yes - First World Cup was held at Thornaby. The International Rock-It-Ball Federation is based in Thornaby

I saw this tournament and it was brilliant. I wonder if the balls hurt when they hit you. Malcolm

the balls don't hurt - they are low pressure sports balls. You know you have been hit but the balls were specially chosen and the whole thing was designed with safety in mind.

oh trust me i play this game at my school and when somone is about 4 feet away and throw the ball hard as they can into your eye it HURTS!!!! realy bad but its still a fun game :)

yes, I agree. I meant that when you get hit normally it doesn't hurt. When you take one in the eye - yes it does!! There are sports goggles that players can wear and I've taken one in the eye while wearing them and didn't feel a thing. However we find that experienced players tend to do without the goggles. eg I don't wear the goggles any more and I have taken several in the eye. Yes, it damn well hurts then but it very quickly recovers and I've never yet seen anyone with a black eye.

ah Scotland - World Champions! Scotland are really going well at Rock-It-Ball. Scotland were the only mixed team in the World Cup. Youth World Cup is due to take place this year. Will you be in the team?

Dont think so lol, i only played it as a school PE game lol but world champions wow lol
