@ :20, I can hear a loud pitch air-suction sound... is that normal? I just went stage 2 this morning and did everything myself. The sound scares me a little because I think something is loose or leaking :(
DUDE it is supposed to sound that way that suction sound is the turbo pulling in air thru the intake no harm jsut a much more vicious sound to scare away hondas and ricers
We have an 07 sti, we have a SPT on ours, and i hear a air-suction sound also, i'm assuming that it's the intake, but it's a guessing game, the car will be extremely loud if there is a true exhaust leak, but double checking the tightens of the bolts never hurts.
I'm sure it was an exhaust leak because the inside of my cabin sounded like the engine was sitting in my passenger seat. I'm sure that's what it was because I ended up reusing the old stock gaskets and I know that could get you in trouble with it's 50/50 re'use'ability. I took it off for now but will install everything after my warranty is up :P Thanks for the feedback Owebaby11
Hey man, i have an 08 wrx and purchased in 01-08 and waited forever for spt to release the cat back. I ended up forgetting about it. Now i see the price has went up dramatically. I found a magnaflow cat back for 530, but would rather have the spt. I wonder if all dealerships are still offering the original price?
Same thing happend here. I checked with the dealership and online and it was under $400 bucks last summer, then i waited one week for a paycheck, and called in to order one and it was $700. I paid $650 for my magnaflow and It was well worth it. I like it way better than the SPT exhust..
Stage 2 is great for a couple months, but then you will be wanting a bigger turbo. Stage 2 is awesome on the street, spools very quickly but once you get into the higher rpms you can really tell how small the turbo is.
I was thinking about a FP green or a STI turbo. I know these are completly different trubos, but it depends on how much money I want to put into this car. The FP green would cost alot more while the STI turbo wouldn't cost too much.
sounds fantastic. how do you get such good gas mileage? i get like 19 . you drive alot of highway?

I don't see a CEL, did you get it tuned? Any boost creep issues going catless?

LGT DP?

yeah, it is a megan racing catless Legacy gt downpipe.

Any fitment issues mating with the SPT?
sunnylotto 3 years ago
The SPT mated up really well to the downpipe. However, you are unable to use the donut gasket, you have to use a standard flat gasket.

@ 0:20, I hear a swheeeeeet! I know it's your turbo, but is it the downpipe that's making it spool that loud? I LOVE IT.
ejicon 3 years ago
Yes it is the catless downpipe that makes it spool that loud. On my legacy gt, I went with a catted downpipe and it doesn't sound like this.

How are the stage 2 power gains? You have great taste.. I've been looking at the same setup for some time now.
