There would have been no D-Day and Germany would fight a war on a single front, not 3.There would have been no strategic bombing of German armament factories, the Luftwaffe would still have been effective. USSR would be alone.

@dpeasant3 My point was about the USA. If Hitler had not declared war on the USA unnecessarily, the USA would not have entered the war. It's quite possible that, had they no, Britain would have lost the Battle of the Atlantic and been forced to come to terms with Germany. There would have been no D-Day and Germany would fight a war on a single front, not 3.There would have been no strategic bombing of German armament factories, the Luftwaffe would still have been effective. USSR would be alone.

@dpeasant3 That's not to say that the USSR would not have beaten Germany alone, after all they did 80% of the fighting. But it wouldn't have been an inevitable victory. Who knows what would have happened, but the war wouldn't have ended in 1945.

@themainproblem The Wehrmacht wasn't always...'a fine' fighting force; I'm not saying anything bad about individual Germans, who may have been gentlemen, but serriously in 'Hitler's Heer' they were just 'tools' or an 'instrument' for an evil end; even some Wehrmacht commited war crimes. Nor were they 'superior' to any other nations soldier. Rather the victories they did attain early in the war could be attributed to tactical mistakes by the Allies.
And sorry...I dislike the taste of 'craut'.

It took quite a bit of time for US equipment in great quantities to reach Russia, but tby then, the Soviets already had the upper hand. The Soviets losses were horrendous.I'm a proud American and glad the Soviets defeated Nazi Germany.
It is interesting to research the battle of the Titans- the Soviet-German War.

These 60 excellent divisions pushed the Germans back about 200 miles(320KM) west and almost collapse the German army. So much of the German Army was destroyed, they could no longer launch a 2000 mile wide front for their summer42 offensive. So much was mentioned about US help, however, by Dec41, the US sent enough equipment for ONE Soviet devision-by this time, over 100 Soviet divisions were destroyed, yet, they hung on, Stalin was assured by Japan they will not do anything to them in the east,.

The Germans made a big mistake taking on the Soviet Union-much was said about Hitler interfering with the Armies, however, it still was not certain the Soviets would've quit regardless of Hitler-the Soviets were too big. The only way to defeat the Soviets is if Japan invaded Siberia and in turn pinning down about 70 crack Soviet Divisions As it stood, Japan and Soviets were nueutral during the Russo-German War. In Nov41, Stalin sent 60 of the crack Siberian divisons west.

@9451924 While Gameidiction is far off with his version of history you too need to study up on your history a bit. specifically your ww1 history, for it was not the Americans who destroyed Germany in ww1, even after America joined the war it remained a stale mate. By the time America entered the war it had become impossible for either side to win through military victories, each side was just trying to cripple the enemy to the point where they had no more men to recruit and few men left to fight

Without the Americans D-Day would never be possible , and in 1945 your spitfires had to take on ME-262 jet fighers , oh and in late 1945 London would have been a wasteland. You know how many supplies the British got from the American? Without the help of the Americans , Germany would have won WW2. I know the history , because i studied it. 73.000 Americans took part in Operation Overlord. Almost half the entire landingforce.

@EdgarEmigholz My friend,you're partly right.American supplies did pull Britain through in the beginning of WWll and supplied huge amounts of supplies during the war.The ME-262,awesome aircraft.It had speed but not good in dogfights because it couldn't make close in turns to maneuver behind enemy aircraft and only flew 30mins.Many were shot down as they were landing.However,it was NO.1 bomber interceptor.Germany never,never would have won WWll,no matter what.We would have dropped the A-BOMB.

The Poles did charge German infantry with horses (and won), and after the battle the Germans brought some journalists to the battlefield, two of them were Italian, it was one of these Italian journalists who saw the Polish bodies with their lances and the panzers (which had arrived after the battle), and wrote news story about how the brave Poles had charged tanks with horses. Complete fiction.

@EdgarEmigholz No, they didn't. That myth is the result of Nazi propaganda. Many armies around the world, including the US, USSR and Germany still used cavalry units. The propaganda itself stemmed from Polish recon cavalry units being ambushed by German tanks.
But hey, if you want to believe in Nazi propaganda, that's fine too.
