  • Crows are probably the most intelligent animals on earth!

Apes and parrots can learn how to imitate their leader, but crows can invent.

I've got some crows in my wineyard. They're not domesticated, so usually they keep about 10ft of "security distance" to humans. But they know me (i think as a friend) the security distance to me is less then 2ft.

  • P.s. You can find out if they see you as a friend:

When they hide a nut (or anything like that) and You see them doing this (of corse they know when they are not alone!) then go to the hiding place and spot the nut, BUT DON'T TAKE IT!! The crow will certainly watch your behavior. Then it will come back and see if the nut is still there.

IF IT TAKES THE NUT TO HIDE IT ON ANOTHER PLACE, YOU'RE NOT IT'S FRIEND!

And if You repeat this some times, the crow will learn that You're not an enemy!

  • I, for one, feather our welcoming crow-verlords.

  • Impossibru! My god tells me animals don't reason but they act on instinct and only humens reasons because we got the souls!

  • @Zimx02 Wrong.

  • So if someone calls you bird brain, take it as a compliment!!

  • very interesting .. ive always found crows neat and interesting aswell. awesome

  • Forget robots and Skynet taking over the world!!

  • The crow in this video is much smarter than all the stupid comments on here.

  • @binbashLinuxAhole including yours ;p

  • @binbashLinuxAhole you got that right mate smarter than most all the comments you will read on YTube probably read more books too.

  • @binbashLinuxAhole Yes, crows comprehend language.

  • I wanna play a game....

  • love this!... i love amazing facts and this just proved how intelligent our feathered friends are

  • Birds are just wonderful. They're the most underrated creatures, so smart and beautiful!

  • This narrator has a weird accent. Sounds like Count Dracula's bride or something.

  • And this is one of the reasons I like crows. They're bright and inquisitive.

  • No explicit training my ass!

  • @JessusLovesDinasaurs Actually, it could be true; crows can put any fox in shame anytime.

  • 6 people aren't as smart as betty the crow.

  • What a smart little cookie!

  • Go Betty :)

  • BETTY IS A LITTLE BRAINIAC ISNT SHE

  • I bet a group of 10 blondes wouldn't be able to figure it out and would wind up suggesting to call their boyfriends

  • I would have died of starvation ))

  • More intelligent than the average Yahwist

  • clearly satan had had taken control over that bird to fool humans

  • fake

  • Oh black Betty bambalam!

  • so much for skynet

  • @1989yassir cool story bro

  • @1989yassir this proves that Mohammed was a good bullshitter.

  • @Airazz pointless comment. proves you're an idiot.

  • @shariotoflove Yea, because only smart people believe in magic...

  • @Airazz who said anything about magic lol.

  • @shariotoflove the muslim dude did.

  • @Airazz no he didnt actually, in fact he told Muslims to stay away from it, regardless of whether it's real or not, because there is a lot of scamming involved in it for example.

  • @shariotoflove Stay away from what? Intelligent animals?

  • @1989yassir Brother, please explain the verse a bit better. its regarding Cain killing Abel, and the crow showing Cain what to do with his brothers corpse, hence scratching the floor meaning to bury the dead. not that this has ANYTHING to do with this video of a TRAINED animal in a highly controlled environment.

  • I'm sorry, killed crows from my air rifle.

  • @jurijjful Then stop doing it. Not just 'cause it sucks -- they now want you dead, too. :v

  • "caught on camera". it's in a fucking lab, where they study the bird.

question is, how many times did it take til they got this footage?

and no training? you want to tell me this bird GUESSED there was food in that last tube? no, it knew there was food in it, because it's not the first time they do this experiment on it.

so bottem line is, "crow *easly* trained to use 3 tools to get food", that is what we actully see here.

  • @eyallev they do this in the wild too, without training. google is your friend.

  • @Nutto666 they do this in the wild ..... as a cheek? on the first day out of the egg? or afew a few weeks? after a few trails and errors? after seeing other bird do it? that's called training.

use your brain too, it's also your friend. (ok, ok, forget that last line, it's a rolling thing to say).

btw, when you say "google is your friend", would be nice if you'd give a few key words you want me to use to look for, other wise, I might not find the articel you are refeering to.

  • @eyallev A human baby couldn't do this in first try either..

  • @eyallev Wrong, I have personally seen a new bird who has never been tested in a lab know how to get food out of tubes so this is not "what we actually see here".

  • I like the way these birds have their wings set in such a way like hands clasped behind their back as if in judgement or reflection: " Hmmm yes ".

  • KRAHHH KRAHHH im a horse KRAHHH KRAHHH

  • wait what?

  • Be humble, humans are no greater than the rest

  • More intelligent than some people I know.

  • This is absolutely amazing!

  • and people say the things animals do are just instinct...I call shananigins.

  • @Shiftt88 it is instinct. fool, it's the birds instinct to learn to get food

  • Uh oh, next thing we know they will evolve into pokemon and star spitting fire and what not XD

  • Unbelievably awesome!

  • You DO know birds have their own language don't you? Just saying.

  • Not Bad

  • I expect when the alien probe lands looking for intelligent life, it'll either report back about us, or the crows. I think the crows will probably find it first. They pay attention to things, and people usually don't.

  • I for one welcome our feathry overlords

  • @Panopticon51 May the dark crystal rule over all!

  • @Panopticon51 Behold the beginning of the Arakkoas!

In case you are not aware of mythology, they are or were humanoid birds.

  • Moonlanding.

  • Aliens.

  • curiosity and intelligence eneables crows to perform this task. but allways remember, it won´t work, if there is another, easier food sorce aviable!

  • I love how this video is about a smart bird, yet the comments are about Iraq, 911 and conspiracy.

  • @ArfJason

The human race is dominantly morons and perverts. It shouldn't be too surprising.

  • @ArfJason ahahaha

  • @ArfJason Because the crows are behind it. Wake up sheeple!

  • @ArfJason MOST OF THE TIME ITS VENOMOUS ANTI AMERICANISM

BUT IF YOU BELEIVE THE SHIT YOU HEAR ON TV ABOUT 911 YOU NEED YOUR HEAD CHECKED; WATCH LOOSE CHANGE

  • @poosaypirate The point is, who gives a shit.

  • @poosaypirate lol another fuckin dumbass american. shut up twerp, get ur headchecked, watch... my cunt

  • @jaminson533 OH ; LOOK; IT HAS A SISTER!

    (Sister profile that is !)

  • @poosaypirate (raises eyebrow) what are u on about u tiny little man?

  • @ArfJason that's because they are retarded

  • @ArfJason In other words, turkeys commenting on a crow.

  • This is a bird video, shut the fuck up all you insane fuckers. Holy fuck. It's an awesome bird. Just......... fuck.

  • Comment removed

  • i love them when they bring nuts and put them under car's wheel and wait untill u crack'em :-)

  • I love how they feed people with the crap like "no explicit training". So the bird stoped and though - mmm, I see the hole is too long for me to reach with this tool so there MUST be a storage tube with a longer tool, that's how world works! And the bird turns around, gets the longer stick and uses it. Yea, sure.

  • @MuF123 yes.. it did.. that the whole point!

  • @IMAHMS also those talking parrots can understand human languages, right? :)

  • @MuF123 How is problem solving and understanding complex languages the same thing?

Why are you so convinced that this bird couldn't do this by itself? Are there animals that you do believe can do this? If so, why them and not this bird?

  • @whutuppp why is learning language different than learning these sticks? parrots can talk but they just make sounds, they don't understand the words.

btw look at those super intelligent birds that let cars run over nuts to crack them. do you think the bird know how much does a car weight if it could crack the nut? or is it just that one bird accidentaly dropped the nut and got the nut cracked and others copied this steps? drop nut, wait car, eat nut. wait for "fetch", bring stick, eat treat

  • @MuF123 actually, they can understand to some extent.. I have a talking parrot, it calls me by what my name so that i come and feed it.. you know, if you are ignorant about something go learn. don't think that you know it all.

  • @MuF123 Aww whats a matter, do the scary thinking birds scare you. Unfortunately for you, like I said to someone else on here, they have run labs like this at my uni and I have seen birds who have never been in a lab perform feats like this. This one was particularly quick so maybe *this one* does have some experience. But the one I watched had none, looked at the tubes and the available equipment and after a mnute or so did what was needed first time with no mistakes.

  • @wyterabitt "I have seen birds who have never been in a lab perform feats like this" if this is really true that's all I've been waiting to hear as relevant argument ;)

  • @MuF123 not my discussion, but I just wanna add /watch?v=m8zCmj6z8VQ if you've never seen it before. it shows a wild crow crafting a neat little hook to fish for larva.

  • Amazing creatures.

  • the crow can cook better than me

  • That bird cheated... her blindfold fell off

  • Guys, we are still watching a video of a bird right?

  • If you think 9/11 was a government job, you are either insane or an idiot, or both.

  • Fucking bird's smarter than I am.

    And crows did 9/11.

And they stole my car. Fuckers.

  • haha wow how did the comments on this video become so insane? intellligent crows are awesome! Trying to get somebody to become an atheist via youtube comments is a waste of time!

  • BIRD USES THINGS TO GET FOOD. ILLUMINATI DID IT

  • @jvemPiRe14 lol wtf, i was watching your videos awhile ago then i random typed smart animals and came here and here you are again

  • @superuglyman888 haha completely forgot about this viddie too.

  • no wonder swain is a tactician lol CROWS ARE DAM SMART

  • Now i need esurance against crow thief´s also :s

    another expence noorh !

  • jesus christ. is this just one crow? or can most crows do this. Breed the shit out of that bird

  • A video about a crow using tools on the upper side and a huge intellectual flamewar on the lower side... W00t?

  • This is the way the world ends.

  • no explicit training?

    says who

  • @chillbman

I'm also kinda doubting this 'no explicit training' statement. The qualifier in the middle makes it sound like they did train the bird and just have a convenient definition for 'explicit' that they use to cover it up.

  • Everyone seems to be forgetting about crow god.

  • Like a boss.

  • Smart crow.

  • the guys from yogscast would have used TNT...

  • @S0M3K1ND0FCRAZY I gave you an up vote because you are made of awesome cakes.

  • wat

  • But my dog can sit.

  • This crow shall be our new leader!

  • that crows got more brains then all the senate combined.

  • I love this stuff.. animals are incredibly intelligent. I especially loved the one where the crow (I think also Betty) bends the wire to retrieve the food. That is just genius, especially for a crow with no fingers to help them! :-)

  • omg that bird is smart. It's an ancestor of the Chozo! - lol

  • You can teach a dog to do that.

  • @MrRazorblade999 They didn't have to teach the crow to do this.....and please, train your dog to do this and post the video. That would be awesome.

  • @medicinalsnowball I can't but a dog trainer could probably do it.

  • @MrRazorblade999 That's why she says "with no explicit training" in the end...

  • @derFreiBierFred1 I strongly doubt it.

  • @MrRazorblade999 why would a scientist fake an experiment like that?

  • @derFreiBierFred1 Maybe you're right. It's just seem unlikely that a crow would be capable of such thing.

  • @MrRazorblade999 that's what this video is all about. Crows are amongst the most intelligent animals on earth, they use tools, use car traffic to crack nuts etc. It's just not well known and researched yet.

  • Humans are not animals.

  • @5060northernmama Humans are animals - mammals. unless you believe that god created human and not evolved from Monkeys - Darwin :P

  • @vLeggy Humans didn't evolve from monkeys. They evolved from an ancestral specie of apes. Humans share this ancestor with most other apes. Infact, humans are apes by definition. Monkeys are something completely different.

  • I never thought that crows could be so cool.

  • I swear, I wouldn't of managed to figure all that out so quickly.

  • sixteen months ago i was kidnapped and sodomized by a murder of crows. they laughed at me as they took their turns, cackling and cawing as i was abused. when they finally let me go they told me that if i went to the police they would find my family and poo on there cars,ALOT. every now and then i see one out in public, on a fence, or in a parking lot and they give me a knowing look as if theyre saying, yeah, remember me, i stuck my pecker in you. it was the most tramatic experience ive ever had.

  • Dinosaurs didn't all die, many of them turned into birds. Those are actually super-evolved dinos with millions of extra years of intelligence evolution on you :)

  • @evolnemesis1 shame they havent figured out how to stop the dreaded BB.

  • There's no such thing as "most highly evolved." Science has shown that the basic decision making, planning, and social-emotional systems are very similar between all mammals. What we now know is that birds, also, have these systems but evolved differently so that these same architectures are located in a different part of the brain.

  • 5 people disliked this because the crow has a higher IQ than they do

  • She has been trained for years actually. This experiment puts together many of the bits that she has previously learned.

  • @silfidecontemporanea Your sources for this? Or are you just another youtuber acting like they have intelligence.

"these birds had previously practised one part of the sequence: retrieving stick tools with their beaks and using the tool to get a treat" One part, getting a stick and getting the food. Not the entire sequence or getting longer tools.

  • i wonder if the crow sometimes feels like Chell from Portal

  • @TakGenius New Caledonian crows all the way! And yes next we will give it a portal gun and it will solve puzzles in seconds.

  • @TakGenius biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiird! killitkillitkillitkillit

  • @TakGenius the worm is a lie

  • The first non-human animal that was OBSERVED by humans, to do this. EXTREMELY important difference. (Except for extremist egomaniacs.)

  • love crows...wish I could get to know some.

  • Smarter than sheryl CROW

  • One day that bird will take over the world ...

  • @StyrbjornStarke I LOL'D

  • truly amazing. Maybe crows will replace us as the dominate species after we kill ourselves off over which god to worship.

  • @Dudeamis - exactly

  • @Dudeamis And crows seem a bit too smart to invent gods for themselves, unlike humans!

  • @MegaGayjesus

Sorry to break it to ya, edgy kid, but inventing gods takes imagination, not intelligence/lack of thereof.

  • @kurije My point is that gods are human inventions, and it is a smart thing not to invent them in the first place.

  • @MegaGayjesus

I'm afraid you fail at psychology, terribly. I suggest you brush up on origins of metaphysics and religion past "GODZ ARE EVUL".

  • @kurije Thanks for your "advice" but I will just keep up my attacks on the ignorance of religions.

  • @MegaGayjesus

Should an ignorant attack ignorance? Pot, kettle.

  • @kurije What is an "Ignorant" ? And, secondly, what do you think I am ignorant of ?

  • @kurije

Inventing gods take intelligence and imagination, forgetting you invented them in the first place is the stupid part.

  • @christae44

You also prove to know nothing about origins of metaphysics. It's not "invention", not even remotely.

  • @MegaGayjesus I think Crows know god better than you do!

the same way they knew someone places these sticks in the tubes if you are folowing me!

  • @yazan2911 Which of the gods do crows know?

  • @Dudeamis Really, bro? Really?

  • @804ram Uh, yeah.

  • @804ram I'm not your bro

  • @Dudeamis I guess we'll never know.
