It's based on a true story so they can't edit out white characters but I do know what you mean. Personally, I don't mind as long as the movie stays true to all the characters and portray them accurately and give them the screen time they deserve.
