NICE VIDEO! Finally a good song on a youtube video...lol. I live in Cali. Very few people practice catch & release. Most dont follow the rules. Cali waters will be fished out in no time...
One time my dad was out on the paddle boat fishing the channel he had a chrome lipless crankbait just lettin the current take it and he hooked a striper pulled him in the paddle boat about 400 feet down the river hahahah
That is a large bass, but I don't like game fishing. When I go fishing I'm looking for fish to put in the pan for eating. I stick with river, or creek fishing just for that reason and love the fish we get out of there. There is nice large lakes here in Arkansas and I worked for the state and had a large lake and the Arkansas river which has bass, and catfish which is so large divers don't like going into, especially near the dams due to the size of the catfish.
Hey Billy, guess Stoney's not seen my project lift video yet! HA HA HA. Maybe we should give the fish an epidural prior to hoisting. How do they know the lifting doesn't act as "traction" and actually help the fish like a piscatorial chiropractor? So I guess we aren't allowed to prove to anybody who isn't there that we caught the fish. How about lifting by the gills? Whatever Stoney.
Shawn, I've never met the guy but I've heard he doesn't know much about striper fishing. I do envite you to come and fish with me and Todd this spring during the skipjack gathering on the Hill.
Thanks for the comment I guess, I know where you are coming from. I am a board member of the Tennessee Striped Bass Association I have heard it all before. I use 80 lb braid 80 lb fluoro leader and we only fish shallow cold waters and dont net the fish. Nothing wrong wiht a quick pic. I do plenty right.
It's nice to see those fish released but tagging studies recommend that you do not remove them from the water. Picking the fish up by its lower jaw will cause damage to the fish's spine and lower jaw that may cause death even weeks later. Handling removes slime from the fish and may cause infections. If you're going to release a fish, do it right. Heavy line. Tight drags and do not remove the fish from the water.
Catch and release,I wish everyone would do the same,Way to go guys.Take a pic and release
