  • could you imagine if Collin had a lucid dream? He would go insane in the dream!

  • Becky rockin the bike tube head band from a video actually published after this one.... Haha.

  • Great music

  • This guy is great. Funny. Interesting. Keeps you watching. :D

  • LOL I thought about the cup thing before they annouced it in the video. I was like dont do it that way Colin you are gonna forget some pieces. Then Becky came over and I was like "thats what I said". HA

  • Collin's Lab is Great! Make More!

  • Everybody's got a better way... cool video. I'm guessing that music track was produced by your Midi Vox arduino shield kit? Hopefully you put it on Makershed because I've been waiting to use my GC... for something new and cool.

  • good one keep it up !!

  • Why not just make anti-static cups to send them away in?

  • Smart is sexy. Becky is smart.

    Great video!

    Bill

  • What does the kit make?

  • ya i wanna know... too... :3

  • When handeling Electronic componets, Electro-static precotions must be taken. Chips, transister, regulators and MosFets to name some of the more sesitive Parts. The Table should be grounded, and The person should be also. The Transfur of parts should only touch the grounded table/person or the Static Bags or the original paking materal. If the Cups were made of Anti Static Plastic,Glass or matalic then all parts would be safe From Electro static discharge!

  • @H2O2FromH20 That's pretty crap advice. I've been working with motherboards, processors and generally static-sensitive devices for over 10 years and not one of them has broken because of static electricity.

I even tried it on purpose once.

  • its a shame you seem educated yet, you can't spell

  • "transistor", MOSFET, MOS-FET, or MOS FET

It's not all l that big a deal for simple passives and most components are not going to be killed. I do recommend some paper cups if your worried about.ESD .

  • I agree!

  • Really? Why wouldn't you just line up the bags like that and do it the same way, or maybe open the bag and make a mini "trash can" with the cups, or maybe not waste my time with a video like this again? I think anyone over the age of 8 could figure that out, without having big nose Becky teach them how. I'm sorry that was mean. but your video was stupid. Most of them are good, but this one was a waste.

  • Cool! Where can I get one of these?

  • there a lot of non-careful handling of delicate electronic parts here i see, im second guessing future purchases for the maker's shed

  • I just have to say: Becky still make my geek-crush meter go off the scale :) And, great idea with the cups

  • @neothespian

Yep, Becky is the bomb. Smart is sexy :)

  • Pretty smart

  • If you have ever filled out pill boxes that carry a weeks' worth of pills you will know that once you are adding more than a couple pills it is hard to see whether you have missed adding a pill or added too many.

  • Is there risk of electrostatic discharge from the cups ?

  • @Protostack yup

  • What video editing program does he use?

  • hahaha nice vid :D

  • I like Collin's videos.

  • collin is cool more collin plz

  • Nice cardigan, Collin. You look good all casual. :-)

  • 2 words Beer/Soda and Pizza. Hire your friends. Scary how much work can be done paying friends with food and beer/soda.

  • LOL don;t worry Clean up is just as easy as catching a ball in a cup :)-

  • the silence stripping makes it awful to listen to this video, but whatever. I'm very curious about your kit! What does it do?

  • Collin works exactly the same way I do... >.>

  • Farm it out and let it be someone else's task. That way you can spend your valuable time on your next money-making idea.

  • LOL what does it do ?

midi-vox ??? is it a small signal generator of sorts ?

  • its an Arduino-based MIDI synthesizer

  • Having done kitting (From an IT perspective where an order would generate a list of parts to be pulled) I know one other method.

Use muffin tins or even egg cartons to hold massed of an individual part. Then just pick from each part container and into a bag it goes. Much easier that way.

  • i would have done it item by item

1 part to every bag.. next part to every bag

  • MIDIVOX?

Is it some sort of voice synthesizer?

  • Collin's my favorite Maker

  • cute vid but what was the point? Today's project "using common sense" lol

  • lol

but it seems kinda stupid to put 'em in bags before you accutaraly sold them...

or is it just me? what if you only sell 3 kits?

  • it was great seeing becky in Collin's video- kind of like a special guest star or Wonder Woman appearing in a Batman comic

  • Thanks for the tips. I just put together my first magic set. Not as daunting though.

  • he is just the cutest and a great idea

  • welcome to the wonderful world of the electronics

    assembly line

  • "(all you have to do is catch the ball in the cup ;)"LOL!!

  • Rather interesting.

I don't know what it is about this guy, hes so odd but I just can't stop listening to him.

  • That plastic cup thing was actually a good idea. I constantly get lost in where I'm at when dealing with a large amount of things to do

  • all you have to do is catch the ball in the cup ;)

  • open a sweat shop lol jk cup idea awsome

  • 500 more to diy

  • Oooo!

    whats the kit do?

  • for that method you may as well build a wooden grid stand for the bags and remove the cups from the matter entirely. but cups are a quick solution.

  • so you would clip the bags open on the grid? The cups are also easier to look into to verify if you've put in the correct amount of stuff.

  • oh you were responding to someone else. nm carry on.

  • true

  • they look good together

  • All that extra time wasted dropping one of each of the same part into a plastic cup then having to scoop them back out into a plastic bag. That's Double handling !! Unless one of each part where placed within the cup then tipping straight into the bag would be the smartest way !! or placing a bag into each cup to keep them open while dropping one of each part would of skinned 10 to 15min of wasted time of having to pour them from the cup. :)

  • @eazyone23... you said "Unless one of each part where placed within the cup then tipping straight into the bag would be the smartest way !!"

WTF do you think he just did?

    *Palms Face*

  • Would have

    Would have

    Would have

  • The secret cup trick. Very clever!

  • always a pleasure

  • What your pcb manufacture and do they enable online pcb request where every thing is online and you get your pcbs in like a week. Like you just send your design through the net and pay?

  • it sucks more if 4 parts are missing xD

  • Colin and Becky - You are beautiful! xD

  • It's more efficient to build an assembly line. Put each part in a separate cup (capacitor in cup A, diode in cup B,...etc) and work each model down the line.

  • cool

  • what was the kit?

  • WIN!

  • reach for the skies firsdt guys!

  • I've done this, you can get pretty paranoid about missing a part in some of the kits...

  • I'm paranoid, too! I actually weighed each bag for the ScrewShield kits on a tiny 200g scale. This was accurate enough to make it obvious when I'd missed a part, or doubled one up.
