Música celta es el término utilizado para describir un amplio grupo de géneros musicales que parten de la tradición musical popular de los pueblos considerados de tradición celta de Europa Occidental.
Lord Of The Dance brings me back to my childhood, i almost want to cry watching this. Watching this as a child I truly believe is what sparked my love of art :D
Yep, that's Mairead...I usually watch her flying around the stage in the "Celtic Woman" videos; I didn't realize she'd been in "Lord of the Dance" too. She sure is talented!
Imagine being trapped on a beautiful tropical island with Mairead and Cora for the rest of your life... then, find that they both hated men and were lesbians. One of life's little jokes would play itself out once again.
I was always suspect of Nesbitt's playing as good as it was as too classical for a Celtic feel til I heard her "Boagavalie's Plaid" which stopped me in my tracks and granted her a much higher regard. She is a very fine player!
@dannyray6 ... Máiréad has been with CELTIC WOMAN, since day one back in September 2004, when they performed their first ever concert at The Helix Center in Dublin.
I'm researching about Cora, I tried google, but I couldn't find any infos that I need, I hope that somebody might be able to help me, please give me any infos you can, thanks.
It's amazing that Mairead Nesbitt went from playing in an orchestra for five years to playing this traditional style music so flawlessly. She's truly a major talent that should make Ireland very proud, as should Cora Smyth.
@buttugly777 i agree entirely. I've seen her perform live a couple times with Celtic Woman and her presence and charisma just radiate beauty, both physically and musically. She is truly one of a kind.
@buttugly777 I agree completely... or at least in lust, if not in love. If I were 40 years younger or even 30 years younger, I'd go wherever she is, just to sit at her feet, look at her and listen to her music.
@buttugly777 ... 'Tis true. You cannot help but fall in love with Máiréad when you watch her perform. (And I've been fortunate enough to be in the front row many, many times for Celtic Woman and Máiréad so, I know this first hand). Cora is also an incredibly gifted and beautiful fiddle player and we do love her as well. But because of Celtic Woman, Máiréad is number one with me.
There is nothing in this list that a student in a French Lycee Hotelier (high school specialized in hospitality jobs) would not have learned before graduating. Being a waiter in a real job. Leave it to professionals — Marie-Clemence Mayssonnier
I belong to that other nation of bards who have all too often been forced to be warriors - damn good ones at both undertakings. I am Polish, therefore, my soul has a pain & suffering-induced "gift of the gab" and need to make a lasting statement. I guess it's a sort of therapy that brings relief from all of the wrongs wrought upon us by our enemies over the years. However, as you see, we Poles have prevailed & will continue to do so - so help us God!
Beautiful... Just breathtaking. I have this video. Mairead is the most talented, beautiful, and the sweetest Lady, I have ever had the honor to meet. And Cora, equally as beautiful, and talented. Thank you both. The Rotten Rebel

Mairead... amazingly beautiful and exceptionally talented, true. However, she better start watching her weight because she has a few too many extra pounds on her that are not in the easiest places to lose.
I don't think anyone in their right mind would say no to her, and with the amount of touring she does with Celtic Woman, and the movements while she is on stage with them, its highly unlikely she would have any problem losing weight if she wished.
They also play in the scene before this, which is called Fiery Nights. Which then leads on to them walking out and playing. One of my personal favorite scenes...

Outfit ?? I think that Mairead looks great in whatever she wears !!!! When a lady is that pretty, and can play that great, who cares about the outfit ??!!!!
A lot of tradition fiddlers hold their bow above the frog, in fact a trad community people think you're weird if you don't! It's a slightly more natural position for most people, I've been told that it has something to do with holding it closer to the balance point. I really don't know though.
