This "New" keyboard is fantastic, very well designed! The piano sample is great, and I love how the transposer buttons are easy to find. The styles (Performance) are even better than any Yamaha, but I wished that this keybaord offered intros, endings and breaks. I want one of these keyboards as it is the best of Yamaha. This person is a great keyboard player!

Great review, very much like to know ,when you added drums at the end, do they follow as you play or are you following them? Makes a big diference as if you are following them its too mechanical and I wouldnt use them. Going to get this on trial soon. Thanks

Sound reminds a bit of the typical Korg workstation sound I think (not a bad thing!). I own the Triton.

Hi! really!!?? I'd like to buy one so all the comms are welcome! it seems to be the same engine inside...but it may be different cause the speakers that are used and I've been told the XS was more"powerfull" than the MOX...that could explain your feelings!

At 11.30 You could hear that kalimba patch which he overdubbed clipping on its sustain/decay. As I found with my M06, with only 64 poly to play with you'll find with anything more than simple patches (and those with voices with short sustains) used in sequencer overdubs, its ability is quickly overreached.

I bought one today and i cant give you an exact response but i know that you can connect the MOX by USB to the computer. He brings the original cd of the cubase program to connect directly and you can record it directly to that program,

by wath i know it is simply awsome. i can give you a better feedback latter.

Can anybody on Earth tell me, does the MOX6 has a USB Audio Recorder function? I can't find this information anywhere. All search results only about USB Audio Interface. But I need possibility to record on USB Flash Drive my compositions in Audio (not MIDI) WAV file.

This guy is an incredible player and give a very informative demo here. I might buy one if he could give me a full tutorial in person. That's probably the only way I could learn to use this thing. The sounds are great and it has some nifty features, but for me the learning curve is too steep to really get the most out of it.

This new mox6 is very good for its price BUT I think it's about time that YAMAHA come up with a real analog synthesizer. I do miss the good old analog sounds and I hate soft synths !

@LogiForce86 Right on bro! I don't speak Japanese but I love watching his demo in japanese... I spent a little over 3 hours with the 88 key version in Guitar Center and WOW this thing really blew my mind. I haven't got advance to play with a tyros but from what I've heard they sound really good. I would say go for the 88 Key MOX8 and don't look back lol..but thats just me.

@LogiForce86 Funny thing is I can't find any good Tyros demos on You Tube. All the good demos are for the lesser keyboards like the MOX. As a result I would rather just stick with the MOX6.

this is the cheaper version of the XS. I owned MO6, which was the cheaper version of Motif ES. Very poor sounds compared to Motif, whic is just priced as 2x....

Poor sounds compared to the motif?! Do you have ANY idea what you're talking about? The sound engine and the sounds are IDENTICAL (MO-ES, MOX-XF). LOL. The keyboard itself is built cheaper, which is expected considering the price range. But once again - the sound quality and the sounds themselves - are identical

@rickashake Nope. Waveforms are identical, but all around is mostly cheaper. Check out poliphony for example...and please, play both XS6 and MOX6 on the same monitors. If you don't have any troubles with your ears, you'll notice a strong difference!

Remember that people said "MO6 was a light version of Motif ES", but a keyboard doesn't cost the half because it has a smaller lcd display on...

Less polyphony doesn't make the keyboard sound different :) I owned the ES, and I still have the MO - there's apsolutly no difference when it comes to sound itself. Yes - the keyboard is cheaper built, but you can't expect a keyboard half the price of the motif to be exactly the same :) Don't mix up "cheap" sound with cheap build material

I owned both ES6 and MO6 and, believe me, on most sounds difference was HUGE! Classic guitar of After 1984 plays similar, but difference raised up with more complex sounds, like a Full Grand (maybe layered with strings or other), which is a very severe test, due to high detail/nuance of piano waveforms, and, this time, Motif makes difference... ;-)

Mr. Ujiie, this is a great demo. It is nice to watch someone play each patch, and not just flick through the sounds. However, I wish Yamaha would release great synths like the An1x, EX5, or the DX7 again, and not just repackage the same AWM technology year after year.
