There are times when there is justification for going to war, but there was no justification for the war in Iraq. The Bush administration manipulated evidence and the media to falsely convince everyone that we needed to invade Iraq, and they ignored options to avoid an invasion. They wanted war no matter what and caused, unimaginable to you, death, destruction, and suffering. An impeachment might have brought out the truths. Go tell the dead Iraqis and US soldiers why they needed to die.

You need to look at the "evidence" presented to the Congress, which few in Congress actually read, but which was manipulated by the Bush Administration to make speculation appear as fact, and which denied the overwhelming existence of contrary argument. Bush wanted to go to war no matter what, including no matter what evidence. Bush and his man on a leash, George Tenet, drew smoke where there was no fire, and yelled fire, but if you want to impeach your congressman for same, more power to you.

Does it matter if it was biased? Even if evidence seemed shakey, shouldn't it be the responsibility of congress to be more observant? As far as intelligence failures go, they happen throughout American history. Are you going to impeach the president every time they happen? I don't argue against you about Congress's behavior, but you really need to get informed about how things transpired. The book I cite is a good place to go. PBS's Frontline site has some easy shows to watch. This was not just bad intel!!! This was deception and coercion on high.

The intel didn't need to be accurate, it just needed to be convenient, and if it wasn't convenient, then it was discarded, or transformed. For the Bush presidency, the buck not only didn't stop there, the lies didn't either.

Congress approved support for the war. Bush initiated it. The way the intel system is setup in this case, Congress was only privy to intel provided by, and most importantly, worded by the executive branch. The Constitution says impeachment for high crimes and misdemeanors. If pushing our whole nation into an unjustified invasion of another nation through the manipulation of evidence and the manipulation of the media is not a high crime, then we are not a free nation protected from tyranny.
