Wow you loser Syracuse fans have really out recruited rutgers. Lol we have taken the top players in NYC and upstate ny. Good luck this year your going to need it after u beat us last year
HAHAHAHA 1 year wonder. suck my dick. we may not have gone to a BCS bowl game or even a bowl game worth talking about really, yet syracuse hasnt gone to a bowl game at all in years. yes RU got upset by them this year, but that was the "letdown game". after every big win, they have to lose the very next week cause schiano cant get them prepared.
the problem with you Rutgirls morons is that you think college football started in 2006, when you actually won something, how dare you queers even think of comparing yourself to Syracuse in terms of program history, have you won a national championship? NO! Have you won a conference championship? NO! Have you gone to any bowl greater than the International Bowl let alone the BCS? NO! Face it, your idea that you guys are the USC of the east and a national power is retarded just like you
i never said anything you just said. i never said we had a better program history, nor did i say we won a conference or national championship, or get to a good bowl game. all i said is that since 2005 not 2006, we have been better than syracuse. you fruity motherfuckers do have a better history than us. we only have a longer history, and after many years of losing to you homos, the tables have turned. even tho we lost to you this year, guess who is still going to a bowl game. certainly not you.
oh wow, first of all I never said you said it personally, but from what I've seen that is what most Rutgers fans tend to think. Additionally, so what if you guys are an 8-4 team going to a bowl, your schedule was a joke playing two FCS teams, Maryland, Fla Int, Army and Maryland who suck, big deal if you guys get to go to Toronto, finally it seems like after this loss here at the Dome, the tables are turning again back in our favor but who knows, only time will tell
in my personal experience, i havent heard anyone speak that highly of them. highly but not BCS highly. whoever said rutgers was going to a BCS game this year is insane. ive been a fan for my entire life and i even admitted we wernt making a BCS game. i think our schedule fit us fine because we were a VERY young team. lots of freshmen, mainly on offense. we had no chemistry in the beginning of the season because of all theseniors that left like britt teel tiquan and mccourty and several others
well yes that is true, but still, you rutgers fans with your marginal success suddenly think you are the USC of the Northeast or something, college football did not start in 2006 mind you
not to mention, with the way things are going now at the 'Cuse, you can expect SU to be back on top with the way Doug Marrone coaches and recruits and you can expect to see Rutgers fall again to the point where you will be our bitch like you used to be
Well, well, well, we all see how well that worked out for you, you guys got absolutely dominated by 'Cuse, we toasted you Jersey Trash all over the field and made your overrated QB Tom Savage look like the true freshman bitch that he is, why dont you guys play a real schedule, and beat one real team besides overrated south florida, and then talk
As a proud Rutgers grad I am disgusted with the money the state and the university has wasted on football. When I went to Rutgers it was considered a "public Ivy." Now it is a money pit for the football program.
1. Who is going to pay the bill for the stadium expansion?
2. Rutgers dropped sports like swimming a rowing so they could spend it on football and an overpaid coach.
3. Check your facts: Read the Op-Ed in today's (9/12/08) Star-Ledger by Drs. Van Leeuwen & Urlich re: non-football universities get more donations and how Rutgers reached peak donations in 2001 BEFORE the football expansion.
4. Colleges and Universities are in supposed to be in the education business!
Rutgers did NOT drop swimming so they could divert money to the football program. Swimming, along with the 5 other sports, were cut because the state decreased our budget. The football team had nothing to do with it. Football and the 6 cut sports are completely independent of each other.
Furthermore, why can't Rutgers be a successful academic institution and have a competitive athletic department at the same time? Michigan does it. UNC does it. UCLA does it. Duke does it. Why can't we?
I have worked in higher education for almost 30 years and seen first hand how schools have to sell their souls for athletic success. The ONLY reason the schools you mention have it both ways is that they have been doing it for so long. It is now impossible to MOVE UP into those ranks athletically without making major compromises with academics. Only a few years ago Rutgers was called a public ivy, not any more.
Do you realize how flawed your argument is? Those schools didn't have to start somewhere? Their prowess in both acadmics and athletics just sponataneously materialized? Please. If you can't see how illogical that is, there's no point in debating this. It is not "impossible" to improve one without compromising the other. To state otherwise is just foolish. The academic and athletic department are independent entities. The school isn't diverting money away from academics and towards athletics.
The major college football powerhouses became such BEFORE the system became totally corrupted.
Do you have any clue how universities work? "The academic and athletic department are independent entities." I have seen firsthand how athletics can rule an institution. And the student-athletes are the real losers.
And do you know anything about college sports? Why did Urban Meyer not go to Notre Dame? Because they would not lower their academic standards for incoming athletes.
You cite your "firsthand" experience, but completely ignore the other side of the coin. You insist that a school cannot grow its athletic department without sacrificing academic integrity, which is flat out incorrect. I'm sure schools have compromised their academics ti improve their athletics, but state that is cannot be done is simply ignorant. For example, look at Cal's reemergence under Jeff Tedford. Is Cal all of a sudden a bad school because they re-invested in their football progeam?
Futhermore, since Rutgers is the basis of this argument, explain to me how our student-athletes have suffered. And please, don't refer back to the 6 cut spots. If you're pissed about that, go complain to the idiots in Trenton. Look at the improved graduation rates of the football players under Schiano's watch. Go look at the APR scores. Then consider the fact that Rutgers doesn't have any joke majors like Florida. And then consider the fact we've had Draddy finalists 3 years in a row.
You refuse to deal with reality: those sports were cut and more and more money has gone into the black hole called Rutgers football. Students on those teams suffered. Rutgers' reputation as a public ivy suffered. But the politicians, their cronies, and people who care about nothing but football gained. No matter what you say, that is the truth.
It was announced on Friday, 12/07/07, that Greg Schiano is not going to Michigan. So, for the following reasons, I believe that Schiano will stay at Rutgers forever:
1. Schiano is a Jersey guy, and building a solid program from scratch in his home state has to be the most special feeling.
2. He turned down Miami, and Michigan, two storied programs, in one year.
Wow, of all the programs that have tradition, Syracuse is probably the most down right now. Did you all know that Syracuse is 14th all-time in wins? That is impressive! Also, Syracuse has produced some great players:
Supposedly, Greg Robinson made some uncalled for comments after Syracuse lost to WVU. Does anyone know what they were? It is obvious that he is frustrated, and that is understandable. However, by saying such comments, I am wondering if he is meant to be the head coach at Syracuse.
What did he say that was wrong? Rutgers IS a one-year wonder. They've sucked for over 100 years, and they'll suck for the next 100. Can you say, OVERRATED? West Virginia and USF will beat you by 50. I hope you all enjoyed your dream season that ended in a bowl game that nobody saw last season.
What did he say that was wrong? Well, in his world, and as far as Syracuse is concerned, RU is a 3 year wonder... It is so nice for us to be beating the tar out of 'cuse year after year, I frickin despise them, and their fans are the biggest wuss-bag crybabies I've ever seen. Now we know their gay coach is also.
Robinson only touched on what people are beginning to know. The can't coach, but he's not afraid of calling a spade a spade or calling him out. The funniest thing was Schiano's overreaction to Robinson's sarcastic smile and hand shake.
Yeah, keep telling yourself that, 'cuse loser. We'll see as the season goes on about the "one-hit wonder". As for Schiano, you call that an "overreaction"??? LOL, all he did was smirk and walk away. Why are 'cuse fans such thin-skinned losers? Bunch of phaggots, that's why.
I know you aren't talking to me, but I have to tell you that I think Rutgers is going to have a winning program for many, many years. Greg Schiano, who is having a beautiful house built next to the stadium, isn't going anywhere. And, kids growing up in New Jersey who in the past would dream of one day playing for Penn State, Michigan, or Miami, are going to be dreaming of playing for the Scarlet Knights. Amen?
Doesn't Robinson look exactly like Captain Harris from the Police Academy movies? The only difference is that Captain Harris was much less of an all-talk incompetent douchebag.
Rutgers being a one year wonder.......that was like the ONE thing Robinson was right about during his 4 long years at Syracuse.

Well, you are right about Robinson not having done anything.
If Greg Robinson goes 6-6 or better in the 2008 regular season, IMHO, his job will be saved.
If Syracuse goes 5-7, there is a chance that his job might be saved.
However, if Syracuse goes 4-8 or worse, IMHO, there will be a new coach in 2009.
