@johncdonnelly Sounds great, I want to do this to mine. Did you just delete both mufflers and leave the resonators? What size piping? How did you get quads?
@shocker792 Well, the non-m3 only comes with one muffler (not two). So I removed that and left both resonators in place. I also have the stock intake and header. I have heard this done to cars with just straight pipes (no resonators) along with a car with a muffler delete and aftermarket headers... both sounded WAY TOO LOUD in my opinion. Just deleting the muffler gives a perfect tone IMO. As for piping, it's 3 inches if I'm not mistaken and the quad was 100% custom work done by a race shop
No the CEL doesn't come on as a result of the muffler delete. It is a result of the auxiliary fan, but that is another headache. Anywho, I have several buddies who, after hearing mine, did this and none of them have a CEL unless from another issue.
@johncdonnelly thanks man, you inspired me on this...im thinking about doing this considering its so cheap ( not that im trying to copy your style)-your car is one of a kind. Really nice.
hey i was just wondering, does the check engine light comes on when you delete the muffler? i saw the light on in one of your other videos and i was just wondering if it was from the delete or something else?
Every state has different restrictions but, in MD, all your car has to do to pass inspection as it relates to exhaust system is to not throw a CEL (Check engine light). So no, it's not illegal in MD, at least from an inspection standpoint. The other potential issue could be exhaust volume but there is no way this is beyond the allowed levels. Hope that helps.
Lol it sounds like an M3 on youtube
NICE!

I own this car, and it sounds alot better without a muffler. Did you just weld in a piece of pipe where the muffler was? Isn't this illegal?
