Well done man. More power to the people who make even the slightest difference to this world of plain. I love the Jaguar v12 and own a late model supercharged XJR as well. I have a Ferrari 360, twin turbo Merc and I prefer driving my beautiful 77 Daimler Double Six. Your engine sounds fantastic! I think I might be making some upgrades now :-) Cheers.
Very nice indeed!!! I have an 86' XJS with the 5.3he that I drive daily. In the spring, the exhaust will be gone through. I would love to add the carb mod. looks and sounds GREAT!! Unless you have a jag V-12 you will never understand...
Mercedes once claimed the V12 Jag engine was the best engine designed. I've built a couple of them and can agree. Once set up, they are a dream to run - especially the may-head ones (post 1976).
@pooch332 Wow! Where have YOU been for 2 months? Broken down on the side of the road, crying and fixing your little piece of shit? Hahaha! You kill me, man. :) You ARE an idiot, but always good for a laugh, though.
whilst maternal pride is irrelevant, I would guess that your mother isn't proud of you?
Yes, I actually had a hand in building an injected engine with individual throttle bodies. Only a small capacity, GM-based 4-cylinder, but still of utmost relevance
The thing is, the carburettors are actually in plain view (albeit blurry) below the bodies and behind the fuel rails
So you're showing your ignorance by missing that and your poor grasp of written (and probably spoken) English
ITB injection looks very similar and the pictures grainy so I asked and u try to seem clever at my expence but make yourself look like a dick, sad really.
@pooch332 Aww, that's so sweet. Your favorite bronze metal out in the shed. No wonder you're such a fucking sucker for shit made by Jaguar. Maybe you'll do better one day. Stop watching porn, jerking off and drinking so much. That might help.
@pooch332 Like I said, even your favorite top speed Jag, the XJ220, made its record on a massaged version of the car. So if we're gonna play by those rules, the Calloway Sledgehammer Corvette ran 254.8 mph back in 1988. There are videos of it doing that on Youtube. You don't seem to be laughing so much or making so many jokes now. Wonder why that is? Oh well, enjoy your porn.
@pooch332 That was the XFR, shitstick, & it was NOT a "standard motor". You ain't goin 225 with 510 hp, moron. The Jag engine that did it was hand built by Rocketsports Racing, (who are from Michigan, btw) FROM a production engine. No emissions stuff, lots of tweaking, to make substantially more hp than a production engine. They needed 6 miles to get to that speed, too. On the Bonneville salt flats. If you wanna go THAT direction, the Corvette would BLISTER it. I DO own 2 Vettes, fyi, fuckrag.
@pooch332 Oh, the vette just won at the 24 hrs of LeMans, AGAIN also. I'm sure you've got an excuse for that one too. Nah, you'll pretend to laugh at something that has NOTHING to do w anything I just said. That's what you normally do. That's because you don't have anything worthwhile to say. Go ahead though, try to weasel your way out of this one. It's always fun to see you try to dodge the questions I ask w something that is nowhere NEAR what I asked. Go ahead, call me a name or something.
@pooch332 Explain this, Mr. Motor. Why is it that even though GM DOES build OHC engines in current production cars, they instead use pushrod engines in their high performance cars if the OHC engines are so much better? Before you go blabbering off some ignorant bullshit, remember, the CTS-V set the record at the Nurburgring for the fastest production v8 sedan in 2009. The ZR1 Corvette also set a record there in 08 AND just took it again in 2011, ALL of them using pushrod V8s. Look it up.
@pooch332 When did I try to explain my way out of anything? Where exactly did I fuck up? All I'm doing is pointing out where all of your dribble fails. Like it or not, you're getting handled. Can't answer anything I ask you, can't throw out some bullshit that I can't prove you wrong on. How are you winning here? In fact, name me 1 single thing that you've "schooled" me on in this entire argument! Facts beat opinions all day long. That means you lose. Over & over & over again. Just keep drinking.
@pooch332 Well, I'll give it to you. You might just be a fucking drunk. There's always reasons for people having problems with alcoholism. You'd probably say that as long as the alcohol doesn't run out, there IS no problem. Admitting you have a problem, that's the 1st step. Then there are only 11 more steps after that. You should try to stop, that shit is rotting your brain. Fact: alcohol kills brain cells, you loose a few more, you're a talking monkey.
@pooch332 ...confidence WAAAY too high for your own good. I prove you wrong, I point out your lies, I ask questions that you can't answer, I answer yours & make you look foolish. Are you a glutton for punishment or something? Maybe you should just put down that bottle, go pick another hobby, & move on with your life. You might be a loser, but there comes a point when you have to be content with what you are. Car talk is NOT for you. Read more, talk less, a LOT less, that'll help. And don't cry.
@pooch332 So you say this, then when I prove to you that it was true & show you how it wasn't GM's fault, THEN it's funny & you start hitting the bottle. I think you might just be drinking to forget how sad it is that you can't make ONE fucking valid point. Not 1. Maybe you should just shut up again, like you did before. I didn't chase you down to prove how wrong you were & how ignorant you sounded, I let it go. But you just couldn't help yourself, & let that other idiot build your....(cont)
@pooch332 "HAHAHA", yes. It was introduced for the 1961 model year as a Buick 215 & in it's highest hp form made 200 hp. It's nickname was the "BOP 215" for the engine (BOP standing for Buick/Oldsmobile/Pontiac). It had problems with oil & coolant sealing as well as the antifreeze clogging the radiator because it was incompatible with the aluminium. They stopped making them from aluminium in 63, & went back to cast iron & made them successfully for decades. Keep drinking, it'll help you forget.
@pooch332 Got you in the bottle already? Damn. Didn't realize you were taking this so personally. Oh well. Hey, you can also ask them how much they like getting their asses handed to them by the z06 and the ZR1 for about half the cost while you're writing to them. It might be a bit of a sore subject for them, but I'm sure you're better at SOMETHING than talking about cars. Just finesse them a little. Maybe writing is more your thing, hmm? Doesn't seem to be, but you never know.
@pooch332 ...why were they going to the "shit, pushrod engines" that GM was making? Hmmm. What's hilarious is how when GM said fuck it, rover tried to build them themselves. They sucked, AND had less horsepower! All the way up to 2003 when they cut their losses. FAIL.
@pooch332 ONCE AGAIN, dickless, you're wrong. In the early 60s, Rover wanted Buick to build an aluminum engine out of an engine they already made because it was a great engine & produced a lot of power for it's size. The Aluminum was a bad idea, & by 64, they stopped making it. They continued to make it out of iron until 1980 & a v6 derivative until 2008. So it was NOT a bad engine design, it was the aluminum fancy pants bullshit. Rover had built a V8 before that, why did they stop?...(cont)
@pooch332 Hey look! You know the names of a couple of parts! GOOD JOB! Now tell me what's the problem with them? They've been using them, for the most part, unchanged since 1955. Millions and millions of cars on the road w those engines in them and they run just fine. If there were any "inherent problems" with them, they'd go to something else to turn a profit, wouldn't they? You're the kind of dumbass that would try to reinvent the wheel, aren't ya? Moron.
@pooch332 Must be pretty embarrassing to get your ass handed to you on the track or on the street by a "cheap" car, huh? Keep your fancy pants, Rube Goldberg engine. If it doesn't make as much power, if it isn't as reliable, then you can have it. The 2 most powerful cars on the road, vying for the top spot? A W16 with 4 turbo chargers & 11 radiators, AND a twin turbo V8 pushrod GM engined car w 1 radiator. Fancy, elaborate engines don't mean shit. You don't know shit, IDK why I'm explaining it.
@pooch332 Sounds like a bullshit excuse to me. Shocker. I know the rules, tithead. The NHRA rules don't have shit to do with what I asked you. Why is it that you never answer questions, you just dribble off more bullshit? Explain how more moving parts don't equal more points of failure. I can't WAIT to hear THAT shit. "my country's bigger than yours", you'd probably argue about THAT shit too. Idiot.
You seem to be pissed off, why's that? Is it because you're full of shit & you can't slide it past me or is it just because you're wrong? Land Rover Disco IIs were designed by the Conran Design Group in London. Their engines were built there. Cry all you want, but AGAIN, you're wrong. OH, & I almost forgot. How do the v12 Jags do in drag racing? They must be REALLY fast with the OHC & 4 more cylinders & such. Why don't you tell me ALL about it. I'm listening! It'll be fun, just give it a shot.
@pooch332 So tell me the last top fuel race that left parts all over the track. Everything breaks @ some point, especially making over 7k hp. BUT, true to form, you're just talking more bullshit than truth. Typical. Tell me something that YOU wrote so I can read it. So do they run those fabulous McGhee brothers OHC v8s where YOU live? How fast do the do the 1/4 mile in? MUST be over 330 mph like it is here. Like you said, we limit ours to 500 ci & don't use OHC engines. What do they do there?
And what "inherent problems" are you referring to, exactly? Also, if they don't "cut it" from an engineering standpoint, what are car manufacturers doing putting them into new cars? Why are some that have gone away from them, coming back to the pushrod V8? You seem to think that the dohc engine is a new idea. A 1929 Duesenberg Model J had double overhead cams & 4 valves per cylinder (designed & built in America, btw). So humor me, oh great engineer/engine builder, school me on the high points.
@pooch332 If you've been building engines longer than I've been alive, no wonder you don't know shit. You're senile. So you say that you attend drag races, but don't know w what I meant by 1/4 mile? Hmm. More moving parts make more weight, take up more space, & have more points of failure. The Vette still uses a pushrod v8 because it's smaller, shorter, cheaper, lighter & more reliable than OHC. Why do the most powerful engines in the world use single cam pushrod v8 engines? 7k to 9k hp (NHRA)?
@pooch332 And, YES. I HAVE built/rebuilt quite a few cars in my life. In fact, I just finished rebuilding my brother's 4.0 liter Land Rover v8. It's a pushrod v8, built by the English & it sucks. Less than 100K miles on it, & already fucking up. Gets it serviced regularly, but that doesn't help. I have a GMC pick up truck w around 329K miles on it, & it runs like a champ. I've never had problems out of either of the 2 Corvettes I own. Keep working on your bicycle, sonny. Don't argue, learn.
@pooch332 REALLY? I was saying you don't know shit about cars/performance, but fuck man. You REALLY DON'T know ANYthing about them, do you? Before we go any further, do you know what drag racing is? What about "0 to 60"? What about horsepower (hp), torque (tq) cubic inches (ci)? You HAVE seen a car before, right? I want to make sure I'm not arguing w someone who couldn't even change his own oil before I continue. I already feel like I'm wasting my time w a moron, I didn't actually think i was.
@pooch332 Top speed is a very funny laugh? What's funny about it? Explain. skid·pad/ˈskidˌpad/
Noun: A road surface used for testing the ability of automobiles to withstand lateral acceleration. I said a word that you didn't understand, so I figured I'd clarify. Before I commented on someone else's brain, or lack thereof, I wouldn't embarrass myself by showing the level to which I know less than the person I was talking shit about. It shows ignorance & immaturity, which you have in spades.
@pooch332 Like I said earlier, keep proving how fucking little you know about cars. It only proves my point every time you speak. Keep up the good work.
@pooch332 ...not the top speed & most DEFINITELY not the skid pad numbers. If it's a "lady car", then what the fuck does that make your pretentious, underpowered v12? I'm guessing that makes it just a figment of your vivid imagination. Just some poster on your wall right next to the dicks you like to talk so much about. You don't have a thing to laugh about. But there's nothing wrong with being a happy idiot. If it works for you, that works for me.
@pooch332 No, you sound like you have nothing to say. Nothing to back your mouth up. You'll say something about dicks, then pretend something I say is funny. The truth is, you DON'T have anything worthwhile to add here. If you need proof that, the oil embargo era notwithstanding, a v12 jag is inferior in it's performance to a Corvette in ALL areas including the engine which has time & a half as many cylinders as the Vette. Not the power, not the torque, not the 1/4 mile, not 0-60,...(cont)
@pooch332 I think you wanted me to say something so you could figure out how you could talk about somebody's dick again. You seem to be very fond of them.
@pooch332 Nah, all of my cars & trucks make the same noises it does, so I don't have to. They have V8s in them. Just like my "dream car" does. They sure as hell couldn't make the same noise as cars or engines built in NZ make, could they? Tell you what, why don't you build NZs very first REAL car company? They'd make the Yugo look like a Rolls Royce, but, you could always say you were NZs first REAL car company! Maybe you could put motorcycle engines in them & use the block for a frame! Huh???
@pooch332 Oh yeah, go check out the next American nightmare waiting to make your McLaren look like a little bitch. Shelby Super Cars website. 1200 hp & weighs 1/3rd less than a Bugatti. Yep. American.
@pooch332 ...no one had done THAT before, right? So, what does that make him? A glorified engine builder? Since we're going THAT route, America's SSC builds a MUCH faster car in the Ultimate Aero TT (GM pushrod V8 motor, btw). Lucky for us though, McLaren conceptualized the less weight/more power thing, huh? IDK if we could've ever done it without him! What a pioneer! SO, until Uncle Chester up there came along, you'd gotten REALLY quiet. Why? Bite off more than you could chew? I'd say you did.
@pooch332 Irritated is a better word. I guess cock suckers like you 2 can smell your own, huh? And what is it w the 2 of you & your odd fascination with teenage boys, anyway? This is a conversation about cars. The McLaren never bothered me. He used someone else's motor bc NZ doesn't build their own, right? So old Bruce took a motor he didn't build, made it WAY more powerful than it was from the factory, put tons of power into a light package, & BOOM! Fast car. Wow. Brilliant concept (cont)
@pooch332 Being called an "inbreed", (inbred?) by you is comical. We'd walk into a Britten Motorcycle dealership over here if they existed. They must be FANTASTIC since no one has one. Let me guess, the number 1 country on the planet just isn't cool enough for your bikes, right? Right. Keep telling yourself that while imagining you matter.
@pooch332 Yeah, the whole pamphlet was filled with every single fact EVER about the entire country's history! Quite possibly the world's most interesting bi-fold. Back to the bikes, a Harley V-Rod ran the 1/4 mile in 8.811 seconds at 145.29mph. Is that slow? What did the Britten do it in?
@drtyfknmouth Seriously ....that is slow for the 1/4 today. without mentioning Hyabusa ,you can buy a korean harley look a like which will do 11 sec 1/4's .
@pooch332 YES! The less than 20 year old company! Nice to get into the game @ some point in history. Finishing 2nd & 3rd in America in motorcycles is pretty good. Second place IS the first loser, though. So motorcycles, atoms, what about cars? None of those, huh? Where are Harleys? Millions of people are riding them, making thousands of motorcycle clubs around them. That's where they are. Where are Brittens? In some NZ museum where NZ people stare at them & talk about how great they were in 91?
@pooch332 At the end of the day, you're wrong. Plain as day, clear as crystal, WRONG, on all fronts. Face it, crybaby bitch. First, move somewhere that actually HAS some sort of automotive history. Some of us grew up around the automotive industry, we didn't just read this shit when our country finally got the internet. You can split an atom, but can't build a car. Keep fantasizing about being a country that the automotive industry couldn't live without. Keep internet racing. THAT'S what's real.
@pooch332 ...Walkinshaw helped develop that V6 in the XJ220, I'd call that even. $580K doesn't seem like such a deal to me. Watch the video on Youtube. It killed your 1 trick pony. Kind of like Rutherford & your entire country. Nobody else knows he did it, because that's all he did. It took people from somewhere else to figure out what to do with it. Otherwise, it was useless. Like you & the rest of your country. Save the Maori bullshit. Nobody but you knows/cares about that either. You lose.
@pooch332 ...set a world record, it was modified from its "stock standard form". So I guess you're right about anybody being able to modify for power, huh? It was also turbo charged, NOT naturally aspirated. The Z06 corvette produces 505 hp w/ NO power adders. Put a twin turbo charger on that & see what the top speed is. It would make your Jag look like a pussy. Since Callaway built the sledge hammer who murdered your top speed record back in the 80's, I guess the fact that Tom ...(cont'd)
@pooch332 You mean like the Chevy/Ford/Mopar naturally aspirated pushrod engines producing over 800 hp at any race track in the states on any weekend night? How about the supercharged pushrod v8 engines of the NHRA that are limited to 500 cubic inches or less and still produce 8-9k horsepower? Yep, we can go all day about our "crappy" pushrod v8s. I'm sure if Jag engines were making 800 hp, it would have to be guys in the states doing it. When your favorite car in the world, the XJ220..(cont)
@pooch332 They don't make "fast enough production cars" because they don't need to. People BUILDING the fastest cars in the world use their engines, thereby proving that they build the best engines, capable of world beating speeds. No v12s OR jags there, sonny boy. Want apples to apples? 2011 Jaguar XJ Supersport,Top speed-161 mph, $113,200. 2011 ZR1 Corvette,Top speed- 205mph top speed, in 5th gear at that! PRODUCTION CAR. As for the Enola Gaye, Sie sprechen German jetzt wegen ihrer nicht!
@pooch332 So what you're saying is that it took Jaguar 26 years to figure out how to equal a Corvette made in the late 60s. Oh yeah, you should be beaming with pride! Congratulations on taking more than a 1/4 of a century just to catch up. Since you want to go that route, let's say in THAT case, your new $50k-$60K car is just as fast as our new $6500 car. AGAIN, you're trumped by your own argument. AND, who'd take that POS Jag over an L88 Corvette?? Someone as ignorant as you are, I suppose.
@pooch332 In addition, the Koenigsegg is faster than the xj220. It used a Ford engine. The Saleen S7 uses a Ford engine, The Aero TT uses a Corvette engine, do you see a pattern forming here, Crocodile Dumbdee? ALL faster than the fastest Jag made, ALL V8 American engines. Face it, you lose. Just like your country, you have nothing to brag about at all. Tell me one fucking thing your country has invented that it can be proud of. ONE thing. I dare you. Give it a shot. You're getting handled here.
@pooch332 Really now? Well what did they say powered the SSC Ultimate Aero TT when it beat the Bugatti Veyron in the Guinness world record for top speed in a production car a couple of years ago? If I'm not wrong, that had a twin turbo'd C5 Corvette engine. HMMM? In fact, NASA said that it could reach over 270 mph if it had a long enough stretch to do so. As for speed, how about NHRA dragsters that go 0-330+ mph in 1/4 mile? They don't use V12s OR overhead cams. Wanna talk Bonneville salt flats?
@pooch332 The best thing that a Jag ever did was to let an American chick dance all over the hood of 2 of them in a fucking Whitesnake video. How do you make an engine w/ 4 extra cylinders that only makes 340 hp in it's most potent, all aluminium form, when GM almost doubled that number with only 8 cylinders? Corvettes had 340 hp back in the early 60s in standard Corvettes! All your "comfort, quietness, & class" are a piss poor excuse for a lack of performance. Beaten by a "ladies car", HAHA!
@pooch332 I'm making fun of you, ya ignorant twat, you're just too obtuse to get it. New Zealand doesn't make mistakes simply because it doesn't make ANY fucking thing. Face it, you're an Australia rip-off. If you think that that fucking 70s v12 Jag would outrun a 1967, 68, or 69 L88 Corvette w/ 550-570 hp @ 6200-6400 rpms, & 470 ft. lbs @ 5200 rpms right off the showroom floor w/ a pushrod v8, then you've out of your koala-fucking mind. They topped out at 172 mph. Care to add anything to that?
@pooch332 Standard WARRANTY, Crocodile cunt. You ordered them through the GM dealership and they were warranted just like any other new Chevy vehicle was. Education really isn't considered very important over there, is it? When you come off of "walkabout", pick up a book. Start with the ones with lots of pictures first.
@pooch332 ...Because your profile says that your country is "New Zealand", professor, THATS why. So if it's fucked up, it's only because you fucked it up. Aww, you're just embarrassed about how your little country doesn't do shit. That's sad, for you. It's ok if you don't know shit from shinola about a car, you probably don't even own one. But hey, surf boards are cool. If I ever need to use a didgeridoo, I'll call you, k? Oh wait, your country didn't invent those either, did they?...Damn.
@pooch332 OOOOH! YOU'RE a New Zealander! I'm sorry. MAN! I was giving you WAY too much credit calling you British! NEW ZEALAND, the fucking epicenter of automobilia, right??? JESUS CHRIST!! Look, stick to surfing or boomerangs or whatever the fuck it is you do down there (nobody else knows shit about you either) & the rest of us talk cars. So tie me kangaroo down, sport, or wtf ever you goofy little fuckers say there. Hahaha! What the fuck has your little piss ant country EVER done?? Holy shit.
@drtyfknmouth Two names Bruce Mclaren , Bob Wallace. Both Kiwis, Both taught America what fast is all about in a car . Bob is still doing it in the USA in his old age.
look at the symbol on any Mercedes SLR ,note that it looks like a Kiwi? because it's a homage to bruce McLaren , the same name that won last weeks F1 grand-prix , the same name on the McLaren F1 road car with BMW V12
Look at the V`12 engine in any Lamborghini and think of the name Bob Wallace,NZ born and Educated .
@Mercmad So, a whole country, 2 names, and no production car company. Right on. Nice work. You want fast? We'll give you the NHRA, Bonneville, etc. You want names? Not enough room. Car companies? Innovations? History? Do you REALLY want to go lick for lick here? Look, I'm mostly giving this other guy shit because he's a fucktard. I have nothing against NZ, or Jaguar, or anybody else, for that matter. I'm just giving him shit. I came here to see a more powerful v12 Jag. He just wouldn't shut up.
@drtyfknmouth a country with less than 3 million people. Bonneville? Burt Munro, Casey hill, Billy ward and many others from down under own SCTA records. I have run 200 myself on the salt in 1998 so dont go there unless you read the SCTA records (online ) and see where a lot of have run there . Innovation ?Penicillin, the first smashing of the atom? The first turbocharged car ( Jumbo Goddards twin turbo 1928 bentley) .and i can go on for hours. Small Country, big reputation .
@Mercmad Boy you guys just can't give it up, can ya? I don't give a frogs fat ass about how fast you've gone on Bonneville, it's HERE. THAT was the point. I did almost 170 last night on the interstate here, so big fucking deal. Sounds more like Small country, big ego to me. Please, feel free to go on. We've got all the hours you need to come up with EVERYthing your county has done for the automotive world. OR, anywhere else for that matter. I didn't ask for this, but you sure are. Your move.
@drtyfknmouth 170? 170 what? you old enough to have a license? At least my name is in the records and I dont have to bullshit on here to prove anything..reading your posts you must be all of 13 years old. Post up a vid of your 'what ever'doing 170 and we will believe you ,but no xbox vids OK?
@Mercmad Who the FUCK needs or is asking for YOUR goddamn blessing or belief, Mr 200 mph? I don't GIVE a rat's ass what you believe! Get out more! The fucking rednecks down the street w a turbo charged mustang go over 200 mph in the 1/4 every fucking weekend! They don't need the goddamn SALT FLATS to do it! What do you need to hit 200? About 600 hp? Monkey shit! "I'M IN THE RECORD BOOKS GOING 200". You shit your pants when you did it too, didn't you? And you're STILL jackin off ...(cont'd)
...all over yourself about it today, apparently! Even Boyd Coddington's old lady went 200mph out there! HAHA! You go 300 & THEN somebody'll give a shit about your opinion. 200 was broken back in 1927! When you go faster than a bike I can buy off the showroom floor today & outrun you, THEN you can brag about it. Otherwise, STFU "Mr. 200 mph"! Show us YOUR video, since you have so much to prove. Then we can all laugh about how excited you get about your one moment of glory back in 1998. Fuck off.
Respond to this video... Funny no other 'American' has responded to you. I suspect you are in fact a 13 year old Pakistani Alqueda spy with a big hole in your butt where your lover boy feeds you everynight with his pork sword.. Right? because you sure dont know much about cars in general.
@Mercmad Why the fuck would an American respond to what I'm saying @ ALL when I'm talking to some self important cock gobbler from a gnat shit speck on the map droning on & on about all the great shit NZ has done with cars? You seem to be 1 confused asshole who is more concerned about a 13 year old boy's asshole getting penetrated than the point @ hand. Go back & re-read everything before you continue your little screed, pedophile. Make a fucking point instead of making an ass out of yourself.
@pooch332 Oh, you're saying you were wrong & you're tired of being made to look like a fool because you didn't know shit about whatever it was you were yammering on like an idiot about. Ok. That's all you had to say. I own 2 Vettes & a few other cars & trucks with pushrod v8s in them. They ALL work better than your worthless shit. The difference between us & you is when we talk shit, we back it up. Don't be mad because the talent left you. That was well over 200 years ago. Get over it already.
@pooch332 Beating it on the track DOES make it faster. That doesn't even make any fucking sense. Then you have the audacity to call someone else stupid. HAH!
@pooch332 Why don't you stop being a coward and look the video up on youtube for yourself? There's a long video here where it actually shows the Sledgehammer make the record. OR, keep your ignorant head up your tight ass like normal and you can pretend to be the best. We've been beating your ass since the 1700s, why would the 80s be any different? Just for fun, look up the "slowest" Corvette. The 1984 crossfire v8. It beat Ferrari, Lotus & Porsche on the track with .95g on the skidpad, FACTORY!
@pooch332 Oh yeah, & 1 more thing, Mary Poppins. Since you wanna talk about the XJ220, which was a collaboration effort with Tom Walkinshaw Racing, I suppose the Callaway Corvette twin turbo Sledgehammer isn't off topic. Yep, XJ220 (92-94), of which 1 was modified from standard to achieve 217 mph. 1988, the Sledgehammer reaches 254.7mph. Production, standard GM 12 mo./12,000 mile warranty, twin turbo'd, pushrod V8 Yankee shit. Right back to second place again, huh, tea & crumpets?
@pooch332 it already DID, tithead. It beat it on the track. Not just beat it, fucking RAPED it. Go check out the numbers. You got fucking embarrassed by "pushrod Yankee shit", so what does that say about what YOU are? If you read more, you'd spend less time with your foot in your mouth. But I guess thats to be expected.
@pooch332 Apples to apples? The LT, LS series engines etc are basically the same small block, push rod v8 engine that GM produced way back in 1955. They were making production cars in the 60s with nearly 500 hp! "New technology" my dick! If your new technology won't beat our old technology, then what fucking good is it? The 2012 XKR-S is 550 hp. The 2009 ZR1 is 638 hp. Faster in every way. But let me guess, YOU'VE got better seats, right? Hope they're waterproof for all your tears when you lose.
Very nice sounding engine , definitely some decent money poured into this motor. What sort of power did it end up making may I ask ? I am going to guess it's the flat head series motor yes ?
@pooch332 Too bad I can't forgive your stupidity no matter where you're from since you obviously don't know what you're talking about. Do more research and come back if you're not too embarrassed.

@pooch332 Oh, so you don't know what the GM LS engine series is? Wow. I thought you didn't know what the hell you were talking about. Now I'm sure of it.
@drtyfknmouth Just so everything is put into perspective here, & since you're on that "stupid American" shit, why not cruise on over to check out the Nurburgring times? The highest Jag number (XJ 220) comes in at 48th place. WELL below those "slow" American push rod cars with their "ancient technology" & suspension that makes them "only go fast in a straight line". You're not interested in Chevys? Well TAKE interest, fucker. They're beating you at your own track, straight line & in the twists.
@pooch332 It would HAVE to sit at full throttle all day stay on the same track with an LS engined car. Even then the only time you'd see the Chevy in your rear view mirror is when it's coming up behind you to pass you again.
I refurbished around 5 Jaguar V12 engines and they are not all that bad, yes on relability grounds they are bad but with modern technology and understanding i.e. computer designed cranks and other engine parts, these flaws are easily smoothed out, at a cost.
Jag V-12 s are junk.I worked at a European auto shop as a tech, and we hated when Jags came in,no one wanted to work on them. The V 12 s would break cranks all the time, and we replaced so many of them with 350 Chevys. They would bolt right up,since the Jags used a turbo 400 trans. The Chevy was a much more reliable, and more powerful engine.

@exilemike Engines become overly complicated to the point of superfluous. Interesting how the lowly, simple 350 becomes a superior power plant in the end. It's impressive to see this V12 all worked up, and it sounds the way you want a snarling V12 to sound. To me that is how a V12 should be, tuned to an inch of its life with carburetors. Not the fat, lazy, fuel injected slugs they turned into powering equally fat Jaguars. To me the engine in this video is as impressive as any '60s Ferrari V12.
I would take any v12, US or English or Italian....
Detroit 12V diesel 2 stroke, pierce arrow v12, Packard 12v, Duesenberg v12, Cadillac v12, Lincoln v12, Merlin v12 plane engine, Roles Royce made both plane and car v12s, Seagrave v12, Mercedes v12, Chevy 702 v12, Ferrari v12, Aston Martin v12 and of course jag v12.
Can't forget the Bugatti v12 from the Varon.
Probably more.. Just can't think of any more right now.

I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice 4OHC Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree
@mrbimmer69 nothing but a ford tore ass. Well mister bimmer comparing to BMW lets see, older jags have bad electric issues and if not maintained by moronic social status weenies like BMW owners they can be unreliable. BMWs now, lets see you can count on blown automatic transmissions, bad water pumps by 80K, numerous electrical glitches, EGR problems by 90K, broken belt tesioners by 90K, Bimmer Snob !!
@infoNEV Make you right - I can personally only get one of these up to around 700 horse. I can put you in contact with an individual who got 800 horse. But I'm sure you would be able to do better with a chevy. One thing to bear in mind though; the only V8 that doesn't sound like shit is a DFV.
Use 1:100 (1%) two stroke oil in your tank to prevent tank and engine corrosion if you use the modern aggressive fuel that contain 5-10% methanol (not good for the old engine and fuel system materials!)

@discocreator76 Up until VERY recently, all Jaguars parts were supplied by Ford... ALL of them. Jaguar also has a reputation of being notoriously unreliable, like Ford. Why the hell are you simply spouting misinformation? Do you think that just because you say a name like Jaguar and then praise it, that people will think you know what you are talking about?
American V8s are inefficient yes, but they are not crude. The older ones you MUST be referring to are simplistic.
@circutracer150 Actually they werent!! The V8 was designed and made by Jaguar and had nothing to do with ford, Yea some of the cheap and crappy interior components were ford as well as the V6 engines.
@mickeymoose76 My uncle worked at Ford for 32 years, and personally made components for the V8 and V12 engines.
Go to ANY enthusiast site, or call even Jaguar themselves, and they will tell you hat those engines are Ford made... which really doesn't matter anyways since nothing has been truly foreign or domestic for almost 40 years now.
Hell, Toyota engines are cast right here in Troy MO, have been for years!
@circutracer150 weird ive yet to have an unreliable ford, and an unreliable jag. and ive had many of both. IIRC the older jags, decades bqack, were known to be unreliable BUT last couple decades, im not too sure of. Cheers
@yamahonkawazuki There is no doubt that the Jaguars of the last 2 decades, maybe a little less, have come a LONG way in reliability.
But more to the point, even if you have an older and less reliable one, you are STILL in a Jaguar, and that is always something special... quirks or no!
@iguana6699 Yes, it was. Jag using Ford parts and being successful doing it, is one of the major reasons Ford decided to buy Jaguar in the first place.

@REKOILSPRAYBOOTHS Slick git with the double six! I've only got the 'poor mans' XJ12, though mines a bit older, 1972.

Mercedes once claimed the V12 Jag engine was the best engine designed. I've built a couple of them and can agree. Once set up, they are a dream to run - especially the may-head ones (post 1976).

is that injected, I cant quite see for the pipes?
tpvalley 7 months ago
@tpvalley No. Those are six (6) Webber 2-barrel downdraft carburetors.

@tpvalley
but the 6 carburettors are in full view.....suggests to me it's not injected ;)

@iainthornton
very clever, ur mam must be proud.
have u ever seen throttle bodies?
u cant tel them apart from carbs in a picture like this with the large bore fuel pipes etc, u r showing your ignorance by trying to be clever.
tpvalley 5 months ago
@tpvalley
whilst maternal pride is irrelevant, I would guess that your mother isn't proud of you?

That might help.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 Like I said, even your favorite top speed Jag, the XJ220, made its record on a massaged version of the car. So if we're gonna play by those rules, the Calloway Sledgehammer Corvette ran 254.8 mph back in 1988. There are videos of it doing that on Youtube. You don't seem to be laughing so much or making so many jokes now. Wonder why that is? Oh well, enjoy your porn.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 That was the XFR, shitstick, & it was NOT a "standard motor". You ain't goin 225 with 510 hp, moron. The Jag engine that did it was hand built by Rocketsports Racing, (who are from Michigan, btw) FROM a production engine. No emissions stuff, lots of tweaking, to make substantially more hp than a production engine. They needed 6 miles to get to that speed, too. On the Bonneville salt flats. If you wanna go THAT direction, the Corvette would BLISTER it. I DO own 2 Vettes, fyi, fuckrag.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 Oh, the vette just won at the 24 hrs of LeMans, AGAIN also. I'm sure you've got an excuse for that one too. Nah, you'll pretend to laugh at something that has NOTHING to do w anything I just said. That's what you normally do. That's because you don't have anything worthwhile to say. Go ahead though, try to weasel your way out of this one. It's always fun to see you try to dodge the questions I ask w something that is nowhere NEAR what I asked. Go ahead, call me a name or something.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 Explain this, Mr. Motor. Why is it that even though GM DOES build OHC engines in current production cars, they instead use pushrod engines in their high performance cars if the OHC engines are so much better? Before you go blabbering off some ignorant bullshit, remember, the CTS-V set the record at the Nurburgring for the fastest production v8 sedan in 2009. The ZR1 Corvette also set a record there in 08 AND just took it again in 2011, ALL of them using pushrod V8s. Look it up.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 When did I try to explain my way out of anything? Where exactly did I fuck up? All I'm doing is pointing out where all of your dribble fails. Like it or not, you're getting handled. Can't answer anything I ask you, can't throw out some bullshit that I can't prove you wrong on. How are you winning here? In fact, name me 1 single thing that you've "schooled" me on in this entire argument! Facts beat opinions all day long. That means you lose. Over & over & over again. Just keep drinking.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 Well, I'll give it to you. You might just be a fucking drunk. There's always reasons for people having problems with alcoholism. You'd probably say that as long as the alcohol doesn't run out, there IS no problem. Admitting you have a problem, that's the 1st step. Then there are only 11 more steps after that. You should try to stop, that shit is rotting your brain. Fact: alcohol kills brain cells, you loose a few more, you're a talking monkey.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 ...confidence WAAAY too high for your own good. I prove you wrong, I point out your lies, I ask questions that you can't answer, I answer yours & make you look foolish. Are you a glutton for punishment or something? Maybe you should just put down that bottle, go pick another hobby, & move on with your life. You might be a loser, but there comes a point when you have to be content with what you are. Car talk is NOT for you. Read more, talk less, a LOT less, that'll help. And don't cry.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 So you say this, then when I prove to you that it was true & show you how it wasn't GM's fault, THEN it's funny & you start hitting the bottle. I think you might just be drinking to forget how sad it is that you can't make ONE fucking valid point. Not 1. Maybe you should just shut up again, like you did before. I didn't chase you down to prove how wrong you were & how ignorant you sounded, I let it go. But you just couldn't help yourself, & let that other idiot build your....(cont)
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 "HAHAHA", yes. It was introduced for the 1961 model year as a Buick 215 & in it's highest hp form made 200 hp. It's nickname was the "BOP 215" for the engine (BOP standing for Buick/Oldsmobile/Pontiac). It had problems with oil & coolant sealing as well as the antifreeze clogging the radiator because it was incompatible with the aluminium. They stopped making them from aluminium in 63, & went back to cast iron & made them successfully for decades. Keep drinking, it'll help you forget.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 Got you in the bottle already? Damn. Didn't realize you were taking this so personally. Oh well. Hey, you can also ask them how much they like getting their asses handed to them by the z06 and the ZR1 for about half the cost while you're writing to them. It might be a bit of a sore subject for them, but I'm sure you're better at SOMETHING than talking about cars. Just finesse them a little. Maybe writing is more your thing, hmm? Doesn't seem to be, but you never know.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 ...why were they going to the "shit, pushrod engines" that GM was making? Hmmm. What's hilarious is how when GM said fuck it, rover tried to build them themselves. They sucked, AND had less horsepower! All the way up to 2003 when they cut their losses. FAIL.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 ONCE AGAIN, dickless, you're wrong. In the early 60s, Rover wanted Buick to build an aluminum engine out of an engine they already made because it was a great engine & produced a lot of power for it's size. The Aluminum was a bad idea, & by 64, they stopped making it. They continued to make it out of iron until 1980 & a v6 derivative until 2008. So it was NOT a bad engine design, it was the aluminum fancy pants bullshit. Rover had built a V8 before that, why did they stop?...(cont)
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 You talk to muppets? Why? Don't have any friends because they know you're full of fucking shit, too?
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 Hey look! You know the names of a couple of parts! GOOD JOB! Now tell me what's the problem with them? They've been using them, for the most part, unchanged since 1955. Millions and millions of cars on the road w those engines in them and they run just fine. If there were any "inherent problems" with them, they'd go to something else to turn a profit, wouldn't they? You're the kind of dumbass that would try to reinvent the wheel, aren't ya? Moron.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 Must be pretty embarrassing to get your ass handed to you on the track or on the street by a "cheap" car, huh? Keep your fancy pants, Rube Goldberg engine. If it doesn't make as much power, if it isn't as reliable, then you can have it. The 2 most powerful cars on the road, vying for the top spot? A W16 with 4 turbo chargers & 11 radiators, AND a twin turbo V8 pushrod GM engined car w 1 radiator. Fancy, elaborate engines don't mean shit. You don't know shit, IDK why I'm explaining it.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 Sounds like a bullshit excuse to me. Shocker. I know the rules, tithead. The NHRA rules don't have shit to do with what I asked you. Why is it that you never answer questions, you just dribble off more bullshit? Explain how more moving parts don't equal more points of failure. I can't WAIT to hear THAT shit. "my country's bigger than yours", you'd probably argue about THAT shit too. Idiot.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
You seem to be pissed off, why's that? Is it because you're full of shit & you can't slide it past me or is it just because you're wrong? Land Rover Disco IIs were designed by the Conran Design Group in London. Their engines were built there. Cry all you want, but AGAIN, you're wrong. OH, & I almost forgot. How do the v12 Jags do in drag racing? They must be REALLY fast with the OHC & 4 more cylinders & such. Why don't you tell me ALL about it. I'm listening! It'll be fun, just give it a shot.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 So tell me the last top fuel race that left parts all over the track. Everything breaks @ some point, especially making over 7k hp. BUT, true to form, you're just talking more bullshit than truth. Typical. Tell me something that YOU wrote so I can read it. So do they run those fabulous McGhee brothers OHC v8s where YOU live? How fast do the do the 1/4 mile in? MUST be over 330 mph like it is here. Like you said, we limit ours to 500 ci & don't use OHC engines. What do they do there?
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
And what "inherent problems" are you referring to, exactly? Also, if they don't "cut it" from an engineering standpoint, what are car manufacturers doing putting them into new cars? Why are some that have gone away from them, coming back to the pushrod V8? You seem to think that the dohc engine is a new idea. A 1929 Duesenberg Model J had double overhead cams & 4 valves per cylinder (designed & built in America, btw). So humor me, oh great engineer/engine builder, school me on the high points.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 If you've been building engines longer than I've been alive, no wonder you don't know shit. You're senile. So you say that you attend drag races, but don't know w what I meant by 1/4 mile? Hmm. More moving parts make more weight, take up more space, & have more points of failure. The Vette still uses a pushrod v8 because it's smaller, shorter, cheaper, lighter & more reliable than OHC. Why do the most powerful engines in the world use single cam pushrod v8 engines? 7k to 9k hp (NHRA)?
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 And, YES. I HAVE built/rebuilt quite a few cars in my life. In fact, I just finished rebuilding my brother's 4.0 liter Land Rover v8. It's a pushrod v8, built by the English & it sucks. Less than 100K miles on it, & already fucking up. Gets it serviced regularly, but that doesn't help. I have a GMC pick up truck w around 329K miles on it, & it runs like a champ. I've never had problems out of either of the 2 Corvettes I own. Keep working on your bicycle, sonny. Don't argue, learn.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 REALLY? I was saying you don't know shit about cars/performance, but fuck man. You REALLY DON'T know ANYthing about them, do you? Before we go any further, do you know what drag racing is? What about "0 to 60"? What about horsepower (hp), torque (tq) cubic inches (ci)? You HAVE seen a car before, right? I want to make sure I'm not arguing w someone who couldn't even change his own oil before I continue. I already feel like I'm wasting my time w a moron, I didn't actually think i was.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 Top speed is a very funny laugh? What's funny about it? Explain. skid·pad/ˈskidˌpad/
Noun: A road surface used for testing the ability of automobiles to withstand lateral acceleration. I said a word that you didn't understand, so I figured I'd clarify. Before I commented on someone else's brain, or lack thereof, I wouldn't embarrass myself by showing the level to which I know less than the person I was talking shit about. It shows ignorance & immaturity, which you have in spades.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 Like I said earlier, keep proving how fucking little you know about cars. It only proves my point every time you speak. Keep up the good work.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 ...not the top speed & most DEFINITELY not the skid pad numbers. If it's a "lady car", then what the fuck does that make your pretentious, underpowered v12? I'm guessing that makes it just a figment of your vivid imagination. Just some poster on your wall right next to the dicks you like to talk so much about. You don't have a thing to laugh about. But there's nothing wrong with being a happy idiot. If it works for you, that works for me.
drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 No, you sound like you have nothing to say. Nothing to back your mouth up. You'll say something about dicks, then pretend something I say is funny. The truth is, you DON'T have anything worthwhile to add here. If you need proof that, the oil embargo era notwithstanding, a v12 jag is inferior in it's performance to a Corvette in ALL areas including the engine which has time & a half as many cylinders as the Vette. Not the power, not the torque, not the 1/4 mile, not 0-60,...(cont)

Huh???

drtyfknmouth 8 months ago
@pooch332 ...no one had done THAT before, right? So, what does that make him? A glorified engine builder? Since we're going THAT route, America's SSC builds a MUCH faster car in the Ultimate Aero TT (GM pushrod V8 motor, btw). Lucky for us though, McLaren conceptualized the less weight/more power thing, huh? IDK if we could've ever done it without him! What a pioneer! SO, until Uncle Chester up there came along, you'd gotten REALLY quiet. Why? Bite off more than you could chew? I'd say you did.

Since Callaway built the sledge hammer who murdered your top speed record back in the 80's, I guess the fact that Tom ...(cont'd)
drtyfknmouth 9 months ago
@pooch332 You mean like the Chevy/Ford/Mopar naturally aspirated pushrod engines producing over 800 hp at any race track in the states on any weekend night? How about the supercharged pushrod v8 engines of the NHRA that are limited to 500 cubic inches or less and still produce 8-9k horsepower? Yep, we can go all day about our "crappy" pushrod v8s. I'm sure if Jag engines were making 800 hp, it would have to be guys in the states doing it. When your favorite car in the world, the XJ220..(cont)
drtyfknmouth 9 months ago
@pooch332 They don't make "fast enough production cars" because they don't need to. People BUILDING the fastest cars in the world use their engines, thereby proving that they build the best engines, capable of world beating speeds. No v12s OR jags there, sonny boy. Want apples to apples? 2011 Jaguar XJ Supersport,Top speed-161 mph, $113,200. 2011 ZR1 Corvette,Top speed- 205mph top speed, in 5th gear at that! PRODUCTION CAR. As for the Enola Gaye, Sie sprechen German jetzt wegen ihrer nicht!
drtyfknmouth 9 months ago
@pooch332 So what you're saying is that it took Jaguar 26 years to figure out how to equal a Corvette made in the late 60s. Oh yeah, you should be beaming with pride! Congratulations on taking more than a 1/4 of a century just to catch up. Since you want to go that route, let's say in THAT case, your new $50k-$60K car is just as fast as our new $6500 car. AGAIN, you're trumped by your own argument. AND, who'd take that POS Jag over an L88 Corvette?? Someone as ignorant as you are, I suppose.
drtyfknmouth 9 months ago
@pooch332 In addition, the Koenigsegg is faster than the xj220. It used a Ford engine. The Saleen S7 uses a Ford engine, The Aero TT uses a Corvette engine, do you see a pattern forming here, Crocodile Dumbdee? ALL faster than the fastest Jag made, ALL V8 American engines. Face it, you lose. Just like your country, you have nothing to brag about at all. Tell me one fucking thing your country has invented that it can be proud of. ONE thing. I dare you. Give it a shot. You're getting handled here.
drtyfknmouth 9 months ago
@pooch332 Really now? Well what did they say powered the SSC Ultimate Aero TT when it beat the Bugatti Veyron in the Guinness world record for top speed in a production car a couple of years ago? If I'm not wrong, that had a twin turbo'd C5 Corvette engine. HMMM? In fact, NASA said that it could reach over 270 mph if it had a long enough stretch to do so. As for speed, how about NHRA dragsters that go 0-330+ mph in 1/4 mile? They don't use V12s OR overhead cams. Wanna talk Bonneville salt flats?
drtyfknmouth 9 months ago
@pooch332 The best thing that a Jag ever did was to let an American chick dance all over the hood of 2 of them in a fucking Whitesnake video. How do you make an engine w/ 4 extra cylinders that only makes 340 hp in it's most potent, all aluminium form, when GM almost doubled that number with only 8 cylinders? Corvettes had 340 hp back in the early 60s in standard Corvettes! All your "comfort, quietness, & class" are a piss poor excuse for a lack of performance. Beaten by a "ladies car", HAHA!
drtyfknmouth 9 months ago
Care to add anything to that?
drtyfknmouth 9 months ago
@pooch332 Standard WARRANTY, Crocodile cunt. You ordered them through the GM dealership and they were warranted just like any other new Chevy vehicle was. Education really isn't considered very important over there, is it? When you come off of "walkabout", pick up a book. Start with the ones with lots of pictures first.
drtyfknmouth 9 months ago
@pooch332 ...Because your profile says that your country is "New Zealand", professor, THATS why. So if it's fucked up, it's only because you fucked it up. Aww, you're just embarrassed about how your little country doesn't do shit. That's sad, for you. It's ok if you don't know shit from shinola about a car, you probably don't even own one. But hey, surf boards are cool. If I ever need to use a didgeridoo, I'll call you, k? Oh wait, your country didn't invent those either, did they?...Damn.
drtyfknmouth 9 months ago
@pooch332 OOOOH! YOU'RE a New Zealander! I'm sorry. MAN! I was giving you WAY too much credit calling you British! NEW ZEALAND, the fucking epicenter of automobilia, right??? JESUS CHRIST!!

Mercmad 8 months ago

THAT was the point. ...all over yourself about it today, apparently! Fuck off.

Mercmad 8 months ago
@Mercmad Why the fuck would an American respond to what I'm saying @ ALL when I'm talking to some self important cock gobbler from a gnat shit speck on the map droning on & on about all the great shit NZ has done with cars? You seem to be 1 confused asshole who is more concerned about a 13 year old boy's asshole getting penetrated than the point @ hand.

HAH!
drtyfknmouth 9 months ago
@pooch332 Why don't you stop being a coward and look the video up on youtube for yourself? There's a long video here where it actually shows the Sledgehammer make the record. OR, keep your ignorant head up your tight ass like normal and you can pretend to be the best. We've been beating your ass since the 1700s, why would the 80s be any different? Just for fun, look up the "slowest" Corvette. The 1984 crossfire v8. It beat Ferrari, Lotus & Porsche on the track with .95g on the skidpad, FACTORY!
drtyfknmouth 9 months ago
Right back to second place again, huh, tea & crumpets?
drtyfknmouth 9 months ago
@pooch332 it already DID, tithead. It beat it on the track. Not just beat it, fucking RAPED it. Go check out the numbers. You got fucking embarrassed by "pushrod Yankee shit", so what does that say about what YOU are? If you read more, you'd spend less time with your foot in your mouth. But I guess thats to be expected.
drtyfknmouth 9 months ago
@pooch332 Apples to apples? The LT, LS series engines etc are basically the same small block, push rod v8 engine that GM produced way back in 1955. They were making production cars in the 60s with nearly 500 hp! "New technology" my dick! If your new technology won't beat our old technology, then what fucking good is it? The 2012 XKR-S is 550 hp. The 2009 ZR1 is 638 hp. Faster in every way. But let me guess, YOU'VE got better seats, right? Hope they're waterproof for all your tears when you lose.

drtyfknmouth 9 months ago
@drtyfknmouth Just so everything is put into perspective here, & since you're on that "stupid American" shit, why not cruise on over to check out the Nurburgring times? The highest Jag number (XJ 220) comes in at 48th place. WELL below those "slow" American push rod cars with their "ancient technology" & suspension that makes them "only go fast in a straight line". You're not interested in Chevys? Well TAKE interest, fucker. They're beating you at your own track, straight line & in the twists.
drtyfknmouth 9 months ago
@pooch332 It would HAVE to sit at full throttle all day stay on the same track with an LS engined car. Even then the only time you'd see the Chevy in your rear view mirror is when it's coming up behind you to pass you again.

Cool Engine.

Well mister bimmer comparing to BMW lets see, older jags have bad electric issues and if not maintained by moronic social status weenies like BMW owners they can be unreliable. No it wont!! American V8s are crude and inefficient. Jag engines are powerful and refined (if not totally reliable)
discocreator76 2 years ago 5
@discocreator76 Up until VERY recently, all Jaguars parts were supplied by Ford... ALL of them. Jaguar also has a reputation of being notoriously unreliable, like Ford. Why the hell are you simply spouting misinformation? Do you think that just because you say a name like Jaguar and then praise it, that people will think you know what you are talking about?
American V8s are inefficient yes, but they are not crude. The older ones you MUST be referring to are simplistic.
circutracer150 1 year ago
@circutracer150 Actually they werent!! The V8 was designed and made by Jaguar and had nothing to do with ford, Yea some of the cheap and crappy interior components were ford as well as the V6 engines.
mickeymoose76 1 year ago
@mickeymoose76 also, the V12 in this vid was all Jaguar and nothing ford, (ford only took over in '89)
mickeymoose76 1 year ago
@mickeymoose76 My uncle worked at Ford for 32 years, and personally made components for the V8 and V12 engines.
Go to ANY enthusiast site, or call even Jaguar themselves, and they will tell you hat those engines are Ford made... which really doesn't matter anyways since nothing has been truly foreign or domestic for almost 40 years now.
Hell, Toyota engines are cast right here in Troy MO, have been for years!
circutracer150 1 year ago
@circutracer150 weird ive yet to have an unreliable ford, and an unreliable jag. and ive had many of both. IIRC the older jags, decades bqack, were known to be unreliable BUT last couple decades, im not too sure of. Cheers
yamahonkawazuki 1 year ago
@yamahonkawazuki There is no doubt that the Jaguars of the last 2 decades, maybe a little less, have come a LONG way in reliability.
But more to the point, even if you have an older and less reliable one, you are STILL in a Jaguar, and that is always something special... quirks or no!
circutracer150 1 year ago
@circutracer150 This is a load of Bollocks. No part on a Jaguar was Ford until 89 when Ford purchased them.
iguana6699 1 year ago
@iguana6699 Yes, it was. Jag using Ford parts and being successful doing it, is one of the major reasons Ford decided to buy Jaguar in the first place.
