some of them are cool; I can't lump them all into that pool of ugly behavior. I think its very much a male geek culture that judges people on how they 'fit in'. Part of it is the belief that the long hours involved there is a need for everyone to be comfortable with another. That can be a recipe for discrimination too.

Mmmm, whirled peas and animated tattoos. In a way, it's hard to believe that the game industry is that way. Like, you would think the creative, artistic side of things would breed diversity. Then again, the software industry (and high tech in general)is kind of the same way.

yeah, games is a bit of a synthesis of tech and art. I think the tech side is valued over the art side. But one of the great game innovators was trans, something that I guess is lost.
