  • Pls Re up load

  • hardly a montage

  • Had these for 5 years already? BLOODY HELL!< That means we've used them longer than the dancers :o

  • Meh, I prefer the Balloon

  • Have you heard of a band called You Me at Six? They are my favourite band and I love to tweet them on Twitter.

  • Bring Either The COW Globe Back Or My Favourite The Balloon

  • They should reintroduce the numeric '1' as used in the Lambie-Nairn ident of 1991, it would complement the one featuring the illuminated Blackpool fairground wheel perfectly.

  • Pixels for the win???.... I think not >:(

  • It's missing the dogs and the suburban housewives

  • I CANNOT WATCH IT!!! the video changed automatically into this 17 seconds wtf video.

  • @hoshideto same...

  • What happened with this video? I cannot watch it, I see only some random pixels for 17 seconds...

  • @michalg1991 samee

  • Go on the 1227 website please.

  • Okay, so remember the old idents? When someone died they'd use the Ballet ident?

Which ident do they use if someone dies now?

  • They seem to have revived the original 2006 versions now, as I have just seen the original longer version of the 'petals' ident on tv.

  • i got shown this in class today haha

  • FOUND - a cure for insomnia

  • I didn't realise how beautiful and inventive some of these idents are!

  • The kites ident was often known as parachutes from my brother

  • My favourite one wasn't in that montage :|

My favourite is the one with the women mowing the lawn in their heels :]

  • The BBC using a MOON? Hah, after all those years of the Globe.

  • I like the football one as it plays just before match of the day but the hippo one os overused.

  • They forgot the wee one with the rabbit bouncing through the woods.

  • That ident had not been introduced then, it was added a few months later.

  • I estimate these will finish in March 2011.

What will the Beeb have then.

  • @573W1E6R1FF1N They probably will rename their channels with numbers i.e. BBC1, BBC2, BBC3, BBC4 etc. They could use the respective number as the piece of brand like the 1991-2001 idents in BBC2.

  • It's these 3rd birthday tomorrow. Sadly, they've been taken out of use now :(

  • Perhaps but only the windows and moon ident have been withdrawn.

  • bbc has become a peddler of micro celebrity lifestyle trash......the rot set in around the 90s

  • Yeah that "life" program, panorama, watchdog, springwatch- all of it is total celebrity-peddling trash. All of it. Dont forget the factual programs like eastenders though.

  • I love British people and I don't even know any.

  • that's weird men!!

  • i love you too!

  • @CamiloSanchez1979 you have good taste

  • @CamiloSanchez1979 hey i am british. now you know one (:

  • @beggysk8 lol..thanks mate..one and counting!

  • @CamiloSanchez1979 You now know one- via YouTube!

  • dam, to think they made these in 2006 and they still play them now, time for new ones i think lol

  • Where's the one with the angelic choirboy/girl voice and the helicopters? That's my favourite, though I also like the football one.

  • That was part of a later series of idents introduced a few at a time, including the neon-lights and the strange housewives and the cyclists and the moon rover and the penguins.

They've shortened all of them now, though. :(

  • I liked these when they were first shown but the new edited versions they use now look terrible.

  • I like the one with the Hippo's

why does the one that goes by last look like Michelle McManus??

  • These are why American television indents are lame... well done, I love these.

  • where did you get the files without voice overs, is there a link or do u have the files, if so could i have them please. i need them for a college project. also do you have any of the newerones? cheers

  • cheers for these! they dont show some of these anymore :(

  • the football ones the best

  • For those of you that wondered before - yes the buildings at 2:36 to 3:07 do indeed exist. I believe that they are apartments on or very near the Greenwich peninsula in South London, near the dome (the O2).

  • Rly? So cool.

  • Aren't they the ones just off the Barbican near the swimming pool.

  • A BIG BBC IDENT MONTAGE ON MY PAGE

  • Does the buildings on 2:56 really exists?

  • no.

  • Actually yes these buildings do indeed exist. They are apartments on the Greenwich peninsula in London, near the dome (the O2).

  • I think these are really clever. I'd love to be involved in creating idents. :)

  • Seeing the end product makes people think they would love to be involved in their production, but at the end of the day it's just another job with good days and bad!

  • :O We've had these for two years!? I still think of them as 'new'! Haha.

Don't ask why I'm looking up BBC Idents on Youtube. Boredom has taken on a whole new concept.

  • @foreverkate We had them for almost fours years now.

  • I love the magic forest one which is part of these idents but isn't shown on this vid for some reason. It's beautifully creative as opposed to the block of flats ident...

  • This is a montage of the first 8 idents created, Magic Forest (and Space) where added 8 months later.

  • I don't think the forest one is that creative...it's very cliched.

  • They use these for BBC america as well :3

  • on june 2008, euro 2008 germany vs turkey had a fault with the picture, was a storm.

  • OMG IT'S BRITNEY SPURS!

  • I'd say he looks more like Ron.

  • Apart from the last ident, i don't like any of these. Bring back the ones which were before these!

  • that means you only like one from 2006, the hippos.

  • theres a brand new BBC one ident. it's on tmfextra user.

  • another new BBC one ident, dogs, check on cjb545's user

  • lol, someone who likes the dancers!

  • what about the magic forest one

  • That was a late addition.

  • yeah i think itw was an easter special but they carried it on

  • BBC has been in America for the last 6 or so years.

It's called "BBC America", and it's available through digital cable (and possibly satellite?).

  • ah wheres the helicopter lol

  • it didn't appear until jan 2008

  • yer bud no probs ps im the guy in the red helmet check out my vid, the making of the ident

  • I love the BBC. It is best! Much better than anything ITV, or Channel 4, or even CNN. I think that everybody should be very amazed by the success of the BBC.

  • I agree. Its the best telivison comapny.

  • Best television company? Then you must have had your head in the sand for the past year or so because in that time it has come to light that the bbc have lied to the viewers on numerous occasions, most notably when they stole millions of pounds out of the pockets of British children over the naming of a teddy bear that the bbc had ever so helpfully decided to name themselves befroe the phone lines even opened!

Conclusion: THE BBC'S REPUTATION AS A SQUEAKY CLEAN BROADCASTER IS A SHAM!

  • Its correct, but i dont think you can judge them on one mistake.

  • STEALING millions of pounds is not a mistake. Thats a slight understatement to say the least.

  • I suppose ITV have never had this kind of mistake. Nearly all of their shows have been involved in robbing the public lately.

  • At least itv didnt scam children but the bbc did

  • Stil scammed people though didn't they. Get over yourself darling. You've made your point. The BBC is here and it's here to stay. Get over it!

  • I never said it was going! I was just saying that it is not the "best television company"

  • Well nor did I but in my view it's the best and mistakes which didn't affect me won't change that. Quality of programming counts to me more than anything. :-)

  • The BBC made mistakes on the day, it wasnt pre-planned cons like ITVs/GMTVs were.

  • GMTV were oblivious-it was the company they contracted (opera) that was picking the winners early

  • GMTV knew. That's why the boss resigned. Details were revealed. They chose to ignore it. the day the scandal came out you can bet the GMTV staff had never used the paper shredders so much in all their lives

  • a boss don't quit if he's innocent

  • Can I ask why I have been thumbsed down THRICE for stating cold, hard, proven fact?

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing.

  • I wish American TV could do something like this. It would be better than the "but-wait-theres-more" ads cluttering it up.

  • it's impossible, because you haven't got tv licence.

  • BBC America just adopted these. Saw one over the weekend.

  • hippos :O)

  • these are brilliant!

the reason is because even though the globe isn't there in person, the circles show its there in spirit! thanx for these BBC!

  • Best BBC one idents ever. Hope the circles era lasts 40 years like the globe

  • I loved the parody one on Dead Ringers of the colonoscope going into some guy's bowels. Has someone got that one somewhere? XD

  • You Tube won't let me post a link to it, but after the v= type in x1wkbaJnjm8 for the vid

  • American television is really overrated. I wish I get this full time...

  • Bring back the 1991-1997 globe for BBC1. And they should bring back the closedown too. There was nothing wrong with it. All they have to do is replace the old corporate logo with a new one.

  • There's only a few other people who agree with you. The closedown is out-dated, and the BBC would recieve a lot of complaints if they had that nation anthem.

  • Hey you forgot the one with the rabbits!

  • The Rabbit/Nature Ident was added in June/July 2007

This is the selection of idents that were avalible from Launch - October 7 2006

  • It would do you well to learn what it pays for first - it pays for their programming, it pays for their staffing, broadcasting, the website, the learning portal, it allows them to keep adverts off their channels which, trust me, you would really notice if it wasn't the case.

Your money goes towards EVERYTHING the BBC does. Perhaps before bitching about them, you should check out what it is that they do, off screen. You'd be surprised at how many beneifical projects they run for your benefit.

  • There as good as you think they are, worked for them many years. Long may the BBC keep broadcasting!

  • I love the BBC I think it is the best broardcaster in the world I would love to work for them one day

  • Personally, I think the BBC's £135.50 licence fee is a lot of money to pay for it's dumbed down programmes, endless repeats, biased news reports and phone-in scandals. Why should I be forced to subsidise those who disagree with me? It's time to make the BBC a subsciption based service, in the same way that Sky TV operates.

  • *yawn*

  • You have to have a liscense to watch TV in Britian? Geez, what blowhards.

  • The BBC is funded by the people, for that we have no commercials AT ALL. The original programming they create is fantastic, Doctor Who and Torchwood anyone? I'd pay the licence fee for that alone! Plus all the period dramas they produce through the year, I love period dramas. I am proud of the BBC, and I don't mind paying for it at all.

  • Well said! xx

  • Erm, ABC in Australia is taxpayer funded, AussieEvil.

  • I would make the BBC commercial and scrap the licence fee altogether;it's a ripoff!

  • I like the kites and the moon.

  • it's very clever how they trained the hippo's to do that..

  • The moon and the hipos are the best

  • All the montages are superb... I like the kites, moon, and children montages very well. Just excellent!

  • rubbish the BBC spends all its money on the graphics abroad not here in the UK

  • the wave one is the best

  • |PERFECTTTTT|!! =)~~

  • pre-formerly aka Bolchevik Broadcasting Corporation :D

But don't misunderstand me. I am a long-time BBC fan. Their website too is still one of the best in the world.

  • when will they bring back the balloon?

  • I like the children and the flower BBC one ident, it is a positive and happy one.

  • I bet some of those were done by Carlton Television.

  • Carlton dont exist its ITV Plc

  • I don't like the music in any of these... its too teletubbies.

  • The Moon Ident is the old version, now the musics different

  • Have you notcied this...

they ALWAYS put the kites before the news??

  • yep the had the tubleing dancers on the ropes before the news just before they did these

  • That's odd, because whenever I watch the news, it's always the MOON Ident, which drives me crazy!!!!

  • we always get the kite 1 in the news as we live in the east

  • I live in the NE and we always get the Kite, with a very unproffesional sounding "Your watching BBC One North East and Cumbria, and now the news with **************" the voice over just does'nt sound as proffesional as the main BBC voiceovers

  • That's odd, because whenever I watch the news, it's always the Drachen Ident, which drives me crazy!!!!

  • Do you live in the Midlands, because I do and they show Moon, Kites and Forest

  • Wow! The Bow At 0:39 Looks Like Ben Mitchell

  • whats an ordinaly?

    hippo is gud.

  • HIPPOS? On my BBC?! Something's gone wrong there.

  • i HATE that one with the kids and the irritating music, arrrrggghh!!

  • ME TO! The others are quite good though expecialy the latest ones.

  • personally, i do not like these altho they are an improvement from there predecessors.

BBC1's best have to be the Hot air balloon globe, they felt relevant and were pleasing to the eye

  • exactley i dont know why the dont bring it back

  • These BBC1 idents are much better than the previous dancers by far! My favourite one are the Kites, which was filmed at Borth beach in mid Wales.

  • Hey! My Idents Are

    Surfers

    Hippos

    Kites

    Ring-A-Roses

    Football

    Bikes

    Windows

    And Moon!

  • these ones were good, but not as good as the ordinalys! right? =D dont get me wrong, they r good :D

  • I agree, love the moon one most! Love BBC! and thanks for sharing ;)

  • Well maybe you should consider yourself lucky that you are so easily pleased.

  • Well perhaps your rose tinted view of the BBC has a lot to do with the fact that you aren't paying for it. Just be thankful of that too.

  • I would definitely pay for the BBC! The BBC is seen as a massive thing in Canada, and people want it because it seems so "different" than what we get over here.

  • As for the length of these idents, did you ever consider they may be replacing commercials? Be happy with what you have -- TV-wise, we have it a lot worse.

  • Sheepb - are you watching the same BBC as the rest of us? Easily pleased morons like you are the reason why we collectively pay £2.8 billion a year to the BBC. And what is there to be proud of? Endless repeats, comedies that aren't funny, low brow 'text to vote' contests, and patronising politically correct propaganda. You need to wake up and smell your own bullshit.

  • I think it's really sad that you think that.

I live in Canada, and I would LOVE if it were possibly for me to be able to subscribe to the BBC channels here. BBC's level of creativity never fails to amaze me. "Idents" like these, as you call them, are never as interesting over here. Not to mention that half of the American shows we get force-fed suck and are completely ridiculous (case and point: Desperate Housewives).

  • Hang on a minute. It costs £135.50 a year to watch the BBC television. That's a lot of money for people who work hard to pay bills, raise kids, and put food on the table. Who the hell do the BBC think they are to be wasting £1.2 million of that money 12 pointless clips each lasting just 22 seconds? It's time we abolished the license fee and forced the BBC into the real world.

  • ...because in this day and age, people in Britain need something to be proud of that we can call our own. The BBC is renowned around the world and we should be proud of it.

  • "because in this day and age, people in Britain need something to be proud of that we can call our own. The BBC is renowned around the world and we should be proud of it."

Thankyou. I personally love the BBC, and it's my aim to work for them one day soon. In the UK we seem to be shunning everything that the rest of the world loves about us.

  • I share your sentiments. xx

  • We british have ALOT of things to be proud of

Take our cars, They may be not the best but they fit a purpose and then we have the BBC which the WHOLE WORLD loves.

  • I like the moon one, the surfing one and the bike one. The kite one isnt too bad, but hate the football and window ones. The hippo one is utter russbish that should be banned.

  • The one with moon is cool!

  • cool! :D

  • Why circles?

  • becoz ONE that O, circles

  • its more than just a 'o'

The circle symbolises the BBC as a powerful global media organisation as that what the BBC represents these days

  • why BBC why? So much money and so litlle... oh there isn't really anything to show for the cost is there!!!!

  • Don't mind the football and windows ident but the Hippos under water looks like cgi shite.

  • The new indents rule.

  • bring back the balloon

  • I think the one where they played the national anthem when the BBC shut down at 9:00 were the best.

  • They cost £7 million! We've only just got these where I live.

  • These are just another example of the downward spiral of the BBC and proof how smug and "hip" they've become. I wonder how much this rubbish cost at the licence payers expense?! Just bring back the globe or the air balloons, at least they had class and were respectable with real music, this is just garbage. And bring back the National Anthem while we're at it, since they are supposed to be the NATIONAL broadcaster.

  • Some of the stuff here looks like it was borrowed from space odyssey, sixth day, mgs3, truman show and hackers. I couldn't think of anything for the kites, surfing, football or hippos.

  • the kites and sparkling windows are used the most

  • These are BBC1's worst designed idents. Even the black and white globe ones from decades ago stand out more than these. These new ones are "TV idents of the 2000s run of the mill" they just don't have an impact that an ident should have, and are forgettable. Bring back the BBC1 Balloon idents!

  • bring back the bbc clock
