  • At 8:11 I heard a Cyberdemon...what's up with that, there is no Cyberdemon in Level 2.

  • This Riff could be by Slayer!

  • @musicalbeast no this came out before slayer (1993)

  • don't forget very happy ammo on this is hold left trigger and hit B 4 times. i just discovered that as i'm playing this right now.

  • The only thing bad about xbox and x360 ports is that the sound is as if it were 25fps (PAL VERSION) an accelerated rate, not like the original, but it is good then is console xD

    greetings =)

  • which is better 360 or original xbox port of this game?

  • The 360 port by far. The XBox one has two problems: Theres a bug that shows same sky for EVERY episode, and cheats can be accidentally inputted since you hold down run and press the face buttons to input them. VERY annoying.

  • @elbryan42 well can understand complaining about the cheat system but the sky isnt such a BIG issue

  • For me, I think it is. Having a normal episode 1 sky in hell really ruins the atmosphere. The thing is, they didn't fix the bug when they included Classic Doom in Ressurection of Evil. It's a lazy port. It seems to me that they just plopped it on the Doom 3 disc and didn't care past that point.

The 360 version is awesome in every way.

  • @elbryan42 yeah i think i had that bug as well when i played it on xbox

i was on e3m1 and i just realized that it has the clear looking like sky from E1 it should be half of a red sky and mountains

  • @elbryan42 do they have Doom 2 on xbox 1?

  • @cameron20101000 yes but it ended up the same shitty things

  • @killkenny5000 what shitty things?

  • @cameron20101000 in order to get DOOM 1 and 2 on original xbox is by getting DOOM 3 collectors edition and then go to classic doom

    what sucks about it is

1.they 2 bugs a static sound bug and a sky bug

2.extremely easy cheats (so easy you accidently activate one :O)

  • @killkenny5000 the sound bug and sky bug are the problems with Doom on xbox?

  • @cameron20101000 no the cheats too

cheats are easy you can accidently activate one

for example: hold the running button and press A 4 times

and half the doom players always use the running button

    including ME

  • @killkenny5000 the cheats are along with the bugs?

  • @cameron20101000 they made the cheats and put it in a code and see what cheats code you want on your controller

it does not have to do with the BUGS

BUGS are like failed textures and never added in the games...if you look at doom on sega 32x on map11 they accidently forgot to put a texture wall on one of the boxes which that is known as a BUG (failed textures and architecture)

  • @killkenny5000 Then, stay away from 32X doom.

  • @123stephenno 360 man!! don't you want to play it with the HDMI cable?

  • What flaws are there in this version?

  • There's three flaws with this version. First, all the skies in Ultimate Doom are the same as episode 1. Second, the Super Shotgun in Doom 2 is the last in the weapon order instead of between the Shotgun and the Chaingun.

Third (and the worst by far), you activate cheats by holding run and pressing buttons. Which means that you ACCIDENTALLY activate cheats when you don't want to. Unless you let go of run every time you change weapons, open doors, etc. Lame. Totally kills the gameplay.

  • @elbryan42 oh that's a real bad news!! i hope there is a way to put that off

  • @elbryan42 i dont think putting the super shotty in last isnt that big of and issue just the sky and cheats that gives it away :l

  • I can't find your review, where is it? Or if you didn't end up making one, what's wrong with this version?

  • I can't remember if this is covered in my reviews. In any case, it's a port to avoid because of a few things. First of all, all the skies in Ultimate Doom are the episode 1 sky. A glitch for sure. Second, you enter codes by holding down run and pressing buttons. So you randomly put in codes by accident, killing all enjoyment of the game. You open 4 doors in a row, you enter a code, you scroll through your weapons, you enter a code.

It's better to get the it on XBLA. Or the PSX or PC versions.

  • To see Doom running so fast and smooth is amazing. Great video.

  • nice game

    you are good

    n.n

  • This port is really good, you use the left stick to move, the right on to aim. This is pretty cool because you can strafe easily. In the pc game you had to maintain alt down to strafe, so you couldn't aim and strafe at the same time. The only key flow I found is about the cheats.

You can so easily activate them by accident.

What do you mean about key flows?

  • can any1 tell me what the song is i know its doom theme but where can i download it?

  • r u gonna die in that game elbryan42?

  • I try to never die in games. If I do somehow die in a game, I completely start over 90% of the time. So when I finally beat a game, I have it completely mastered. Just the way I am. :P

In Doom, only if I'm playing a REALLY hard wad on the PC. And that's very seldom.

  • @elbryan42 I know that I am replying to a comment from over a year ago, but you restar the whole game just if you die one? what kind of games do you play that you manage to do that? I guess mainly shooters... and anyway, you must have A LOT of free time to be able to do that.

  • Is it me or does the monsters' grunts sound a little high pitched at times? LOL

  • and the music is a bit too slow also lol and all the sounds ARE a bit altered. ah, the sounds of a mismade port.

  • OMG I love this game :) I have it for my PC and almost at the last chapter *.*

  • I wonder if you can show the super secret level? It was in the Classic Doom Level 1 for Xbox Orginal.

  • How do you get the EXTRA option mode on Doom 3, because I have the DOOM 3 on the original XBOX.

  • It's only available on the collector's edition, or the expansion, Resurrection of Evil.

  • do i have "collector's edition" doom 3 even it doesent reed but manual book talks about

old doom games and shows where to shoot and stuff, so was it just a preview of upcoming edition or do i real got this "extra" in my doom 3 for xbox?

    ps:i havent played it yet

  • All I need now is ressurection of evil on ill have every doom because i have the xbl arcade version of this.

  • i now have every doom except doom 3 ressurection of evil or does it come with this

  • do you have final doom

  • i had final doom

  • Impressive. The MIDI is very very accurate. Very faithful to the PC original.

  • couldve upgraed the music a bit. the pc music to level 1 sounds like poo but level 2 sounds amazing

  • no, the music in level is very good.

  • Myself and a friend just bought a used Xbox with controller & Halo 2, plus this game. All used. All cheap. Great games. I've been playing Doom II for 10yrs and played Doom 3 in summer 2005. I'm stoked to have all 3 on the same game platform on an HDTV!

  • Doom ROE contains Doom 3 expansion AND Doom and Doom II?

  • Yes, plus (most of) the Master Levels for Doom II.

  • yea but then master levels went into final doom

  • do you get the entire game or just the first episode?

  • The entire game, all 4 episodes.

  • yay! :D

  • thanks i bought a used collecters edition online and they put it in the wrong box

  • Do you have to beat the doom 3 game before you can access the original doom game ,because i think i got i wrong version?

  • Nope, you don't have to beat Doom 3. Classisc Doom (Doom 1 and 2) are available in the limited collectors edition (it has a metal case), and it's also in all versions of the expansion, Resurrection of Evil.

  • hey i want to play my doom 2 gfame on my pc because my xbox is always hoged so i can't use doom3 or resurection any1 know how to convert a dos file to run in windows or any1 know of and emulater i can download

  • Buy it on Steam. Or just use try running it. It worked for me. Unless you have Vista. Otherwise you will need DOSBOX.

  • I recommend just using ZDoom.

  • thnx i got zdoom works great i like skull tag *turns super speed goes to skulltag ...kills more nubs.

  • i like the transition music in doom 1

  • So wait did classic Doom come with all the Doom 3 Xbox's?

  • Nope, only the collector's edition and the expansion (stand alone on XBox) Resurrection of Evil. If your normal Doom 3 didn't come in a metal case, you didn't get Classic Doom.

  • Ok, then I'll look out for the one in the metallic case.

  • Where did you find your's?

  • I bought it on release day. You could buy the normal version or the collector's edition.

  • Well I'll see if I can find this one.

  • Have you tried ebay?

  • No, I just bought ultimate Doom from ID's website.

  • lol.

  • How do you go to extras? please answer back

  • What? To play this? It's in the main menu on Doom 3 Collector's Edition (not on normal Doom 3) and Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil.

  • the 8bit song sounds like a judas priest song

  • cant you do co-op on this? like spit screen? and what about resurection of evil since it comes withs these ports as well? can you do co-op split screen on them to?

  • Idk my bff jill? hah

  • you can do split screen!

  • cheesy grin at 4:03 lol

  • nice doom 1 on doom 3 xbox :)

  • I bought the RoE doom 3 instead of looking for Doom 3 limited edition... well these games are great ports!

  • i have this, i got it for 9.99$

its in a metal case :D

  • i like the music in this version for some reason

  • why does the music sound so slow?

  • Glad I'm not the only one who thought that, is it some emulation problem? Or is this the speed the music for Doom (DOS) ran at?

  • i think it's a emulation problem

  • I don't notice it.

  • Same as Doom 95.

  • Yes, its the same thing except there are less levels and there are two super secret added levels. I am posting the videos on how to get to them. And if its okay with elbryan42, I will do playthroughs of this port. I want his okay so then when I do them people don't call me a elbryan42 rip-off (I already had that happen to me from SpoonyOne). That and I don't want it to look like I'm copying him.

  • i really didnt like this version because all the sound effects are too high pitched and the music is slower...

  • is it just me or does the music sound slower in this version?

  • It is slower.

  • @manic242 yes i think it is a little slower than the PC

its about as slow as the 360 version but the 360 version has like a atari sound like music almost not the one that sound like ducks no like atari 2600 that what it almost sounds like

  • Are you going to review the PC version of Doom 3, Resurrection of Evil, and their XBox ports somewhere down the line?

  • I was thinking about reviewing the Xbox games.

  • Great!

  • I will review this port of Doom :) in fact, me and elbryan42 have thought about doing playthroughs of Doom 3 S-B-S.

  • Music seems kinda slower.

  • It is slower, I don't know why.

  • duke nukem is much better in my opinion.

  • totally agreed!

duke nukem is a legend... I mean the character, not the game... the game is just one more simple dos-games but the character makes it special!

  • Nope, it sucks.

  • Oh because originally you could use SoundBl^ster too and stuff

  • its abit boring, no spidermastermind, a few crappy levels and only 30 levels, NOT EVEN 32!

  • what are you talking about this version has the spidermastermind in it

  • I believe he was talking about PSX Final Doom. Which is the last console Doom I have to make a video of (since I can't record from the 32x/Genesis).

  • dude, if u payed attention you would realise im talking about psx final doom

  • The 360 port is really the only port of Doom I have and yes I have the PC version. I noticed that in the 360 version, the music sounds a little different in some parts than the PC version. From what I've saw in this original xbox version before the 360 version that it has the original PC music and a better MIDI. I might also get the collectors edition for to play Doom 2 on xbox and the Ps1 version because of the custom sounds, levels and music.

  • =) This was the first port of Doom I ever played, I mostly stuck to the PC Version.

  • I prefer the Xbox 360 port over the port included with Doom 3.

I've had times where I accidentally activated cheats just for rapidly pressing a button combination too much (I hold the run button and tap the use button, and a cheat activates.)

I'm still hoping for Doom 2 to hit XBLA, although it might be hard as there's the Wolfenstein Secret levels being the problem, as Doom 2 couldn't be sold in Germany because of that reason.

  • He does exactly that (accidentally activating the temp invincibility cheat) at 8:10.

I mean, it's not like someone is ever going to run and tap the X button a few times to open a door real fast right? I mean, no one ever gets in a hurry in Doom; there's no such thing as a speedrun, right, right? It's not like someone is going to try to fit a recording in 10 minutes so they can post it on YouTube, right? *sarcasm detector explodes* :p

Someone obviously wasn't thinking when they made the cheats.

  • Yeah, even if you press four doors in a row on the way to the exit of a level without shooting, with joystick movement and all, and the cheat activates.

I only pushed it on the red door on my way to the soul sphere, on my way back through the red door, and accidentally pressed it twice when I was opening the secret door.

That's four times pressed I pushed X, very far apart. You'd think they would've fixed it in Resurrection of Evil, but it's just as bad there.

    Scrolling weapons is even worse.

  • hey, dude, ever played final doom for the psx? if so what do you think of it?

  • Excellent game. It's just too short. It's only 30 levels, most of which are from Master Levels. It's a must for a Doom fan, but the first PSX Doom has 59 levels.

  • To DarkLordRobert, do a google search on "classicdoom sewers betray" (without the quotes) and you'll find some links to download Sewers and Betray for the PC version and how to access them in the XBox version.

Keep in mind, however, that both maps in the XBox version have bugs, and can be rendered incompleteable, unless you do them as the author expected. Ledmeister fixed these bugs in the ones he has available for download, however.

  • Yeah, those levels are pretty bad.

  • The maps weren't that good anyways, and it's stupid how they placed secret exits on plain walls and you don't even know a secret exit switch is there to begin with.

  • I think that's because they never got the authority to add them in the first place.

But yeah, they're basically bad 1994-5 style maps. Stuff only Funduke could love. :p

  • are ypu going to be doing the secret extra levels in this version of doom?

  • If you mean the exclusive secret levels, Sewers and Betray. Yes, I'll probably do videos of those. :)

  • What?! Exclusive secret levels?! Never knew those existed... Where are those levels?

  • It's so stupid that YouTube won't let you post links...

  • Hey man awesome video,I Had the CE of Doom 3 on xbox with this and yes I was pissed off as well about the fact that the controls were used for messed up cheats as well.

  • That has to be my main gripe. :P

  • Yeah and no online(Could have been easy to put in) =-(,But ah well man I'm getting 500 MS points for free since I preordered GTA IV so I will spend those on the 360 version =-P

  • So does the 360 version controls fix?

  • The same controls are on the 360. But the control sticks feel tighter and more natural, and A is open, not the awkward X. Also, there's no cheats, so no accidentally turning them on. Also, the skies are correct in every episode.

So basically, the 360 is almost a damn near perfect port of Ultimate Doom. Still no Doom 2 on XBLA though.
