  • Jack White 3! :D

  • The drums on this sound exactly like the drums on Dick Dale's Miserlou.

  • Frog Went A Courtin

  • What album is this song from? I've always thought it was on their self titled album, but its not.

  • @blackmath8 it's not it's their first single ever released. only 1,000 thousand vinyl copies were originally made.

  • @blackmath8 I'm pretty sure it's on The Great White Northern Lights.

  • @blackmath8 Its the b-side to fell in love with a girl

  • Is this song suppose to be sexual? lol

  • Soy el visitante/viewer #30000

    Let's shake hands everybody!

  • And with the sound of thunder and lightning the White Stripes were born.

  • that's right ;D

  • youtube.com/watch?v=YW840jezj0Q

here's a cover of this song i made with my band shunt. Watch, rate and comment :D

  • Anyone else not know there was a studio version till now? I've only seen the live.

  • @jacobnrrs How long have you like them?

  • @andyscoot43 Not long enough. I only caught wind of them about a year or two ago. Twas a bleak life till then.

  • @jacobnrrs Same here, but i started with this song and worked my way through the discography.

  • i live in hope that in a couple years maybe, we'll see a reunion. it's such a shame that one of the best modern bands came to an end.

  • I love this band, was really looking forward to their new album /:

  • its one of their best songs

  • The White Stripes broke up today, it's on their website.

I'm so depressed :'( Let's shake hands is one of their first ever songsss D':

  • @H5gj first ever recorded to be exact, and yes, im sad too

  • :) :) :) :)

  • well, lets just say there is no one praying harder than me, ;)

  • DIY as shit

  • Icky Thump wasnt a let down. Not having a new WHITE STRIPES cd for over 3 years was a let down. I want more to cover

  • Dude, this is amazing and all . cuz this song is just damn fun to listen too .

but hearing it live is just like.. 123098778326419820943854 times better :p

  • white stripes > dead weather

  • @BodoGewalt I actually enjoy the Dead Weather more, just because Jack can branch out and they're doing different stuff from the Stripes and the Raconteurs - and I really like Alison Mosshart and Jack Lawrence.

  • @Lucifersteapot Fair enough man! I just like the raw energy they had going on back in the day, a thing I miss in most of todays bands. And while I'm sure that the Dead Weather does a great job it just does not touch me on the same level as TWS do.

Anyways, rock on and don't forget to boogie!

  • white stripes > every band

  • @BodoGewalt I agree with you 100% on that. I want a new White Stripes cd so badly. Icky Thump really let me down....

  • @KiwiPeach13

According to White..."It's weird going to a different White Stripes," or something like that cause this Stripes album after Icky Thump is gonna be completely different from all the others. Don't quote me on that...I read it somewhere I just forgot where. But It's gonna be a great album, you know why? Look at how much he's grown on the guitar? Compare it from his debut to now.

  • it sounds like he's smoked a bunch of cigarettes when he screams BABY LETS SHAKE HANDS! five stars

  • Well, this is nothing like The Big Three Killed My Baby, better in my opinion. His voice and lyrics on this is reminicent of Robert Plant, the guitars are obviously MC5-ish chord progression with Stooges raw fuzz. Drums are just White Stripes. Nothing really as minimalist as Meg White's style. All in all, amazing song.

  • Thanks NME (Y)

  • I like the White Stripes and this song is kick ass but a lot of their early stuff sounds the same to me. This song reminds me exactly like another one of their songs but I can't think of the name. Does anyone else get that impression?

  • @TheClash122 stop breaking down?

  • @streetsidenomad thats a cover

  • @Heloquist yeah i know of robert johnson but the song still remains valid

  • @TheClash122 When I first listened to Surfer Rosa by the Pixies; I didn't have any context for that kind of music and I thought it was dead boring. Years later I gave it a proper listening, having the context of the music that led up to it, and I realized how diverse their songs were. It's the same way with any genre, including classical, country, punk, etc. Though the fact that Jack White branches out into so many genres could dissuade you from realizing how diverse he is within each style.

  • Their very first single! <3333
