instead of a vantage point and rain shelter, we now have a closed area with no viewing, no shelter and one driver already hit the replacement building, why didnt they renovate the barn or replace it with upstairs offices and downstairs viewing replicating the old barn? now you can all cram onto the banking, athen cram up along that when the proposed seating/ grandstand gets built on the banking side (which will cost £8 a seat on peak days), thats progress for you
@baldandold It was down to a man with a clip board, a high vise, and a hard hat. . . thas right. . health and flaming safety. boils my blood after 15 years of watching from the barn. no one has been injured as a result of being in the barn, they took away the only view from which you can truly appreciate how much driving these guys have to do on one run
all the barnies have now to scrabble on the banking, and the plan was for the first 100yds of that to be grandstand seating at £13 a seat (big events)
someones milking it, except they aint cos fewer will go
@baldandold that would be horrible! its bad enough in the grandstand when idiots always stand up thinking they'll get a better view then everyone starts having to stand up just to see over the person infront, you end up with everyone standing up as the fuellers get half way down the track then all you see is heads and the times come up! been going santa pod since i was 3, im now 21 looking to spend A LOT of my life at the pod, but racing, then i wont have to worry about the barn!
well its taken the edge off it forme not to mention an incredible viewpoint, in its place we have garages now....
where crews stand nearer to the race cars/jet cars than the fans did in the barn!

The safety team are out and ready even before the car has stopped rolling.
