@maulman100 "Jordan got the ball in a great postion because they KNEW how to move the ball." I completely agreed bro. The Bulls team relied on/believed in MJ that whenever a teammate sees him open, he gotta pass the ball to MJ.The next thing is MJ either nailing a jumper, driving and finishing the basket or creating a play. Also his ability to create an open chance is simply mindboggling. It's sad no teams today show this type movements and trust. They think in your face style is the shit.
let me set the fuking record straight... lebron is no where compared to Jordan... Kobe is the only one close to jordan and thats it kobe has 5 rings lebron has 0 look at kobe stats and awards thats tells it too... bottom line
LeBron is more like Pippen than he is Jordan. Just look at his game. He's a more physically dominating version of Scottie. Jordan was a killer on the court. LeBron doesn't have that same mentality.
@eyenar Bulls were 30-52 that year...He scores 63 points in a DOUBLE OT game! Majority of the points were against who?...YOU GUESSED IT...Danny "No Defense" Ainge! The same Danny Ainge he torched during the 93 playoffs! Try again!
@eyenar Also that Celtics defense gave up 104ppg! In contrast the 2010-2011 Celtics gave up 91.1 ppg! That Celtics team was a very good offensive team...NOT a great defense in the least! Over the years MJ fans would make you believe the defenses Jordan scored his points against in the 80s were the best and THEY WERE NOT! No one played great TEAM defense back then. Those Celtics were just as bad on defense as the '05 Raptors who gave up 104ppg as well. Food for thought
@SmokeO The overall ppg scorin is for every player, there were more efficient players back then & better team ball which is y its like that. But when u compare the individual wing players, In Jordan's time it was harder for wing players to dominate, which is y guys like Phil Jackson, Larry Brown, Doc Rivers, etc have said Jordan would avg 40-50ppg in today's game. Y do u think wing players r the better scorers in the league compared to Jordan's time the best scorers were the big man?
So no one going to point out the obvious? Jordan scored 42 points on an AWFUL defender in Dan Majerle (imagine Kyle Korver guarding D-Wade w/out help defense) and a passive aggressive interior defense. How many fast break points and layups did this Suns team give up in this series, let alone this game?...pathetic
@SmokeO Dan Majerle was a great defender u idiot, he was on the defensive team in 91 & 93. He was known for his D. Jordan got guarded by Dennis Johnson & at times Bird in that game when he dropped 63. DJ is one of the best perimeter defenders ever & Bird was good on D as well. Yes they did play D back then u moron. Jordan played in the most physical era with handcheckin & no D 3 in the key.
@hangtime23ful Number #1, Kobe Bryant made 1st team ALL NBA this year and he wasnt in the top 10 in SG defensive efficiency. All NBA teams hold NO WAIT with me. Watch the film and judge for yourself if said player is a great defender. Majerle is not playing good defense in this game. Hell you mentioned hand checking and he;s not even doing that! He's playing 5 feet off of Jordan every play.
@hangtime23ful In the 63 point game...40 of those points are on Ainge. WATCH THE GAME, its on Youtube! Ainge was the starting 2G and wore #44! Dennis Johnson came off the bench and rarely guarded Jordan. Ainge = AWFUL defender, no length, no athleticism, barely touched him, went underneath EVERY screen. Yeh that was great defense.
@hangtime23ful You claim Jordan played in the most physical era of basketball which may be true. But every team nor player played as tough as the Pistons. Jordan is NOT and would NEVER score 40-50ppg in todays ball because #1 the amount of possessions are not there. #2 Defensive schemes are far and away more superior and #3 players are more athletic and longer. But be serious with yourself 40-50 ppg in today's game...get serious...lol
@SmokeO Majerle is playin 5 feet away cuz he & the rest of the guys that guraded Jordan were afraid of his drive to the basket. Dude i'm a suns fan & Majerle was a great defender, of course ur not gonna look like it if u have to guard Jordan for 6 str8 games. Man u just don't get it do u. If someone (like Jordan) is so great at gettin seperation & can score in a lotta ways of course ur not gonna look like u played good defense, getta clue idiot. Jordan made the defense look silly.
@hangtime23ful and all the idiots and moron you called me is childish. So I will NOT be responding to you anymore. You clearly know nothing about basketball and you didnt even watch the clips that are a click away. You need to watch the clip above and watch how awful Majerle is playing, count the amount of easy fastbreak points MJ is getting, count the amount of times Jordan is fouled hard in this so called tough ball era. Then watch the 63 point game and watch #44 get abused with no help.
@SmokeO Yeah & u need to watch the entire game. U can't base it off of just this vid cuz they're only showin his makes & not his misses at all. I understand u mentionin Kobe's overrated all nba teams but that doesn't mean its overrated for everybody. Also i think u need to watch the entire 63 pt game. He was guarded by DJ & at times Bird. We all know the famous double between the legs crossover on Bird in that game. Great scorers will make u look like ur not playin D when u really r.
@SmokeO & btw i don't think Jordan would avg 40-50 in today's game but long time coaches have said that so i used that as an example to tell u that ppl today believe the defense isn't the same as it once was nor the physical play.
I'm SICK of the MJ - Kobe, Lebron comparison! No one (!) can ever be better than, not even near or equal as Michael Jordan!!! He is the one and only best player who ever set foot on a basketball court! Put this in your sparrow brains!
@LaochWins you probably have not watched his carreer.Or you are stupid...MJ was selfish in the 80s because his team mates were not worthy. When he finally had good team mates, he would switch on only when necessary.
@LaochWins Here's some numbers for ya: 6 assists per game in the Finals, 6 assists per game in the playoffs, 5.3 in the regular season. His 63 point game... 6 assists and 5 rebounds. His 69 point game... 6 assists and 18 rebounds. And in something like 11 of his 14 seasons he shot better from the field than his teammates. Kobe? No. Jordan had the ball in his hands perhaps more than any other player in history, and DESERVERDLY so; it was the best chance for a win.
@LaochWins by the way, the "showboating ballhog" averaged 11.4 assists per game in the 91 Finals. In the 86-87 season he averaged forty points per game in the team's WINS and thirty four in the team's LOSSES. The 85-86 Bulls were 9 wins, 9 losses with Jordan playing and 21 wins, 43 losses without him. What does that tell you?
@Hypebusta I'm choosing to believe LaochWins is just high, because if he actually bothered to watch the video, there were some amazing assists by Jordan.
kobe, will never be like Mj. Mj played with his team brought the best out of them. The only one that might come close to jordan status might be lebron.
@boguslife ur right an mj wil never be like kobe lets stop fucking comparing them id take eitehr one of them im pretty sure u would do fuckin alright.
@boguslife Are you kidding me? You can also say that MJ will never be like Magic because he didn't bring the best out of his teammates as well as Magic. And you'd be right
@boguslife Lebron needs to develop a midrange game. MJ (and Kobe for that matter) could score from anywhere on the court, not just the paint and the three point line like Lebron.
The best player in the world once again shows his greatness..and with this second straight Bulls victory in Phoenix, the Suns were as good as dead having to go back to raucous Chicago Stadium for the next three..or so it seemed..
i was always suspicious about Kevin Johnsons play in this series..it was something fishy going on witht hat guy because he just wasnt the same player i'd been seeing...almost look like he was point shaving or something..he had one good game in gme 3, but he was invisible for the rest..back in those dayz, he was arguably the best pg in the league at getting to the basket..it was just strange seeing him play so weak
Rockets wouldn't of had Home Court in 1994. You're assuming the Bulls would of still only won 55 games with Jordan. I'd say they'd of been in the mid 60's and of had the Home Court
Vernon Maxwell did not give MJ problems. Jordan averaged 32 ppg on 51% shooting against him from 1990-1996. Not sure where this myth comes from, but I've heard it before. Jordan did have one very poor game in 1992 vs. Houston, but several of Jordan's misses were from Hakeem's 8 blocks (and intimidation), not Maxwell's D. Again, 32 ppg/51% FG over 5 seasons (about 8-9 meetings iirc).
that myth started in Houston about Maxwell being the only player to hold MJ under 30 points which is not true. i know about the 48 points on him in 1996 which Stackhouse took most of the damage, but im talking about a prime MJ against Maxwell when he was with the Rockets. I was 1 of the few hardcore MJ fans from Houston that got picked on by Rockets fans. Id hate it when the Rockets beat the Bulls. not to get anything twisted, all im saying is that would be MJ's toughest title to win.
9:13 is what MJ could do that others could not, getting 20 - 30 inches off the ground for a jumpshot. between 84-93 i dont know how many times he's gone for a jumpshot and lifted and hung high enough to adjust his shot if he needed to. i still say the shot he made in San Antonio in 93 was a prime example.
i think bulls beat rockets in 6. with jordan, pippen, grant, cartwright, paxon and kokoc. all 4 pippen, jordan, grant and kokoc wouldve been still in prime.
im a hardcore MJ fan from Houston, born in 1980 ive watched alot of NBA. there's no way the Bulls would beat the Rockets in 6. of course MJ is the GOAT, miles ahead of everyone, but as far as his team against the Rockets with the Greatest center to ever play, that would have gone 7 games. the Rockets were a great team that could not get anywhere in the playoffs mainly because of the Sonics, but they were the best team that could play the Bulls man to man. the Rockets were 5-1 on them in 91-93.
but do i think MJ's team would beat the Rockets? yep! it would have been MJ's hardest title to win ever. Vernon Maxwell gave MJ problems. I myself know alot about MJ and i know Maxwells name is not mentioned alot like others. i can only imagine what its like having a trash-talking, 3pt shooting, hot tempered, go up to the 9th row to punch a fan for talking trash, quick moving crack addict like Maxwell guarding you. And Bill Cartwright stoping Dream, not happening, but i still say MJ could do it.
Yeah that would've been a super tough series. Nobody on the Rockets could guard MJ, and nobody on the Bulls could guard Hakeem. Guess the X factor would be Scottie.
No way do the Rockets beat the Bulls in '94. Hakeem/Jordan is a wash (let's assume best case scenario for Hakeem), and then Grant/Thorpe are a wash. Then who is Pippen's equal on Houston? Who is even close? Nobody. Plus throw in Paxson/BJ plus championship chemistry and battle-testedness and it's Bulls in 6, MAYBE 7. Rockets have about a 10-15% chance of winning that series in 1994. 1995 is a different story, however, if Grant still leaves, due to the addition of Drexler.

im a hardcore MJ fan from Houston, born in 1980 ive watched alot of NBA. there's no way the Bulls would beat the Rockets in 6. of course MJ is the GOAT, miles ahead of everyone, but as far as his team against the Rockets with the Greatest center to ever play, that would have gone 7 games. the Rockets were a great team that could not get anywhere in the playoffs mainly because of the Sonics, but they were the best team that could play the Bulls man to man. the Rockets were 5-1 on them in 91-93.

but do i think MJ's team would beat the Rockets? yep! it would have been MJ's hardest title to win ever.

Rockets would have had homecourt. I'd say Rockets in a close 7 game series
Jordan would have put up superb numbers though

No way do the Rockets beat the Bulls in '94. Hakeem/Jordan is a wash (let's assume best case scenario for Hakeem), and then Grant/Thorpe are a wash. Then who is Pippen's equal on Houston? Who is even close? Nobody. Plus throw in Paxson/BJ plus championship chemistry and battle-testedness and it's Bulls in 6, MAYBE 7. Rockets have about a 10-15% chance of winning that series in 1994. 1995 is a different story, however, if Grant still leaves, due to the addition of Drexler.
