@countryboyG speaker wires of your subwoofer or speaker wires of your actual speakers? you can to eather but if you do it to just speakers you wont have much power at all and it will hit high notes and they will flutter very awkwardly
@Hav0K923 i was thinking speakers i do have a sub and amp in my car but im pushing like 1200 watts though my sub lol wouldnt that be like.. alot? and if i do it b4 the amp into the rcas wouldnt that be the same as the speakers?
@xXLindz88Xx "flex led" i think was the company name. im pretty sure you can find them in stores any autozone, advance auto parts, walmart, etc. that's the 3 places i have seen them in the area that I live in
@12music4life1 its a pulse box, basically its a switch with a microphone with a sensitivity slider that you can adjust to pick up the amount of volume. personally i hate the pulse box and id rather run the lights right off my amplifier but i dont want to start a fire lol
@TheDiscipleOfHell you put them under the dash wherever it is flat, its generally double stick tape that holds them up its kind of self explanitory if you know what youre looking at. i really need to make a video for that.... and the pulse box installs wherever it just needs to be grounded and powered either off of your battery or out of your fuse box like i have it. where you mount it is completely up to you.
@Skookrider11 yeah the double stick tape doesnt always work, mine have fallen off before, you can use other means of sticking it up such as super glue or other double stick tapes. make sure you clean off any oil with rubbing alcohol prior to putting the strip on
I sent you a video response to this video of yours as I did the same thing, sorry for the crappiness of my video though, I was using a webcam and the laptop had froze up a little bit causing the mess up at the end of the video
@Rickyog2009 damn you even did electroluminescent wiring? impressive. i put led's in my vents too since this video, pretty nice touch. do you have yours pulsing off of your subwoofer amplifier?
@Hav0K923 no, I actually have a music interface and I have it located near the subwoofers, but I wouldn't connect them directly to my amplifier, specially since Im about to put a Rockford Fosgate T1500.1BDCP in my car, I want as little distortion as possible. plus, I find it safer to not have them directly connected to an amp because of all the amps and watts being pushed out, it can cause a shorter lifespan on the neons
@Rickyog2009 wait so do you have your interface wired to a seperate toggle? because id find it annoying to go in the trunk every time lol. im soon going to have an alpine mrp m-500 for me 12' alpine type e sub might get another one soon im undecided lol
@Hav0K923 yup, I have my neons at a constant pulsing setup with the music interface and I have toggle switch just below the dashboard on the driver side so I can easily turn them on or off when I please. Currently I have 2 xxx xbx-1200 setup, but Im replacing it with that amp and 2 12" DB Drive K512D2 750W RMS subwoofers.
@Rickyog2009 i used to have them off the amp, i asked someone at a sound specalizing store near me and they said if they can handle ac current it should be fine so im going to look into it all. i loved them when i used to have them off my amp, fluttered perfectly with the bass
@Hav0K923 oohhh ok, yea I got most of mine off ebay. but the good quality kinds. Specially for the EL Wires. what I might do is do a small test and connect up some of my old LED strips to my current amp, and raise the volume up and see if it will work fine, even at high volumes. If they do work, I might take out my music interface and connect it straight up to the amp.
@Rickyog2009 yeah i almost did EL wire but i dont have the patience to do that, im content with my floor/vents and a bangin' sound system. plus its a hyundai elantra, lets be real now lol. i mean i have MANY other mods since this video but still. and thats what i did i tested the ones in my vent off the amp. i changed all the lights off because i smelt burning and i assumed it was that because of the high wattage
@Rickyog2009 this video they are off the music interface, i never made one of them off the amp. and currently they are off an interface but i keep them solid, the pulsing picks up noise through a mic its highly off from the bass. but believe me when i say it was sexy as hell off the amp. i heard it cuts the life of the leds a lot but im unsure if thats true. i want to research it more and then go back off my amp.
@Hav0K923 yea pretty much how I got it setup for mine too. Im iffy on connecting them to the amp because LED strips aren't that cheap. Ive seen people do it before on systems that aren't very powerful but never with a high powered amp. Plus I think there would have to be a need for resistors for it to work properly without damaging the LEDs
@Rickyog2009 i mean my currnet 300 watts or future 500 watts rms isnt a huge load of power compared to your like 1500 rms hahaha so i mean you'd have to be careful with it. and yeah thats what i was thinking, i need to look into it more i loveeeeed it when i pulsed them off of the amp it was a perfect light show
@Hav0K923 yea I'm sure however, even with your setup, I think if you turn the volume up high enough, you could still blow your LEDs because the LEDs [to what I can recall] have a continuous power rating of 12V at 6W. which I think is way below 300W or 500W so I think that you still might need some resistors. What kind exactly? idk. Im not an electrical engineer. lol
@Rickyog2009 neither am i haha but also thats DC theyre running the amp puts out AC to drive the sub. and the company is "Flex LED" im pretty sure i bought them at auto zone its nothing fancy haha
@Hav0K923 well still, AC and DC have very little difference. DC is more consistant and AC alternates, but I'm just saying that these LEDs could burn up or burn out from the excessive wattage and amperage coming from the amp
@619obp well the back of my seats have a plastic cover for like a net thing to put stuff in and on the bottom it was flat and i used the double stick tape to put the strip there and then i ran the wire under the seat and up under the side of the floor cover to under the steering wheel. and yeah it should be fine i dont see why that would affect it at all. be careful though make sure that when you move the seat the wires wont get pinched or youll have to run new ones and its quite annoying
@AirsoftMike999 i used to have mine installed directly into my bass, they were really hot whenever i used them so i dont think a resistor would hurt, but that also hurts the power output of your amplifier.
as far as a subwoofer goes, that is a speaker that specifically only plays bass. some higher end cars come with them stock, other have them installed as aftermarket in the trunk. so odds are if you cant find it, you dont have one.
@albertogalvan13 well you need 4 led strips (i got mine at auto zone for $20 for a pack of 2 18 inch strips, making it $40 plus tax for the lights) and then you also need a street glow music interface which you can get online for about $30-$40. the wiring and mounting isnt too hard, you just go under the side pannels on your floor which usually are clipped on pretty easily.
cant you just wire the led positive and negative wires to the pos and neg speaker wires?

do i need a resistor? or can i install it directly into my bass?

how much did it cost allotgether and whered you buy them form?
rawamukk 7 months ago
@rawamukk well now i have them in the vents too, so ill just give you an itemized list of everything youll need and an approximate cost.
2 packs of 14 inch led strips (autozone) - $20 each
1 pack of square led's (small enough to go in a vent) (autozone) - $20
enough wire to reach every strip to under the steering wheel where you will hide them - can find at home depot
streetglow pulse box (can get online) - $35
zip ties
basic knowledge about wiring and circuits
Hav0K923 7 months ago
personally though i only keep them on solid, the pulsing is not perfect to the music and it annoys me too much to use the option.
