  • this is great stuff

  • Mma probably doesnt do well in china because of shitty medical insurance.

  • to beat a grappler in ufc or finish him you have to go to the ground with him but in AoW if im a striker and i dont wanna enter his world i can stay standing and kick the crap out of him! and trust me in ufc if ground kicks were allowed so many fights would be different. give it time AoW will surpass UFC and i cant wait. when bruce buffer sais champion of the woooooorld il just laugh then switch to AoW where the real Mixed Martial Artists fight withno rules to hold back the evolution of fighting

  • @Tracer564 i hope so man....im sick of these stupid unified rules where a guy on the bottom cant even up kick the guy on top of him. such BS wrestling favored rules. you can stop 20 takedowns but if one lands and does nothing the guy still wins the round. places like art of war and pride, people took you down to finish you, in UFC people take you down to score points with the judges. i hope the essence and atmosphere of PRIDE Is resurrected through AOW

  • wow they are good but i bet fedor is better than all of them i swear coz hes the BEST !. GOGO FEDOR

  • Asian sugar babies # oneman4u.info #

  • 0:45 damn that nigger got fucked up, no wander black people always fight in packs with weapons and pick on the least intimidating

  • @KoolJayJ are you kidding me?

  • Check out Cong Le vs Nashun

  • @Oceancolour5 oh yea i love dat vid,it shows how the chiense got raped by the vietnamese

  • @MechPhantom Where do you pull stuff out of your ass?

  • @SunWukong4 no really just watch cung le vs nashun , china lost to USA ,chinese got a thrashing . no joke

  • does anyone know the salaries of the fighters in ART OF WAR? with china being a quasi-communist country and all, i dont know if their pay is heavily taxed or slightly more?

  • i love this! Art of War FC is cool!

  • this is gonna be the new pride in a few years DREAM already has more audionce than ufc if dream co promot with them this will be for sure the new pride and might , in china it will be populare and 1bilion ppl will watch it and in japane it will only become more and more and than it come in us

  • i think dream and sengoku should pair up these organizations maybe even bellator or strikeforce, combine venues, fighters, and the rules, i think they may be able to have a winner here like pride. dream is losing interest with its fans in japan something like this may be just what it needs to boost itself back to life.

  • 2:32 FEDOR WTF

  • I Like this a whole lot better than the UFC I read a article about this event and Andy Pi said that He wanted the best of all MMA even rules in MMA China With Elbows, and Kicks and stomps to the ground...

And No Judges descisions if the fight is not ended it is a Draw but The fights here are much faster and less stalling happens here..

  • BJJ is the most fun to watch..

  • looked kwl as feck and brutal

  • wtf this is unbelievably brutal! hell the sanctioning sports body needs to do a lot more, it will only take one lethal injury to put a FULL STOP to the exponential rise of MMA that we c to day!

  • mma is not style vs style anymore . mma is parts of the best things in fighting

  • 2:22 classic love it :D

  • ok this is fucking violent

  • the refs need to call fights faster. this is insane

  • this is crazy! they have no rules against kicking someone on the ground when two hands are dwn! wtf!!

  • @oasisspirit thats the way it should be

  • @Tracer564 damnn straightt

  • Art of War is way bettter than the UFC because it has all styles like Wushu/Sanda too. The UFC is mostly just sloppy boxing and wrestling. It's annoying to see every fighter like that. I just wish Korea's Taekwondo fighters would join Art of War or Spirit MC

  • Yea, all styles. Pay attention to whom was winning. Grapplers. K.

  • There's like five Wushu/San Shou fighters in AOW that are undefeated against grapplers. You should be cheering for the style that is most exciting and flashy, and that is San Shou/Taekwondo/Kyokushin. MMA has too many grapplers and muay thaiers. IT's getting boring and mundane

  • Yeah i love watching Cung Le fight, hes 6-1 spining kicks and punches sure make the fights more interesting, lyoto machida with his karate sweeps n strikes, san shou side kicks n shit are alot better then watching two guys humping and stalling for 10 minutes is kind of wack.

  • The grapplers were doing an awful lot of "Striking" to be considered grapplers......Maybe you should pay MORE attention, even in the UFC knocks outs from standing strikes happen way more then submissions nowadays. watch all the recent UFCs peoples sprawl game is so strong all the fights end up ending on standing strikes n thats a fact lol

Only 3 out of 10 matches in art of war ended up with submissions i'll hardly call that grapplers winning LMAO

  • Hahahaha this is REAL fighting. (punches and throwing and kicks in all directions) all we need now are headbutts, but i CAN see why it is banned.

  • the big judo man @ 3:11... very cool"!

  • This... is awesome...

  • wow! who is this blue dressed judo guy??

  • dont know, but that was a nasty and kick ass lookin keylock huh?

  • the rules here reminds me of Pride!! this is awsome!

  • is this CHINA wtf ???

  • banda106 the ufc have used rules because of saftey of the fighters.doing mma myself i am happy knowing that if i get knocked out i will be safe from stamping and footie kicks that could give me a stroke.

  • 1) all mainstream including Pride had rules so idk what you mean "the ufc have used rules" as if other orgs don't.

    2) why would you worry about stomps & soccer kicks if you have already been KO'd, the ref will stop the fight if you have been KO'd.

    3) stroke is caused by arteriosclerosis not stomps or soccer kicks.

    4) Pride never had a single death due to soccer kicks or stomps.

  • Whoever can make MMA big in China and India will definately be the company to take MMA global.

  • i like how the commentary in the background is all taken from American play-by-play on Fedor fights from like 4 years ago

  • lol i just heard them say fedor's last name (can't spell it)

  • 1:43 broken arm?

  • these guys are crap none of them would get close to making it into the UFC

  • i havent seen such aggressiveness and dishonor in one ring.

  • The best bout on this card was between a Chinese Sanda fighter and a Japanese Submission Wrestler. Standing up or on the ground it was non-stop.

  • botte da orbi e basta

  • why the hell would a white belt enter?

  • LOL, good question

  • I was actually at this particular event in Beijing. According to the announcer, if my Mandarin is correct, he was some freestyle fighter. I guess he wore the gi & belt, which probably meant nothing and thought it would provide him an advantage like Royce in the first UFC's. Nonetheless, he got wupped.

  • yeah freestyle fighters dont last long.

  • Do you really want to take things to the ground when there are people swarming around you? You would get ur face kicked in if you try to ground fight with a guy who has got buddies to watch his back.

  • whats the name of this song

  • anybody know the name of the song. I know it Era, but the song title. I can't find it.

  • The title is "Enae volare mezzo" ;p Enjoy!

  • respekt from kosovo

  • chinese or nigga? really, how ignorant.

  • You know this worldwide hate and disrespect of black people gets old. Why couldn't your bitch azz just say black?

    Damn internet ninja.

  • k ,i was angry cuz one black guy has plundered me.sorry black guys. peace !

  • ROFL i geus the blacks the best fighter :P

  • 傻逼美国佬

  • u better start to learn some foreign language

  • this is mma from CHINA, of course your gonna see foreign comments

  • russian is answer.

  • where can i find this song?!

  • its fedors entrance music

  • Hm, you asked for 1 month ago but ill answer you're question, the band is called "Era" :)

  • thanks man

  • It's a fight. They're not playing ping pong. Both competitors know this going in and have trained for it. Watch people playing golf instead if you find this sport unacceptable.

  • Time to read the fucking rules asshole... strikes to the back of the head are ILLEGAL, I say!!!

  • In china, that's how they do it down there. =D

  • thats how they do it in the east, been like that since for ever, plus they sign a waver b4 they fight.

  • Ken Shamrock's skill is not questionable. Dan Severn's skill is not questionable. Minoki Ichihara was one of the top Karate fighters in the world. He did not have the slightest chance against Royce Gracie in UFC 2. You had better go back and study your UFC and MMA history, actually step onto a mat or inside the ring and do some training, before you make more outlandish comments.

  • the reason that they have implemented the no strikes to the back of the head, neck and spine rule is because it is DANGEROUS to hit there... they didn't implement the rules to deliberately favor grapplers or strikers. the back of the head area was deemed as a sensitive area, and can make for some very serious injuries. indirectly however, it has favored strikers, simply because when grapplers dominate the back position, they can no longer strike the back of their opponent's head.

  • Ken Shamrock's skill wasn't questionable back in the day, now..well...yeah, it's about time for him to retire I would say (as much of a Shamrock fan I am). Dan Severn is definitely a beast. I think Minoki Ichihara was a great fighter, he was only versed in stand up though. Too many people bash guys for being sucky fighters just because they had no idea how to grapple at the time. That's like saying Muhammed Ali couldn't fight because he had no grappling background.

  • WELL SAID!!!

  • Man I totally agree with that. You take any great fighter and throw them into something they r not used... I mean of course they r gonna lose. Muhammed Ali is a great boxer. But how would he have faired against a Gracie or Cung Lee in the cage? And how would Gracie or Cung Lee fair against The greatest in a boxing ring? Either way its a different type of training. Different battlefield requiring different tactics. Ground fighting is great in the ring. But on the street with multiple opponents...

  • why say gracie or cung lee like they are mma's equivalent of ali. cung lee is a nobody in mma and always will be, gracie was the man at the start of UFC but that time is long gone.

  • Lol, they used Fedor's enterance music!

  • OUCH!!!!

  • good stuff. refs hardly interfere.

  • hardcore

  • hahaha the music was ripped from a FEDOR´S HIGHLIGHT hahaha you can hear " fedor !!"

    THIS FIGHTERS ARE HARDCORE

  • why are chinese ppl so fucking good at fighting?

  • 5 stars from me.After PRIDE died and only UFC rulez the world, China brings a new sence to MMA.

    Excellent,respect!

  • It is incredibly refreshing to see a MMA event where two men can enter a ring knowing that all what stands between them and a win is just their opponent. No other sport directly signifies the superiority of one man over another than AOW. Call it archaic, barbaric, violent, whatever; these men enter willingly, and for that, it is fair and just. Good luck to them all and may the best always win.

  • whats the name of the song?

  • Of course in recent years ,chinese martial arts like other martial arts have been undergoing commercialisation just like this Art of WAR thing.

Wait a few years, you will be able to see better exponents.

  • The traditional philosophy of chinese martial arts has always been you learn chinese martial arts for health and self -defense.And you certainly do not learn chinese martial art to fight in UFC,etc for money and fame.A true to the philosophy master will not accept you as a student if that is your intention.

  • That's why you don't learn a traditional martial art if you want to fight in UFC...

MMA training is MUCH different than traditional training.

  • UFC and the art of war,etc tournaments all give the grapplers an advantage not available in street fight. Most grapplers in this commercial fights try to take you down by grappling at least one of the legs.If it is a street fight,I would whack him to the back of his head or neck to disable him.But commercial fights do not allow that.I suggest we stop comparing styles and start enjoying the entertainment for what it is.

  • Hey VPCPJALL, in a real street fight, if you tried to wack me in the back of neck as I took you down, my friends would all jump you and beat the shit outta you. MMA tournaments are the closest you can get to a REAL street fight. Doesn't matter if you are a grappler or striker. MMA events don't favor any style. It is a sportive competition which allows all styles!

  • Change the MMA rules to allow strikes to the back of the head and neck, then see how many will still try to do the same thing.I bet few if any.Perhaps once in a while when the opponent is tired and not alert and I repeat only perhaps because with head and body down with your opponent at the top puts u in a very vulnerable position.

  • As far as allowing strikes to the back of the head - you're an idiot, this is a sport that is as close to a real fight as you can be without maiming and killing each other. If you don't think someone could take your strikes as they single legged you, you're a fool. They'd simply take you down and pound you. Non-trained fighters just don't have the takedown defense. In a fight, an MMA guy can do every dirty thing you can do - just faster, harder, and for a lot longer before they tire of it.

  • Part 1 - I did not call you an idiot. What right have you got to call me one? May God bless you!Show me you are right by giving sound arguments not by calling names.

I m not talking about fighting dirty.I am talking about the vulnerable position most grapplers take when they dive to grap one or both of their opponents make

  • Part 2- If the rules allowed striking to the back of the head or neck or if it is a street fight, which fighter of sound mind would do that.I bet few if any.

That is why I say MMAs rules favour the grapplers.Perhaps they favour more in the past but less now .Nevertheless they still favour the grapplers .

  • Part 3 - If the grappler goes for his opponents leg/s with head down, all the opponent needs to do is pound ,pound n pound unceasingly to the neck or back of the head until that guys goes unconscious.

  • Part 4 - Tell me in which street fight you have seen a guy does that.

Counter me with sound logical statements not by calling me names and I will respond.

If you continue calling me names ,you can go fly a kite n I won't bother to respond

  • Have you seen the early UFCs? Strikes to the back of the head were totally allowed in the early UFCs. Royce Gracie took down all of his opponents and finished them on the ground, and all of them could hit him in the back of the head... how come he still won? You should really do your research before you open your mouth... you are wasting valuable debate space with your uneducated statements!

  • Part 1

    Dear yxb,

How early was the UFC fights that allowed strikes to the back of the head? Did they also allowed strikes to the back of the neck?I am given to understand the quality of the fighters in the early UFC fights were questionable. There were so called experts in certain martial arts with such and such qualifications in certain martial arts that were not

  • vpcpjall... you obviously have not done your research about early UFC history or Brazilian Vale Tudo history. The only illegal techniques in the early UFC were no eye gouging, no biting, and no groin strikes, just like old school Brazilian Vale Tudo rules. When a jiu-jitsu fighter executes a BODY LOCK takedown, he does not even expose the back of his head because he is not going for the legs. Your entire argument is predicated on a grappler bending his waste to attack the legs...

  • If the grappler doesn't bend his waste to shoot in, he never exposes the back of his head or neck... there are many ways to take down an opponent without ever exposing the back of your head and neck. If you had actually bothered to study the history of the UFC or old school Brazilian vale tudo, or made an effort to study a bit of grappling, you would know these things and would never make such an outlandish statement.

  • Part 2

If you would like to have an open debate/discussion on this issue, please do not make unnecessary and offensive staements like accusing me of wasting valuable debate space and making uneducated statements. What do you mean when you use the word uneducated?

  • When I say uneducated, I mean just that... uneducated. You have obviously NEVER studied grappling before. If you have seriously studied ANY FORM of grappling or wrestling, you would know right off the bat that there are hundreds of ways to takedown your opponent without exposing the back of your head or neck. Not all takedowns are double legs...

  • Part 3

Reply to me in a cool logical manner minus any personal attacks ,then there is the opportunity to exchange opinions.Otherwise ,forget it.How we use our language defines us.One more thing, why then have they changed the rules so as not to allow strikes to the back of the head and/or neck anymore.Reinstate freedom to strike to the back of the head/neck and we will know then whether the present rules favour the grapplers for certain.

  • In addition to not allowing strikes to the back of the head or neck, the UFC has also implemented about 30 more additional rules, yet you choose ONLY to focus on no strikes to the back of the head or neck. What about RESTARTS STANDING UP? Who does that favor? What about not allowing the grappler to SPIKE his opponent onto the ground, head first? What about the use of padding in the ring or octagon? A striker would break his shoulder and back because he doesn't know how to breakfall.

  • Reinstating strikes to the back of the head and neck... that will certainly favor grapplers... especially BJJ guys. Because when a good BJJ guy takes your back, and you're not able to get him off of you, you will be in DEEP SHIT. Today's current UFC rules don't allow the grappler to use his elbow to smash into the back of your head and neck when he has control of your back... Watch Renzo Gracie against Ben Spijkers in the WCC.

  • If you are still not convinced that current MMA rules favours the ground grappler, let it be.I do not wish to go into a long debate.I will let other readers make their sound opinion after going through both our arguments.

  • You're wrong. MMA rules years ago favored the grappler. With 5 minute rounds and restarts the grapplers all complain that the game now favors the striker. Your argument is out of date and does not apply to MMA in 2008.

  • I must also say that most if not all MMA gymns and their training have their base in at least some form of systemised martial arts be it Muay Thai Jujitsu boxing karate or otherwise. They do not come out of thin air.

  • What the west know of the chinese martial arts are those few styles that were more aggressively introduced to west .You cannot say a particular style say Wing Chun or Silat is not effective or the best just because the exponents do not win in UFC or other MMA fights.

There are many reasons for them not participating.

This Art of War thing is still new ,so you may not be getting the best exponents yet

  • Another reason could be because organised/systemised martial arts in china have a long history/tradition in china ,over a few thousand years. The chinese have always been very enthusiastic about martial arts.

you can't say that chinese martial art is limited in style because if you look at the whole spectrum of Chinese martial art,it includes everything from grappling to kicks, punches ,lock ,etc,

  • exactly and its all kung fu. its not all the stuff in the movies. people dont seem to get that.

  • Why all the insults?.This is just a fight.

For the chinese to cheer their fighters is natural just like americans cheer for their athletes and fighters in UFC or boxing. The same applies to all other nationalities. If the chinese cheer louder, perhaps it is because prior to their current resurgence, they were bullied and dominated by the foreigners especially Europeans,Americans and japanese during the last 200 years.

  • Chinese fighters are the shit!

  • wow...sounds like you are some good shit...

Get in ring and tell who will be the real shit!

  • To: misanthrope81

  • Hahaha, was that Fedors music, and Mario plus Bas Ruttens voice? Man..I miss those times..

  • Yeah, awsome stuff.....

Asian are just lack on body size...otherwise, Asian will own all the MMA....

  • hong man choi.

  • It's hardly considered acceptable. There is plenty of moral outrage over that.

  • Less rules the better.

If only fishhooking and eyegouging and groin and throatshots and collarbone grips and other brutality would be allowed. :/ Well, id just like to see what kinda crazies would enter such a contest...

  • your sick.

  • It was sarcasm.

(Maybe im not good at it but still..)

AND it WOULD be intresting to see what kinda people would participate. Whyd u think the Colosseum was so popular for 400 yrs?

  • Because the romans had no morals

  • What!?

Oh please, the roman sivilization is the basis of modern western sivilization, and they had very high moral ideals.

Gladiators were slaves. That made a world of differance at the time. We no longer have slavery, at least not in a explicit form.

Frankly, you sound like some extremist christian by saying that, no offence. Please reconcider.

  • Well obviously they had some kind of morals, I was exaggerating to make a point.

Today their morality would be considered quite flawed, and the colosseum is a good example of that. Feeding people to lions for amusement is not acceptable in any modern culture.

  • Romans had high moral ideals?

  • Look it up dude. They indeed did.

  • Nope, didn't find it.

  • Actually the romans did not have high morals. That's the main reason it fell. Everyone backstabbing each other. Orgies, murder, theft, blackmail, all those things were everyday occurences in the roman empire. So much so that it caused it's downfall.

  • Morals are hardly the main pillar that holds a society together. Rather the constant flow if germanic immigrants and invaders and the obvious weakness from deviding the empire into 2 is what fucked their system. Besides..

every empire falls eventually no matter how high morals they pretend to have. I did specify "moral-ideals" didnt I, people still act like beasts, what would explain our starnge affection for violent entertainment.. (Like the ART OF WAR, ((WOOOO!!!)))

  • everyday occurences in life. Thats mankind.

  • MMA has been an international sport for over 10 years now, this is simply China's version of it. There are various MMA events staged all around the world. With 99% of the techniques used being a combination of Brazilian Ju-jujitsu, Muay Thai and Boxing, the evidence of which is very well documented and visibly clear. Osu! Train Hard.

  • Yes,this is the real MMA in action,Please stop with just the The BJJ bullshits, In China ,In China/Asia,they have Classy Sambo,Classical Jujutsu,SanShou Mixed Chin-Na,Roman-Greeko Wrestling=(REAL-MAA)just open your brain and Read before you Posting more Shits about this Filmlike a 5 year old

  • My comments were not intended to be insulting to you, nor a particular style. I respect all Martial Arts, in all formats, but

I do not appreciate being insulted by anonymous psoters. And I do not stand for style-vs-stytle arguments. If you wish to criticize me personaly, please email me directly thank you. Osu! Train Hard.

  • Check out 2:22, freaking sweet shit!

  • You've never watched the early UFC's, have ya? Most of the fighters weren't even American, and they were skilled in one discipline or another (which sometimes didn't seem so practicle in combat). Big fat sweaty rednecks? No. Gracie winning victories? Yes. This is one "cracker" (nice racist remarks, btw) that knows his MMA history.

  • Royce only enter 3 fights at the early UFC, what a Chicken Shit, And Giving His Ass Fu*ck by Fat and skinney Japs <just laying on the Mat and Spread Eagle-GayshitDo,but Bushida always has Honor, but Bjj-Gayassshitdo

  • what is MMA in chinese? in chinese characters, not pinjin, if possible?

  • At the end it said Ying Xiong Ban, meaning "the roll of heroes".

  • vicious

  • not the next pride......its way better than that and the ufc and way better tan those mexican or brazilian organizations......i fight under jeff mullens a well known judge of the ufc and this looks the best.....just needs maybe better judges.....THIS IS THE BEST I WANT TO ENTER ART OF WAR!!!!!!

  • the next pride..

  • asian is better!

  • you stupid

  • Asian are lack of body size!

    Skill....?! Asian are best!

imagine if Asian got a body size and skill....

    We kick ass....!

  • The average height in China is almost identical to Brazil's. In Japan the average height is a little shorter, but younger Japanese are actually taller than Brazilians. Shorter height among the older generation is most due to poor nutrition. Asians are not as small as most Westerners believe.

  • Asians are almost the same size as Europeans now. At least in this generation.

  • its the art of war in china

  • HEROES does not allow 4-point attacks.

  • very cool that they have this event in Asia

  • mmmmmmmmm interesting I like it good organized fighting with limit of space and who can show the true skills with no deadly skill in a limit of combat & good feel to a organizations up and rising. P.S. It has everything to real combat street fight but everybody knows there more beyond just a organize fight Im just talking in true logic in the real world survival instincts take over. Over all that I like this organization.

  • proud to see such a good org n china finally. None of my relatives knew what mma was when I went back last january, and they're into martial arts.Though the art of war event I saw on tv last jan wasnt very good. Not very advanced yet on the ground, but the newer fights have looked great! Maybe it'll be the new pride fc! hahaha

  • I love that they're bringing the Gi back

  • this shit is nuts

  • the guy at :31 and :46 is Baoligao, one of my most favorite sanshou fighters. Surprising to see him debut in MMA.

  • i think its good that there are allways new organsations oppening maybe this will be a great succes who knows? the fighter looked like they lacked some technique but thats normal at this stage and when the organsations are new but its entertaining anyway

  • COME JOING MY MMA GROUP

  • Holy smoke ! At 2:50 , you can feel that revenge fire burning inside the Chinese fighter.

  • Awesome. This will hopefully be the new Pride, 'cause UFC sucks ass in comparison.

  • Yeah UFC is going Stale. They Need more Exciting Fighters. Still Good Fighters though.

  • The production value of their show, and the whole "cage-fight" aesthetic suck. Show these fighters some respect. don't make them look like a couple pit-bulls going at it in a basement somewhere. Art of war looks like some of these guys have traditional Chinese MA backgrounds... JUST WHAT I'VE BEEN WANTING TO SEE IN MMA!!

  • great fighting action! and a scary armbar at 1:55...

  • what is this music, btw? i like it.

  • ERA : enae Volare Mezzo

  • Give it about 5 years, this organization is going to be HUGE! With 1.3 billion people in China, just imagine the potential fan base.

  • Hahaha!! Internet warrior good one
