"Betrayal at Pearl Harbor, How Churchill lured Roosevelt into WWII", by James Rusbridger (of the Britsh SIS) & Eric Nave (of the Australian SIO) is another "page-turner" I can't put down. Very detailed, and you are the "fly_on_the_wall" watching and listening to it all. Just amazing, and will completely change your opinions of both FDR and Churchill.

There was the pre WW2 FDR and the post WW2 FDR. He failed the first part, succeeded in the second. I guess short term political memory highlights his success in WW2 and not his fiscal failures (admitted by his treasurey secretary) of the first part of his term.
