  • yea thats why i kinda hate drumline, fast playin really isint my thing

  • do you mean the movie or just drum lines in general?

  • just in general. i mean im goin into highschool next year and i practice with them every wensday so come september im going to be in the drumline (hopefully)

i mean im going to play in it but i really have to start getting used to playing fast

  • Yeah. It's a big change. Just don't forget the Ancient style! but good luck with that!!

  • thnx its not as fun as fife&drum though cause most guys i barely kno but il get used to it

  • yeah. but you'll be the cool one because you do other types of drumming!

  • idk i mean i got like 2 other guys in my corp that already play in a drumline so im kind of a follow up

  • but still... now there will be three of you!

  • true!

  • yea this is how my corp plays "ancient" style. we dont play with a modern beat, thats what ticks me off about old guard. i mean they play well but for what they represent its not right! they play modern drum beats but they represent a regiment from the 1700's.

  • precisely. I hate how everyone thinks all the kids who can play fast and do stick clicks are "super cool" are the best too.

  • lol my group does stick clicks but we keep it realistic. we try and make the clicks go with the tune.

  • wow I haven't listened to that since I put it up a year ago and I think it sounds awful!!! I'm defiantly putting this one up tomorrow!

  • That was amazing. I think this is the best video of Connecticut Halftime on Youtube. Don't listen to FatatlityXerna. You played it the way it was supposed to be. This is a traditional song and playing it any other way than what you did we be wrong. I like how you get the flams quiet. I myself play in an ancient fife and drum corps. What corps do you play in? Anyway, once again, excellent job. I hope to see more videos of you playing this kind of music. 5/5!

  • Wow thanks!!! I feel the same way, you don't have to add a bunch of tricks to sound "pro". It REALLY ticks me off when people don't take the time to understand and respect the Ancient Style. I'm in the Westbrook Junior Colonials. What about you?

  • You should try playing it in 5 stroke roll form and try speeding it up to around 120. Also try adding flams to everywhere you can. just by doing that it'll sound so pro. Especially the triplets.

  • thats not how our corps plays it, but thanks anyway!

  • Oh well...in that case i like your dog.

  • Thanks! I guess you are just one of those people who think that speed and tricks make things better... but you are missing out on a lot

  • Um... so what the person's saying is basically to improv? I also think that this is the best version of this song on youtube. I'm playing this for a festival, so i'll use this as a reference. I'll tell you how it went after festival.

  • Wow thanks!!!! I'm going to (hopefully) take all the songs I already have up and re-record them tomorrow so I can see how my drumming has changed. Then I'll put them up!! Good luck at the festival!

  • i really wanted to here the fill

  • maybe ill do it again with the fillers...

  • hmm... thought the light behind you is kinda cool, I think it'd be a good idea to light your drumpad. And perhaps find a more stable surface. So you need a stand for that thing? hm, your birthday isn't too far away, I guess.

  • hahah! well as you can see in my other vids i movie to the dining room. so there are more lights. ha ha ha... my bday is in 5 months

  • Um, yeah... I know... I remember the day, vaguely.

  • :-P

  • woah ur good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! omggg

  • haha thanks!
