This is"Il Silenzio"an extended version of an ancient Italian military theme, played every evening, in short form, in Italian barracks as signal to turn off the lights in the dormitory . It's played in the extended version in commemoration ceremonies and is named "Il Silenzio fuori ordinanza" and is part of a strong military traditional Italian theme. The version played by Nini Rosso is the extended version that is "Il Silenzio fuori ordinanza" simply titled "Il Silenzio" for commercialreasons
found music today that is taps transposed for tuba (which is what i play) i printed it and am going to play it for my band director tomorrow so excited even though its 7 measures and a pick up measure
After the Seven Days Battle in July, 1862, General Dan Butterfield and bugler Oliver Wilcox Norton reworked a bugle call known as “Scott Tattoo” to create “Taps.”
I have been playing taps for over 20 years and have never heard it played like this before. It made me tear up. "Young lady, your a star and an angel all in one". I loved it.

@XmasAsn .... This is NOT taps. It is Il Selenzio written and made famous by Nini Rosso in 1965.

Incredible...I teared up. My seven year old ran in my office and said "mama, she is sooo good." We sat and listened together.
