He had congenital heart disease. I heard from my family (he's my cousin) that his heart was bigger than it should be and he strained it too much. or something to that effect.

@FitnessByMatt Actually, the footage found me. I was going through my footage of the competitors arriving without even thinking I was going to use it when Anthony appeared. It was like seeing a ghost and it gave me the piece I needed to complete the tribute.

these guys take diuretics and they dont know how to take them. in fact they dont even need them to get dry. i was in the npc - have taken diuretics - have seen even amatuer woman take them -one was sent to the hospital by taking to much. if your blood is thick from anabolics already and then you alter your mineral level with diuretics- and drop a bunch of water - your asking for trouble. you cant just refill on water and be fine. once the heart cramps yer dead lol lol ha ha- get it

If you have a heart condition you should not take steroids. Arnold didn't developed a heart condition after taking roids, he was diagnosed with it early in his life.

you also have the death of joe baggs of staten island at the last olympia. my friend and trianing partner leon brown was thier sad stuff. riods is a drug, and anything other than food you are puting in your body is a risk. even arnald developed heart problems later on. i had open heart surgery as a kid, i am terrified to death to take them

Roids have been directly linked to under maybe 5 deaths. Try watching the bio bigger, stronger, faster. Not much support for roids actually killing people.

My friend aged 26 died 2 months ago - he was heavy into roids - just died in his sleep. Lots of yougn young guys have died due to roids. Anyone saying its not the case is an utter stupid idiot!

Autopsy show it had something to do with his heart. The problem there is not a lot of research into steroid abuse because it offers no benefit to the general public. Research studies are generally money driven. But look at the stats of young men who have died and their autopsy. You would find most died die to some heart complication. Dont ask me what the effects roids has on the hear muscles. But do your research and you would find many young guys who lift have died suddenly.

That was the worst day of my life, to everyone else you may have lost "another competitor", maybe a friend or maybe just someone you admired but "ME" I lost the best thing to ever happen to me my best friend and boyfriend. Blame it on what you want, and if that can justify any questions or beliefs you have so be it...but you didn't know him, nor did you live with him. He's is loved and missed more than anything in the world.

are you serious... so i guess those synthetic drugs do no harm to the body right??? first off i have 2 uncles and several family friends with MD's. second, i have personal experience with friends who have suffered from the effects of steriods. one of my friends was competing for mr. miami. 2 weeks out he went ot the hospital and they told him he was less than 2 hours from his body just shutting down. i have also done numerous research on the subject because i once was tempted to use it.

Bodybuilding is a great sport! However, some guys can take their passion to the extreme. Like any sport, some will do anything to win. I think some bodybuilders have moved the sport from being a healthy lifestyle to something risky and freakish. Really, who has the "perfect" physique? No one. You make the most of what you are given, and you do your best.
