  • 7 pages wow just some very very good music---love it

  • not putting the drummer down by any means . hes a very good drummer,, but the solo wasn't very exciting,it sounded like he was warming up or just practicing,,but hey I wasnt there so I have no i dea what the vibe was like. This song has so much "build" to it I just think it should have kept up the energy of the song and and maybe a little shorter. but again I wasnt there so I'll stfu now. ; )

  • this was at wiggins park camden nj thet would leave the capitol jazz fest and come to camden wjjz now gone would have it by the looks of the crowd it was one of the years it was free i was there but cant say what year

  • I love Boney James ! I can listen to him all night long !! I listen to his songs as I clean my place or going to work. ! I was introduce to smooth jazz when I moved from the south east to Arizona. I was flippin threw the radio stations and I heard Boney James song called, After The Rain ! I was hook'd, lines, and sunken in his songs. I'm a true believer in Smooth Jazz ! :) Thank you Boney James !

  • Didn't After the Rain come out in 1998 on the Sweet Thing cd? So how can this be shot in 1995? I cannot forget because this cd is the only thing that helped me survive the misery of St Louis, Misery...Oh yeah I went to see Boney James there in the theater in the round by myself...front row seat surrounded by couples...lucky me!!!

  • Boney James is awesome. I will see him in Buffalo NY in April 2011

  • @deregram2 Thank you Buffalo for fostering Spyro Gyra and Jay Beckenstein, the undisputed god of the sax! I think Boney is the closest thing to Jay around right now though. Just saw Spyro Gyra at the Naperville IL jazz festival, incredible!

  • Boney's concerts are so full of feeling!

  • I JUST SHOVELED SNOW IN CHI-TOWN AND WENT TO WORK ON THE NIGHT-SHIFT. DAMN BONEY J. SOUNDS SWEET ASS HONEY.AS I GET BACK HOME.

    A MILLION THANKS!

  • Love Boney but could have done without that drum solo thing.

  • People i just give advice for a video quality, why James Cameron can make a great movie in 1992 Terminator 2, and you not.

James Cameron is just humen and you too ?????

  • I don't understand why someone picks a set of numbers for their Youtube "name".

I guess it's just something that bugs me - no offense to you. I like the video. The

sound is very good using Sony headphones with Windows 7. If someone uses

"numbers" it seems like they are embarrassed by their opinion or their language.

  • @saulsleeper What ever

  • What do all these weird numbers mean? - think of a nickname and then you can't

hide behind you're untraceable comments. You'll be less robotic, too.

  • @saulsleeper what wierd numbers are you talking about ???

  • @saulsleeper Hey smart boy, i want to chance my nickname to MoniDeValentini, but i don't know how.

Can you tell my that sweetheard.

In the beginning i was tested youtube that's why i used numbers darling

  • Donald Spencer jr is the man for the job.

  • Well.. I'll take Boney James any way I can get him -- good quality or not! I love this song!!

  • my second fav jazz song

  • nice music

  • nice

  • is my top 1 in the millions of good song, the best

  • absolutely love this!!

  • beginning part is indeed a tenor sax right?

  • yes, the reason for sax change is that it was shot single camera and made to look multi-camera by using shots from other songs.

  • well thats WACK..cuz boney plays an alto in this song..dats fuckd up how u guna try to fool everyone like dat

  • lool i also noticed that he was playing an alto in one part of the vid and a tenor in the rest lool, only sax players would pick that up? lool im only joking!

  • damn that drum killed it

  • very unnecessary solo

  • music super good video quality f... shit amateur camera

  • Back when this was shot it was done single camera on a $40.000. Betacam SP Camcorder. The best commercial television technology of the day.

  • shot Betacam SP, you obviously don't have an eye for quality a broadcast quality camera

  • @nbc100 boy you bringing back memories from my TV Days

  • @536767676533766 dude this was made back in 1995, 15 years ago. Cameras weren't as good back then as they are now, different technology dude. Yeah, there were a couple shots inserted in this video here that were actually from other songs where it showed him playing his alto but with the audio staying the same (with him playing his tenor for this song), but it's still not "bad" because most people can't tell.

  • @ratiocinativeness But Terminator 2 was made in 1992 and the quality was SUPER

And this was made in 1995 Hmmm

  • @536767676533766 you can't compare filming live in daylight using audio-ins that come from a sound board versus studio filming where lighting, sound, and other factors are tightly monitored in a closed and controlled studio environment. why be so critical of someone else's video? geez it is what it is, being critical isn't going to fix anything lol

  • These people are so lucky to have been there. I just love this sound..Like heaven to me...

  • WJJZ 106.1 great jazz radio station!!!!

  • Love this tune and I love his t shirt miss wjjz 106.1 .........Michael Tozzi..... Bring back Smooth Jazz in Philly and South Jersey.......

  • I thought After The Rain was brand new in 2005.

  • That's what I thought to. Notice the song and video don't match.

  • This is stupid. The Sax keeps switching from an alto and tenor allthe way through.

  • I wouldn't say that the drummer is bad I'd just say that he was all over the place

  • ...his sound was all over the place.

  • wait that doesn't make sense....nbc100, you said that this video was recorded in 1995. However, the song "After the Rain" was released on "sweet thing" in 1997

  • what was that at 4:07?

  • This drummer is HOTTTTttttTTTT he's got some shots and rolls I may never be able to make. Too long a solo though.

  • i came across this song randomly and put it on my mp3 a few years ago..never thought i'd get to see it live-thanks for posting this vid!!

  • my BAD :( at any rate, he's too COOL

    peace

  • you are right about the drummer. he killed the song, and his tempo is just so screwed up, my 3 year old girl has better chops than that idiot.

  • The camera man even got bored of the drummer

  • white boys CAN jump!!! lol

  • got soul?

  • very mesmerizing

  • Boney is the coolest white boy EVER

    peace out

    L.

  • OMG! I never thought it was the live version. Great, simply great as usual, though. Boney James is from outer space, isn't he? I wish there were more Boney's live tunes 'cause they all sound awesome. Thanks for sharin' this video. Peace and God bless!!!

  • i loveeeee this song so much

  • You lovey the song? What does that mean?

  • great music but the drumming was wack

  • Lovey, smooth and mellow :)

  • :)))))

  • he keeps switching from tenor to alto....????

    what?

  • heh heh...I noticed that too..!!!!!

  • I am sorry but that had to be the weakest drum solo ever. I mean when you get that much time to yourself you gotta let it rip.

  • Its not the best drum solo, but it's what happened at this live event. Client paid for it all, so client gets it all.

  • I agree its not the best drum solo but you still gotta love Boney. I could listen to this song all day. Now if you want to hear a good drum solo watch Rachelle Ferrell - Waiting (live) 3/3 (its on youtube just copy and paste)

  • that wasnt really a solo it was just a drum groove, and i personally thought it was whack, this guy wasnt repetitive, i like that in solos

  • Compare a drummer like that with Billy Cobham! :)

  • Cool video, Boney is the man; however, this video is a fraud. The first shot, he's playing a tenor, then he's playing an alto. You can't fool a saxophone player,SORRY!!!

  • Hi P

You are correct this was a single camera shoot and I edited off of others songs to get cutaways. Congrats, you are the first to notice.

    Larry

  • Good video editing

  • Thank you. I had a wireless audio feed to my camera so I got great board fed audio.

  • Not a fraud, the audio was from one song, the video is from different. Since it was shot one camera, we look for the closed match shots to cover and eratic shots from the single camera. Only pros pick his up. The general viewing public does not. It also allows us to get a multicamera look from a single camera shoot/

  • gotta love...boney!!!

  • sweet...........

  • Features Boney James, Greg Karukus on keyboards and a smokin' drum solo from Don L. Spencer Jr.
