  • The 360 and PS3 versions are MUCH MUCH better! The speed is even faster, the night and day levels are evened out, the night levels are actually fun and 2 levels where they were too lazy to include in the wii version

  • there's your first problem with this game, dude: you got the WII version! i have the PS2 version, and i love how it's controled. i love the night stages cause it does something different! is it bad to try something different?! no! is it hurting sonic or SEGA: yes, cause you guys do see the big picture! it's not a bad game! grant it, it's not the best either, but it's is not the worst game sonic was in.

  • It's a shame, there hasn't really been a great Sonic game since Adventure 2 Battle, most have something good, but more bad than good

  • i had the Wii version .. Until i saw the 360/ps3 version, the wii version took no skill whats so ever.. the part where you have to press a random set of buttons sucked because its pretty much the same pattern each time. and i thought it was just way to slow.. the 360/ps3 version takes ALOT of skill depending on how u play it, especially the werehog stages. u can unlock ALOT of new moves for him. day time stages feel alot faster then the wii version and it just feels more intensed.

  • I honestally don't have a problem with the Were-Hog Stages...

  • well technacly it is a ps2 port to the wii

  • Why do I feel like I'm the only person in the world to actually like the Werehog stages?

  • @MrLuizilla your not alone

  • @MrLuizilla i like the wherehog stages

  • if a sonic game had unleashed graphics and colors everything else it would be awesome.

  • What did he imitate at 8:01 ?

  • the PS3 version (the one i have) actually lets you explore those towns and villages and other such nonsense

  • i actually have fun with the werehog and hub worlds don't bother me 2 much. what bothers me R the loading screens and(as U said) there is far more werehoog than daytime.

btw i know a werehog with stretchy arms is weird bit think about it: do U really think a blue supersonic hedgehog is more normal?

    hmm stretchy arms...ristar anyone?

  • the ps3 version is better

  • i think sega took the streatchy arms from one of there genisis games, ristar.

  • The Xbox 360 version doesn't seem that bad somehow now...

  • I love this game for daytime . To me Sonic I hope you this. Simple Story Dr Eggman is being evil . Sonic goes through zones and acts fast like Unleashed . No Friends or anybody .Tails just to fill plot but dont play with him . Dont turn into anything or go to places just to find a course just a map place. A Sound Test. Cool Bosses. Good Controls and great gameplay

  • 5:53 Zelda, eat your heart out.

  • I played it with the gamecube controller

  • I watched a walkthrough of this game and I loved the music, but the talking to ppl made me soo bored.

  • The Were Hog was actually inspired by Ristar...and the Sonic games were originally supposed to play like the Were Hog stages...

  • that was five word

  • @FireBallFilms1 "and" is not counted.

  • @cjszero01 are you going to review sonic generations

  • Yet another awesome and hilarious review! Good job dude! =)

I only have the 360 version of this game and I really enjoyed it. Im thinking of getting this version. The only things that I don't think i'll like is the town parts and the motion controlls (Horay for Gamecube controller). You made me want to get this game and I will make sure I do some day. Thanks! =)

  • If this weren't a sonic game, I would like the werehog stages!

  • I have the PS3 version and it look totally different it's like are 2 different games aside from the story.

  • @chaosmonkey79 If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything faggot.

Failing Troll mispelled faggot. Troll Fail.

  • @chaosmonkey79 no because ur hating on cjszero01 that makes u gay, cjszero01 is awesome bitch

  • @chaosmonkey79 wow ur gay

  • @BnNPRODUCTIONS1 dude, that's HIS opinion trough this game!

  • @chaosmonkey79 Oh you didn't even insult his mother. You fail as a troll. If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say it.

  • i love this game kuz sonic is so kickass in this game cuz he can turn into a werehog

  • @chaosmonkey79

    wow youre such an asshole

  • @ssbbrocks1 Yes. The graphics get a huge boost, the werehog combat gets upgraded, and the final boss is great. And it is well worth the the price now. It used to cost $50 bucks. But at your local Gamestop store, you can now get it for $20 bucks. You should at least rent in.

  • the game is actually more difficult and fun for the 360 it's actually considered the official version there's more depth to combat better puzzles and actual towns

  • i should say man i really like your reviews because you exposed most of the game without sacrifice the main history of the game keep going man you rock XD

  • @chaosmonkey79 You're very close to being blocked, that is your only warning.

  • @chaosmonkey79 From the way you've been acting I don't think I'll check out that video.

  • @cjszero01 Hey i got to say. Great review. I cracked up at the more lawsuits that Disney land could ever avoid. I just picked up this game a few days ago for my ps2 and its so fun. I was wondering if your next top ten video could be your top 10 (or 5) zelda items in your opinion. Great review, Great channel you have, and you have a great taste in gaming.

  • @chaosmonkey79 I have to play through and beat the main game before I can do a review of it.

  • After playing this game all I can say is "THANK GOD SONIC COLORS WAS MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • lol the warehog looks like he's based more on Ristar more than a werewolf with those arms!

I also agree with your score :)

  • why do you hate the werehog stages? I mean I respect your opinon but why? later It does get challenging and more fun.the biggest thing that bothers me is that everyone thinks that werewolves are unorginal but how many times has it been used ...3 other times?

  • I dont know why but I love all the werehog stages and I only like a few day stages

  • i totally agree the wii werehog stages were very dry but i played on my xbox 360 and found the werehog stages to be much more entertaining and that might be because of console game diference all the consoles cant just have the same version of the game they always hv to change it a lot and usally the nintendo wii gets stuck with the worst version.

  • tired arms?

just shake your wrist and when they tell you do something fancy like swing or jump instead use little strong movement(everyone nowadays plays like that and i hope the kinect will allow it since for now you have to jump and u can't make things easy)

  • Congrats on getting that honor with this review! You deserved it. Tell the truth, I've never played the Wii version of this game, but I do have the XBox 360 version. After playing Sonic Colors, I can imagine it's essentially the same thing, right? =D

  • I actually really like the Werehog levels. I don't mean I just tolerate them. I mean, I really enjoy them. To me, they're just as much fun to go back and replay as the daytime levels are, and I especially like trying to get really good times and to find shortcuts.

I really don't like how everyone doesn't like the werehog levels...but I agree with you about how to respect everyone's opinions...

But I did like the review...as I always like yours. :D

  • Wow! You were very fair in doing your review. All your complaints were valid.

  • Great review. Sonic has been wall jumping and ground stomping for a while now. SOnic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes..... And although, the rubber arms look stupid, the game play would be unbearable without them

  • Are you going to review Sonic Colors?

  • @SkyMaro Already did, you can find it in my playlist for reviews. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. :)

  • @cjszero01 To me, the xbox and ps3 versions are the best.

  • Wacky wavy inflatable arm flailing werehog, wacky wavy inflatable arm flailing werehog, wacky wavy inflatable arm flailing werehog!!!!!!!!

  • So in other words, Lucky Charms also gets a 4/5: A couple of flaws, but overall a good game- I mean cereal.

  • in my opinion it took whats good about sonic games and made it better, i love fiteing games

  • You forgot the freaking music that plays every single time you started a fight in the nightime levels...

Sonic unleashed without Werehog = Sonic Colors!

  • @LiSo412 :D!

  • I think the xbox version had better nightime stages, while the wii had better daytime stages. That or I suck at the daytime stages.

  • the 360 version is bette rin my opinoin why cause I LOVED walking around the hub's they were so beeautiful i loved it all

  • @cjszero01 Great review! I thought you acting silly where you make a Tiger reference was very funny! XD Do you like Sonic Adventure 2 Battle or Sonic Unleashed more?

  • @BigBossMan538 HOW COULD YOU EVEN ASK, NEW SONIC GAMES SUCK!!

  • @SantaFishes101 Well, he gave both a 4/5. Just wondering. Cheez.

  • @BigBossMan538 Well I can't really answer that just yet because I want to do a list of my 5 favorite Mario and Sonic games.

  • damn it sonic unleashed could have been the good game sonic fans waited 4 but there was one problem that....... FUCKING WEREHOG!!!!!(and chip but mainly the werehog) plz team sonic sonic doesnt need a retarded gimmick to be great i hope sonic colors doesnt have any gimmick i mean whats next is shadow gonna be a vampire vamphog come on

  • @citiboy150 I would also like it better id the levels were more 3d instead of just ONE boring path.

  • personally i couldnt stand the werehog stages

  • This made me glad i got the xbox version. nightime stages are better. not as good as daytime stages but better.

  • I have the perfect idea for remake this game is you have a choice at the beginning of the game replace the werehog with knukles and you can choose to play the entire game a either sonic or knukles and get rid of the sun and moon medals

  • Good review. Just one thing I noticed is that you didn't put music in the "pros" section

  • there's one flaw i have with the werehogs stretch mechanics if you're too far down when falling to grab a ledge and you try to grab it you die regardless of if you grab it or not.

  • This video is why I admire your work. You are able to look past the werehog stages, see that they could have been better instead of hating on Sega, and was abble to give the game a good score.

  • hey dont diss the night stages their great sure daytime is better but the night were awsome

  • cjszero01 did ya get my questions from your sonic adventure 2 battle review?

and how do u get your chao to evolve?

  • @cobra12ist the website gamefaqs will explain it far better than I can.

  • @cjszero01 thanks and would you like me to tell u how to get a knuckle chao?

  • @cobra12ist No thanks.

  • @cobra12ist I FINELY found out how to describe this game, and the other new sonic games. The where hog stages NEED to be sonics stages.

  • At 3:15, when you clear the action command, I always think its my doorbell ringing.

    WTF XD

  • i have this game and yes maybe the werehog stages are boring but i enjoy them with the gamecube controler my favorite stage is spagonia roof top run day time and yours(sorry for my bad english)

  • You should try the 360 version(I liked that version better) It has better, faster, longer, more difficult Sonic stages. The Hub worlds are better as you don't need to talk to people, Just find & head to entrace stage and thats it, but you can also buy stuff from its shop as well. The werehog stages... it has better controls more combo moves and they're longer but there's only one Werehog stage to go through in each world instead of 3 or more so they don't outnumber the daytime stages.

  • I just hate the werehog levels

  • 0:7 to 0:16 lolololol

  • lolololololol

  • lol you made me facepalm shake my head and laugh.. yes, that was retarded. nice job haha :P

  • @MoreThanOurMemories I CAN"T STOP LAUGHING!!!!!!

  • (7:58)GOMU NOMU NO.... SCREWDRIVER!!!

Sorry I just needed to do that...(yay! One Piece FTW) xD

  • sonic the werehog defs ate some gum-gum :P

  • While rewatching this, I've noticed something that disturbes me: What you said about the Wall Jump? That it was borrowed from the Mario series? Not really. I know you know that you could already do the Wall Jump in Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog. This isn't the first game to utilize the Wall Jump. It's more unique in this game, but its still the same basic idea. The same for the stomp move. Though it serves a different purpose in this game, he could do it in the Adventure series and '06.

  • True, it's just that seeing it from that angle makes it look like it came directly from Mario 64, the one in Heroes had a different angle so I didn't notice it then. However I don't have a problem with him using it because it works, same with the ground pound.

  • Just thought I'd let you know.

  • how come you cant level up ur stats or use the real speed boost on sonic???

  • RPG elements are retarded. "Lets make all abilities crap at the beginning!" *remembers the horrors of Network Transmission*

Real speed boost would be nice though

  • And the name is wrong too. Were is supposed to mean man so he would actually be called a manhog. It should've been called a wolfhog or something like that.

  • i like the werehog stages. i understand y ppl wouldn't like the werehog stages, but there good to me the whole game is good to me

  • the werehog stages on the wii version was pretty damn fun imo. The werehog on the 360 had worse level design, but far better combosystem though

  • @tarkeke hmm i like the 360 version a little better than the wii version even though i have both versions

  • I really didn't like this game.

  • WEREHOG STAGES....YOU SAID IT PERFECTLEY IN THIS VIDEO MY GOOD SIR...lol

    5:45

  • this game make me sad...

warehog, eggman, chip, the money put on this shit, the story... shit.

  • Dude, if u could, get the PS3/Xbox 360 versions. The slight crapiness of the PS2/Wii versions r made up in the PS3 version. I swear, without hesistation or doubt, the PS3 version is worth 9.7. I'm not making that up.

  • The biggest problem is that the Wherehog is the basic element of the Beat'em up genre. No over the top combos, no ways to link together multiple combos, and the only puzzles that are interesting are the Gaia gates. Sonic Stages I only had two complaints but they don't really get in the way that much.

  • the werehog was beast

  • What?

  • Did you know that that's what they had in mind when they were making this game? It was going to be Sonic Adventure 3 but it was changed, why? Who knows, maybe the story wasn't as epic. :P

  • i have both wii and ps3,and the wii suxs

  • no it was world adventure sonic next gen was about to be adventure 3 but they didnt have time....the werehog puzzles and itself is twice as aswume in ps3/360

  • first of...........THE WEREHOG STAGES ARE AWESOME..... second DONT ASK STUPID QUESTIONS LIKE SINCE WHEN IS A HEDGEHOG ASSOCIATED WITH SPEED or SINCE WHEN DOES A WEREHOG HAVE STRECHTY ARMS! THE GAME IS SUPPOSE TO BE FUNNY AND CARTOONY DONT BRING LOGIC INTO A GAME!!!!!!

  • Response one: What other Beat'em up games have you played?

Second Response: That's true, but it still looks rediculous and was not meant to be funny, it was meant to help players reach platforms.

  • Cars run over hedghogs because they're slow, at least I think that's the reason Sonic is so fast.

Confused? You must not be familier with the concept of irony.

Why blue? It's the cartoon styling.

But above all things Sonic is known for being fast, not for his stretchy arms.

  • Since when do hedgehogs become associated with speed?

  • Ok maybe I was going to technical, but those things still look stupid.

  • FINALLY I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS NOTICED CHIP AND PICKLE

and I'd like a Sonic game like this BUT NO WEREHOG unless werehog was Knuckles and Tails (and hopefully Shadow) is playable again

  • Same here, and I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice the connection between the names and food.

  • I like the wherehog levels, don't know why so many people don't like them.

  • Have you played Viewtiful Joe? God of War? Devil May Cry? or Ninja Gaiden?

  • no,no,no, and...no.

  • That's why, try one of those and you'll see what I why this is boring to me. The only one I've played from begginning to end is Viewtiful Joe, just for the record.

  • In my opinion, you prolly should have reviewed the sonic stages and the werehog stages seperately, because they are totally different.

  • They are completly different yes, but its the same game.

  • I think the Werehog stages were OK. But they aren't without a complaint, when he walks, he walks too fast, but when he runs, he goes great, although it is slippery when you turn. Also, when you die (night and day), chances are it won't be of a reasonable cause. Also, the drifting mechanics to me feel screwed up, as I nearly always slow down when I drift in this game and getting items in day stages can be a pain in the arse. But the rest is pretty much well-done and fun. For me, 4/5. Same as you.

  • This game is great in my opinon, I personnally love the Werehog stages when using the Gamecube controller. You should try it with the Gamecube controller. I usually Get S ranks on most Werehog stages, but...when I tried them with the Wiimote and nunchuk...

    IT FREAKING SUCKED!!!

  • can u do hard mode on sonic unleashed wii/ps2 because it it way 2 easy for me

  • To my knowledge there is no hard mode. Unless you count getting S ranks on all missions.

  • its not the werehog thats bad its just the stages, and the enemys and sega making the wii remote action unresonsive. only thing the werehog did was when he is runnning the jump but i gueswss that would go under unresponsiveness

  • I never had a problem with the Motion controls except for the side movements with the control stick.

  • hehe i felt that the so called "werehog" was stupid too (besides the fact that "were'" actualy means "man") but overall it was a good game.

    nice review :D

  • awesome!

  • Lol, this rocks!!

  • I liked this version better then the Xbox version

  • @Sawtje2 really i didnt

  • @gamecreaterdude13

Most people didn't because of the many werehog stages :O

  • i would have to disagree with u on the night stages. i thought they were really fun with all the cool combos and special moves u could do, and most of the lvls were pretty challenging

  • first sonic game ever (unless if you count ms olimpics)

  • 4.3/5

  • Dark Gaia Is My Favorite Sonic Boss (And His Music Rocks Too)

  • lol, why does the werehog haVe stretchy arms? didn't the developers see that flaw, or was it SUPPOSED to be like that?

  • They designed it that way so players could have an easier time getting back on to platforms they might have missed. I understand that but it still looks ridiculous.

  • the warehog stages take me less time or more depending on the enemys

  • i must say compared to the 360 version this game plays waaaaaay difrently than the 360 infact some of the levels look considerably diffrent from the 360 version and im guessing that most likely has something to do with the fact its on the wii and dont get me wrong i love the wii to bits but seeing how diffrent the game plays and looks on the wii im kinda glad i got the 360 version as its a BLAST! :D but good review man keep it up! :)

  • Thanks. :) but the reason why there so different is because they were designed by two different teams.

  • ah i c thanks that makes more sense to me now, mind u i think i would still pick it up even tho i already have the 360 version just to play myself :)

  • ign rated ps3 and 360 version of this 4 and wii 7

  • It's weird, all the critics hate the 360 and PS3 version, but enjoy the Wii version more.

  • @supermario3456789 That's because in those versions you have to go around the villages collecting rings and talking to people. In the Wii/PS2 version, the village sections only take 1-2 minutes.

  • I agree of what you say, Sega did good with the game but ITS THE WEREHOG LEVELS! you think sega is going to better on the next game [p.s thanks for giving Sonic a chance in this game]

  • It's not me you have to thank, its SEGA. As long as the Black Knight focus's more on running and jumping than on sword combat than maybe.

  • Why is eggman going to such great length's to make a freaking theme park? I mean, Maybe he has a rivalry with Disney...

  • Or he wants to find a way to make more money to build more robots. XD

  • Probably. >.>

  • Well Then "With An Infinate Amount Of Time And Money"

  • xD hey i got this game for chrismas too

  • So do I. I just wish they focused more on Sonic than the wherehog.

  • wow how could I miss this review? I guess it disappeared in my subscription list. (I always watch your videos first ;). Anyways cool review, never liked sonic though and this seems to be kinda like the other ones. Gratz for the honor!

  • Thank you. :) Not much of a speed freak are you? Me, Sonic is my favorite video game character, though his games have been going down hill I still like the character, but Mario is far more superior in 3D.

  • I really prefer mario ;). Btw 4/5?!?!? I thought you'd give it 2/5 or something like that :S. Saw a review in some video game magazine they really didn't recommend the game (4/10). And yea I don't like games based on speed :P.

  • It's funny actually, most critics hate the 360 version and like the Wii version. There's nothing really broken with the game and the only fruastrating part is going through so many wherehog levels just to get to the Sonic stages.

  • so its worth buying?

  • On Three conditions. 1.) you like Sonic, 2.) you like high speed platforming. and 3.) you can put up with the basic and average wherehog levels.

  • I don't have any of the conditions that's required xD. So i might as well skip it. Epic cutscenes though.

  • Only the beggining.

  • only? :(. Is there any epic ending?

  • Meh Kinda

  • lolz I just showed TTH this and he thout you were drunk at that "retard moment" but he still loled alot once again well done

  • Rest assured I don't drink, Simpsons and Family Guy are the perfect examples of why not to drink.

  • the ground pound came from sonic adventure 1 or 2

and the wall jump cam from sonic heroes and shadow the hedgehog

    maybe im wrong but still

  • No that's a good guess, makes sense. But when looked at through the 2D side it looks like it came straight from Mario64.

  • well still he has had wall jump for a few years now so even if they put it back in because of super mario he couldnt steal it

    could

    coud whatever

  • The title screen reminds me of Super Mario Galaxy.

  • Funny, a friend said the music reminded him of Super Mario Galaxy.

  • And the only bad part is the talk to ppl crap everything else rulz.

  • He only fights eggman for a little exercise gotta keep those speed ticket earning legs in shape.

  • Awesome review, thanks.

I agree with mostly everything you said but I like the werehog stages and find them quite fun sometimes. Some things you brought up though was pretty much what I thought (the werehog could have been Knuckles).

  • nice vids.

  • that kick that sonic does is from ssbb and the stretchy arms are soposed to be from chaos zero since i guess he was the last one to use the negative power of the emeralds.

  • how many day levels?

  • About 7 or 8.

  • i hate jasons voice for sonic. he just soundstoo nice and happy and stuff. what happend to the blue dude with the 'tude?

  • Actually I think he improved in this and Brawl. He still doesn't have the attitude down yet but he's putting more emotion and effort into the voice so I can respect that.
