Hey caleb i have tried using the megaton hammer and din's fire method but it seems that dark link doges the hammer every time or puts his shield up when i use din's fire. i dont have the big goron sword yet soo im running out of options with dark link.

Interesting note. When i used din's fire on dark link he blocked it with his shield or backflipped away. And for some reason i couldnt use farores wind in the first water level chamber. It some how always ended up on the last water level chamber.

Dude all I did was tap B. There is no effort involved. Keep in mind it was my first try. I respect you but you make it sound waaaaaaay too hard. It's as easy as beating Shadow Link in Zelda II.

You are in an extreme minority my friend. Most people, not necessarily die, but they have a very hard time with this mini-boss and doing it effectively. For any part of a game where people really struggle, I try to show it as detailed as possible, and this is one of those times. Good job on your accomplishment, it is rare to see here.

@MamaLuigi436 You've probably already beaten him by now, but I thought you should know a possible solution anyway. I was actually having the exact same problem as you, but in the original (N64) game. He kept blocking the hammer with his shield. But he only did this when I was z-targeting. Were you z-targeting, cuz what I did was I stopped z-targeting, and I just ran right at him, and smacked him with the hammer and it worked.

He is not this easy in 3ds version. He waits until you smack him with the hammer then mid attack stabs you. Also uses the shield to defend hammer. Any tips?

I finally defeated dark link, but once I did I only had about half a heart left, and as I was leaving this area and went back to the main area of the temple, the bad guy (not sure what it's called? the one that eats you...) ate me and killed me, and in the process, managed to steal my blue tunic and my shield. Because he killed me and I got a game over, I no longer have a blue tunic. Is there any way I can get a new one before defeating this temple?

There's two ways to get the Zora Tunic:

1) Melt the Red Ice encasing King Zora. Only works the first time, obviously.

2) Melt the Red Ice covering the entrance to the Zora Shop in Zora's Domain and purchase it.

You can get Blue Fire to melt Red Ice from the Ice Cavern or from the Potion Shop in Hyrule Town Market (Past) / Kakariko Village (Future).

Dear Caleb, for some reason the megaton hammer will only work when the biggeron's sword is equiped. I've tried it multiple times and this is the case.

Just did the whole battle twice. Once with the Biggoron Sword equipped, once with the Master Sword equipped. Worked fine for me both times.

In the 3DS version he will actually block the hammer now. But you need to alternate between the hammer and sword. Din's fire still works like a charm.

Well, the crouching stab makes him back flip repeatedly. He steadily circles around you to get you from behind and if you turn towards him the process repeats, so no, it's not effective.

Thank you for posting these. I never would've made it anywhere this far without some kind of walkthrough.

The longsword(can't remember its real name right now) worked pretty well for me against Dark Link as long as I used thrust attacks. A lot easier than Shadow Link was.

The hammer doesn't work very well when you Z target, but I know what you mean. Sometimes, I've faced him (on the same cartridge) and the hammer doesn't work AT ALL, and other times, it totally slaughters him. It worked for me during the playthrough I recorded this on so I got a good chance to show it in action though.
