not putting the drummer down by any means . hes a very good drummer,, but the solo wasn't very exciting,it sounded like he was warming up or just practicing,,but hey I wasnt there so I have no i dea what the vibe was like. This song has so much "build" to it I just think it should have kept up the energy of the song and and maybe a little shorter. but again I wasnt there so I'll stfu now. ; )
this was at wiggins park camden nj they would leave the capitol jazz fest and come to camden wjjz now gone would have it by the looks of the crowd it was one of the years it was free i was there but cant say what year

I love Boney James ! I can listen to him all night long !! I listen to his songs as I clean my place or going to work. ! I was introduce to smooth jazz when I moved from the south east to Arizona. I was flippin threw the radio stations and I heard Boney James song called, After The Rain ! I was hook'd, lines, and sunken in his songs. I'm a true believer in Smooth Jazz ! :) Thank you Boney James !
Didn't After the Rain come out in 1998 on the Sweet Thing cd? So how can this be shot in 1995? I cannot forget because this cd is the only thing that helped me survive the misery of St Louis, Misery...Oh yeah I went to see Boney James there in the theater in the round by myself...front row seat surrounded by couples...lucky me!!!
@deregram2 Thank you Buffalo for fostering Spyro Gyra and Jay Beckenstein, the undisputed god of the sax! I think Boney is the closest thing to Jay around right now though. Just saw Spyro Gyra at the Naperville IL jazz festival, incredible!
lool i also noticed that he was playing an alto in one part of the vid and a tenor in the rest lool, only sax players would pick that up? lool im only joking!
@536767676533766 dude this was made back in 1995, 15 years ago. Cameras weren't as good back then as they are now, different technology dude. Yeah, there were a couple shots inserted in this video here that were actually from other songs where it showed him playing his alto but with the audio staying the same (with him playing his tenor for this song), but it's still not "bad" because most people can't tell.
@536767676533766 you can't compare filming live in daylight using audio-ins that come from a sound board versus studio filming where lighting, sound, and other factors are tightly monitored in a closed and controlled studio environment. why be so critical of someone else's video? geez it is what it is, being critical isn't going to fix anything lol
wait that doesn't make sense....nbc100, you said that this video was recorded in 1995. However, the song "After the Rain" was released on "sweet thing" in 1997
OMG! I never thought it was the live version. Great, simply great as usual, though. Boney James is from outer space, isn't he? I wish there were more Boney's live tunes 'cause they all sound awesome. Thanks for sharin' this video. Peace and God bless!!!
I agree its not the best drum solo but you still gotta love Boney. I could listen to this song all day. Now if you want to hear a good drum solo watch Rachelle Ferrell - Waiting (live) 3/3 (its on youtube just copy and paste)
Cool video, Boney is the man; however, this video is a fraud. The first shot, he's playing a tenor, then he's playing an alto. You can't fool a saxophone player,SORRY!!!
Not a fraud, the audio was from one song, the video is from different. Since it was shot one camera, we look for the closed match shots to cover and eratic shots from the single camera. Only pros pick his up. The general viewing public does not. It also allows us to get a multicamera look from a single camera shoot/

People i just give advice for a video quality, why James Cameron can make a great movie in 1992 Terminator 2, and you not.
James Cameron is just humen and you too ?????

I don't understand why someone picks a set of numbers for their Youtube "name".
I guess it's just something that bugs me - no offense to you. I like the video. The
sound is very good using Sony headphones with Windows 7. If someone uses
"numbers" it seems like they are embarrassed by their opinion or their language.

@saulsleeper What ever
536767676533766 1 year ago
What do all these weird numbers mean? - think of a nickname and then you can't
hide behind you're untraceable comments. You'll be less robotic, too.

beginning part is indeed a tenor sax right?
PissOffco 2 years ago 3
yes, the reason for sax change is that it was shot single camera and made to look multi-camera by using shots from other songs.

I am sorry but that had to be the weakest drum solo ever. I mean when you get that much time to yourself you gotta let it rip.

Its not the best drum solo, but it's what happened at this live event. Client paid for it all, so client gets it all.

that wasnt really a solo it was just a drum groove, and i personally thought it was whack, this guy wasnt repetitive, i like that in solos
