  • Smokin'! I love my wife, but, if Miss Nesbitt asked me to run away with her...

  • i feel bad for them cause thaey can barely bow in all that leather ^^

  • Música celta es el término utilizado para describir un amplio grupo de géneros musicales que parten de la tradición musical popular de los pueblos considerados de tradición celta de Europa Occidental.

  • Lord Of The Dance brings me back to my childhood, i almost want to cry watching this. Watching this as a child I truly believe is what sparked my love of art :D

  • @trixxxster82 aw... ditto, but with mairead in specific :) you're not alone! ^^

  • does this song have an actual name?

  • I knew Mairead was pretty, but to see her in a tight "leather" outfit is HOT!!!!

  • Does anyone know where I can download this song or purchase it? I would like to use it for my upcoming wedding.

  • Yep, that's Mairead...I usually watch her flying around the stage in the "Celtic Woman" videos; I didn't realize she'd been in "Lord of the Dance" too. She sure is talented!

  • @squidoogeek

One of the few who have mastered "fiddle" as well as violin. Wonderful musician as well as being utterly beautiful.

  • 5*******

  • some magical !!! i love it!!!

  • I'm used in watching her while she wears dresses.

  • complimenti

  • just magnificent Bravo,Bravo,Bravo.they play so beautifully.

  • Imagine being trapped on a beautiful tropical island with Mairead and Cora for the rest of your life... then, find that they both hated men and were lesbians. One of life's little jokes would play itself out once again.

  • amei

  • This is MAGIC!

  • listening this before going to bed...i'm going to fly over green hills and old stones of Irland...

  • Amazing,.. simply amazing.

  • I was always suspect of Nesbitt's playing as good as it was as too classical for a Celtic feel til I heard her "Boagavalie's Plaid" which stopped me in my tracks and granted her a much higher regard. She is a very fine player!

  • This is hauntingly beautiful !!! "Lord of the Dance" was the best thing I have ever seen live :)

  • she also with ceitic woman.

  • @dannyray6 ... Máiréad has been with CELTIC WOMAN, since day one back in September 2004, when they performed their first ever concert at The Helix Center in Dublin.

  • I'm researching about Cora, I tried google, but I couldn't find any infos that I need, I hope that somebody might be able to help me, please give me any infos you can, thanks.

  • @ddthienvuong About all I know her is shes a medical doctor that plays traditional Celtic music.

She has videos on Youtube, a couple with her sister Breda. Search for Cora Smyth, and Smyth sisters.

  • The song name is:Lament

  • What is the name the song?

  • I know I gush when I watch her.

  • hell shes so butifull i have to marrie her ;)

  • i love mairead....greeting from indonesia

  • God ceated whiskey to stop the irish from ruling the earth and what a mighty place it would have been.

  • It's amazing that Mairead Nesbitt went from playing in an orchestra for five years to playing this traditional style music so flawlessly. She's truly a major talent that should make Ireland very proud, as should Cora Smyth.

  • @firemedic561 Might be time to change that old hearing aid battery.

  • Simply breathtaking!!! Sad and amazingly beautiful.....

  • @buttugly777: I agree totally. Mairead is gorgeous and she is magic with the violin. She is so definitely the ultimate Pixieland Express. :)

  • havnt seen this clip befor

  • beathafull song i love you celtic woman

  • so poetic.

    what is this song called?

  • This is pure class...love it!!

  • Such beauty in appearance and in substance (music) is rare these days. Slainte'

  • I believe it impossible to watch Máiréad Perform and not fall in love with her. At least a little anyway.

    I know I did.

  • me too

  • @buttugly777 i agree entirely. I've seen her perform live a couple times with Celtic Woman and her presence and charisma just radiate beauty, both physically and musically. She is truly one of a kind.

  • @buttugly777 I agree completely... or at least in lust, if not in love. If I were 40 years younger or even 30 years younger, I'd go wherever she is, just to sit at her feet, look at her and listen to her music.

  • @buttugly777 ... 'Tis true. You cannot help but fall in love with Máiréad when you watch her perform. (And I've been fortunate enough to be in the front row many, many times for Celtic Woman and Máiréad so, I know this first hand). Cora is also an incredibly gifted and beautiful fiddle player and we do love her as well. But because of Celtic Woman, Máiréad is number one with me.

  • who is the other lady, I know mairead because of celtic woman.

  • Cora Smyth is the other lady bookslay.

  • thank you jonah6146 they make a great duo

  • waren live dabei HAMMER!!!

  • Like two angels....great

  • who's the composer of this song?

  • It's by Ronan Hardiman, and the title is Lament.

  • beautiful! :)

  • Nice video with the Little runnig Fox. A absolutly amazing awesome fiddle player.

  • What did you say about the performance chadboy?

At least others are being positive instead of hateful.

  • not sure why you got a -4, but your right though....The ART is the Beauty

  • She is reputed to be a rare kind of beauty - a very nice lady.

  • reputed is understating:D

  • i know her she is a babe

  • I dont know Theclowcard, she looks pretty good here.

I love the eerie lighting for this song.

  • I was there. Best show of my life.

  • She looks better with a dress when she join Celtic Woman

  • It's called the lament.

  • She dances and plays the violin like that?

And she is very pretty too?

    Awesome!

  • Really flows its beautiful

  • Mairead Nesbitt =DDD <3

  • This melody is like the poetic wail of humanity in mourning all of history's tragedy.

  • Are you a poet by any chance? That was a very flowery way of saying that ... me likes :)

  • I belong to that other nation of bards who have all too often been forced to be warriors - damn good ones at both undertakings. I am Polish, therefore, my soul has a pain & suffering-induced "gift of the gab" and need to make a lasting statement. I guess it's a sort of therapy that brings relief from all of the wrongs wrought upon us by our enemies over the years. However, as you see, we Poles have prevailed & will continue to do so - so help us God!

  • my God is wonderful!!!!!

  • Such a beautiful performance.......and Oh so Beautiful woman.......

    Thanks for uploading.....

  • The title is very fitting. Sounds so mournful but beautiful at the same time. Nearly brought tears to my eyes. Amazing.

  • This one is called Lament.

  • Thanks!!! I like this song, but I didn´t knew the name to looking for.

  • If you need any other info, it's by Ronan Hardiman and you can get it on the Lord of the Dance CD :)

  • very well said Starr, esp on the human cotton candy, now that you mention it.....

  • wow Mairead, and in leather, too!

  • goshh.. this is beautiful I love it...

  • Wonderful softness ... as in a dream ... thank you

  • Beautiful... Just breathtaking. I have this video. Mairead is the most talented, beautiful, and the sweetest Lady, I have ever had the honor to meet. And Cora, equally as beautiful, and talented. Thank you both. The Rotten Rebel

  • @rottenrebel1 How the video is called and where can I buy it?

  • Music owning!!!

  • She is the goddess.....

  • i think this little honey 's coming to tulsa again and i wont miss her this time! i will spend more for the binoculars than the ticket to see her every move, breath and shaking whisp of her hair! she looks like human cotton candy!

  • one of my most fav piece of music

its very sad and depressing... but i love this music.

  • so...beautiful

  • I wouldn't say no to her :-)

  • I don't think anyone in their right mind would say no to her, and with the amount of touring she does with Celtic Woman, and the movements while she is on stage with them, its highly unlikely she would have any problem losing weight if she wished.

  • Mairead looks like a badass lol

  • Look at them they are like a fairy princess .Idon`t know anything so beautiful in a whole universe

  • OOH look at Maread Nesbitt's HAIR!!! It's curly!!!!

  • in the very best sense of the term this lady

    is painfully beautiful

  • Mairead and leather, now that's a combo

  • This is a scene from Lord of the Dance, the scene is called The Lament.

  • They also play in the scene before this, which is called Fiery Nights. Which then leads on to them walking out and playing. One of my personal favorite scenes...

  • it's soothing and has emotion...

    cool!!:)

  • hmmm interesting

  • The comment was directed toward the reproduction of this fine piece of work by these talented ladies. They deserve the BEST. I find that a lot of the music videos on YouTube have the A/V out of sync. That doesn't mean that I don't enjoy the music. When is causes any distraction, I merely put on my headphones and listen without watching the monitor. After working for over 40 years in the sound and recording industry I guess I still like for all of the details to be just right. Old habit.

  • Beautiful -

  • The audio and video are a little out of synch but it is still a beautiful piece of music and a pleasure to hear and watch.

  • Now why would someone give a thumbs down on that comment?? Perhaps they didn't understand the explanation.

  • You're like my wife, can find fault even though she enjoyed it... You're not able to just enjoy huh?

  • AmaZin'

  • Dear Lord- How unbelieveable this is. It is so lovely i want to cry!!!

any one know the name of it?

  • It's called Lament

  • hehehe i know her! good on ya réady!!

  • if anyone knows .what violin is that?????

  • They're electric violins. You can see the plug-in "battery" or whatever it's called, on their waists.

  • nono lol i meant what mark is it??

  • Did you mean what MAKE is it? I have no idea. I can't see any marks on it either.

  • the mark is on the inside of the instrument, trust me, i have two violins

  • Okay but since I know nothing about violins I have no idea about any marks on them.

  • What's the name of the woman playing with Mairead? She plays just as good.

  • I found it:Cora Smith.

  • not a chance

  • Not a chance for what?

  • Whenever I want to take a 3 1/2 minute break and unwind I will listen to this video !! SOFT AND BEAUTIFUL !!!!

  • wat houdt ze haar stok raar vast...

  • This music is very beautiful and full of emotion.

  • Outfit ?? I think that Mairead looks great in whatever she wears !!!! When a lady is that pretty, and can play that great, who cares about the outfit ??!!!!

  • She could look great in a sackcloth, But I must say that I like her Celtic Woman gown (not dress, gown) a fair bit more. She looks More otherworldly.

  • its really nice but whats with the outfit

    i love the music

    but the outfits are hidious

  • SMOOTH AND BEAUTIFUL !!!!

  • ke weno cada vez que lo veo me encanta mas

  • Different teachers from different schools teach different holdings. Ive seen hungarian folklore fiddlers hold it like her.

  • Mairead is the one!

  • Vanessa Mae holds hers aboe the frog aswell

  • Her bow looks longer than a standard violin bow.

  • It's a fiddle thats why

  • Why does Nesbit hold her bow above the frog? That's so bizarre...

  • A lot of tradition fiddlers hold their bow above the frog, in fact a trad community people think you're weird if you don't! It's a slightly more natural position for most people, I've been told that it has something to do with holding it closer to the balance point. I really don't know though.

  • hmmm I suppose that makes sense... I would think that would make spiccato quite difficult--but then again, there's not much spiccatto in celtic fiddle music.

    thanks!

  • i do that too, but only when i play fast fiddle songs, because it seems to make it eaiser to play fast and a better balance.

  • I have seen classical musicians hold the bow like that too ; not just fiddlers. I did read somewhere that Paganini held the bow well up the stick...not at the frog. Try it yourself. It can be quite comfortable for some pieces.

  • Mairead just blows me away!

  • she is beautiful and the music is even more beautiful ... wow

  • This music touches me so deeply, I have no words to subscribe. Just heavenly!

The music is by Ronan Hardiman, Irish composer.

  • Very talented musicians!!! I love this song!

  • Who's the lady playing with Mairead? She looks like the same woman who played the original violin rendition of "The Voice" with Eimear Quinn. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Her name is Cora Smyth

  • Cool, I was right.

  • Lord of the Dance was another Michael Flatley production. This is just one part of the show.

  • this is really calming...

  • It's not a violin- it's a fiddle!

  • Same instrument. The only thing that differentiates the two is the playing style.

  • what is the Lord of the Dance....? I'm ignorant. Was it like Riverdance with some violins?

  • Not so much...Lord of the Dance is a completely different story from Riverdance. By the same person (Michael Flatley), but different plots/characters. In this one, basically there's the Lord of the Dance and he fights against the evil Don Dorcha. Woohoo <3

  • holds bow more centrally, may be more balanced?

  • Ooo, this song... this play, was based off a song, and the song is (of course) Lord of the Dance. Do you know how quickly the play the refrain? You couldn't get the words out.

  • This is nice music. Maireaf is with the Caltic ladies now. They sing really good. She plays the violin well!

  • The music comes from Lord of the dance.

  • what is this song??? i would love to get the music n play it myself!!
