@david98nano really, you should try also watching other specialists and their different methods. some dogs might get very obedient after being trained by cesar, but noone knows if the domination theory is true...and you don't always have to drag a dog around with a tight leash and finger jab it to get its obedience like cesar does...

Cesar once worked with a rescue dog that its owners adopted out of pity, thinking that it would eventually open up to them. After several years the dog was still scared of them. Cesar worked with it and got it behaving like a normal dog again. It was wonderful to see how the dog was finally able to play with its owners instead of hiding all the time. I don't approve of Cesar's harsh methods, but he can also be very gentle with shy dogs - so I wouldn't say that he's completely incompetent.
Someone needs to invent a device that interprets the dogs' brainwave frequency. Then, the next step is to know what the dog is thinking. The dog may be upset with its' food, or it has a parasite. Dogs rarely cause trafic jams or film porno movies. Yes, this is a threat to many snotty types.
Do any of you Milan supporters actually see what he's doing to the dog here? First he's setting it up to fail by offering it the hose. Then, when it does the behaviour he's supposed to be avoiding he presses his thumbs into its eyes to get it to release. Is anyone surprised he was bitten? He presses the mouth against the cheeks until the pain causes the dog to release. He is a fucking idiot. Teaching a release command is so easy, but Millan is hypnotized by the idea that the dog was trying to dominate him by biting the hose, so he had to show it who was the boss.

@SuperMRAgent, Cesar is not a trainer, and he is not training anyone. If you want to do anything with your dog, you don't go to Millan. And if you really want to rehab a dog, you employ the methods of Donaldson or Dr. Overall or Dr. Yin.

@intoccabile i agree you do have to be firm & consistent, your dog needs to respect you but also I believe they can like you at the same time, regardless of size! What I've seen Millans dogs don't respect him they're just fearful. Does respect mean fear to you? They are not the same to me...

@AboutDogTraining3 You gotta address the problem to rehabilitate the dog. Dog is bound to put up a fight. It's not his intention to fight the dog, but the dog (especially a bulldog lol) is gonna put up a fight for whatever his problem is (I'm guessing some sorta obsession/agression with the hose).
@ExplodingPea, the dog is not 'bound' to fight. He fights back because Millan is an immediate threat to him. Whether Millan's intention is to fight or not, it doesn't matter - He always fights the dog. It's is so easy to get dogs to resolve this problem - however the procedure is slow and not TV friendly because to the viewer almost nothing happens.

@AboutDogTraining3, the only thing the dog learns that that the particular situation Millan put him in causes pain. He is just as likely to respond to this pain aggressively in an attempt to drive it a way, this is why Millan uses so much force. In order to get the dog to shut down he often has to be quite brutal. BTW Moron, there have been studies showing this link between dominance approach and induced aggression.
Secondly, the dog isn't being taught anything, he is simply being abused.
Anyone who thinks Cesar is abusing an animal is more than likely a poorly educated individual. And usually it's the owner's fault for not training their pets.

It's really not hard to show another life form, that you're the boss, show them discipline & love, by giving them exercise, treats, toys, while making sure they're staying balanced, and not becoming a spoiled brat like an 8 year old kid, if you can't handle a big dog, that obviously needs balance, don't get a fucking 80lb bull dogg, that can pull you around?, that's why we have border collies, labs.

@Da323Guy He DOES NOT help dogs, he does not train, rehabilitate or work with dogs. He is using aggression and the most common responce to that is shown on the video above. I want my dog doing as told because he wants to and trusts me, not because of fear. That kind of handling is what a bully would do. Someone working with dogs does not punish a terrified dog. @canadianroot Putting dogs into serious states of anxiety and stress in nearly every show is mistreating dogs. It's called Flooding, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Learned-Helplessness. An old form of training that makes a dog face it's fear so much that the dog becomes stressed and goes into shutdown. The aim is to make a dog relax and except the fear as something that isn't going to do any harm. However, this has been proven to increase the chances of being bitten and only be a short-term fix.

If his old dog Daddy(he died when he was 16 years old unfortunately) is a very balanced dog and if it's a very balanced dog it proves that Cesar knows something...

Do any of you Milan supporters actually see what he's doing to the dog here? First he's setting it up to fail by offering it the hose. Then, when it does the behaviour he's supposed to be avoiding he presses his thumbs into its eyes to get it to release. Is anyone surprised he was bitten? This poor dog had no option but to fail this test. The man is a mongrel of the lowest order.

i don't think anything Cesar did here taught that dog ANYTHING. if he wanted to teach it who is the boss, it didn't work because the dog nipped him twice. he's trying to enforce his male machismo on dogs to control them, which doesn't "teach" them, and using buzz words like "energy" and "their space" doesn't make it more valid. he does appear to get good results, but there's a lot of editing of the episodes to create his "success" stories. and he's not going to show the abject failures is he

He presses the mouth against the cheeks until the pain causes the dog to release. He is a fucking idiot. Teaching a release command is so easy, but Millan is hypnotized by the idea that the dog was trying to dominate him by biting the hose, so he had to show it who was the boss.

@JustDogsTV Everyone has different methods. Large breeds though should "respect" you, not "like" you. I own an American Bully, he "likes" my mother but he "respects" me.. I've been firm with him. The 1 person he gravitates to is me. Not the person who holds, cuddles, spoils and plays with him. But the complete opposite. He follows me, sleeps with me, doesn't make a move until I've done it first. Large breeds need a Leader not a 'friend'.

This is a latin version of the show. The show itself is from USA, Cesar is speaking english but there's a spanish voice-over (btw, I've heard him speaking spanish and that's not his voice, it's a voice actor).

@ExplodingPea, the dog is not 'bound' to fight. He fights back because Millan is an immediate threat to him. Whether Millan's intention is to fight or not, it doesn't matter - He always fights the dog. It's is so easy to get dogs to resolve this problem - however the procedure is slow and not TV friendly because to the viewer almost nothing happens.

@AboutDogTraining3 he doesn't start a fight he triggers a reaction from the dog so that he can correct it. this way the dog will learn what not to do in that situation. he needs to do to show the owners how to correct the dog in different situations. now before blabbing out stuff like idiot atleast think WHY he would do it than you might have come up with this awnser yourself but hey to some people thinking is a hard thing to do nothing personal is just the truth :P

@AboutDogTraining3, the only thing the dog learns that that the particular situation Millan put him in causes pain. He is just as likely to respond to this pain aggressively in an attempt to drive it a way, this is why Millan uses so much force. In order to get the dog to shut down he often has to be quite brutal. BTW Moron, there have been studies showing this link between dominance approach and induced aggression.
Secondly, the dog isn't being taught anything, he is simply being abused.

It's really not hard to show another life form, that you're the boss, show them discipline & love, by giving them exercise, treats, toys, while making sure they're staying balanced, and not becoming a spoiled brat like an 8 year old kid, if you can't handle a big dog, that obviously needs balance, don't get a fucking 80lb bull dogg, that can pull you around?, that's why we have border collies, labs.
P.S, I have 2 pitts, 1 rednose and 1 bluenose, as well as a 3 year old German Sheppard.

@canadianroot Putting dogs into serious states of anxiety and stress in nearly every show is mistreating dogs. It's called Flooding, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Learned-Helplessness. An old form of training that makes a dog face it's fear so much that the dog becomes stressed and goes into shutdown. The aim is to make a dog relax and except the fear as something that isn't going to do any harm. However, this has been proven to increase the chances of being bitten and only be a short-term fix.

Also,you may know that he has a big pack of dogs in his rehabilitation center.If his methods were harmful and making dogs aggressive,he would get killed by his pack of dogs.
If his old dog Daddy(he died when he was 16 years old unfortunately) is a very balanced dog and if it's a very balanced dog it proves that Cesar knows something...

@hakan999999999 half of the people that dont agree with his methods are people or "trainers" that are only fit to "train" dogs without behavioral problems...they are the same people that are quick to tell owners that their dog is too aggressive to "train" and needs to be put to sleep..alll ALicia silverstones.....CLUELESS

Really? So you consider animal behaviorists who actually have qualifications as such to be "clueless"? So Dr. Ian Dunbar, Dr. Sophia Yin, Dr. Feddersen Petersen and all the other qualified behaviorists out there, who train problem dogs without the use of torture, are "clueless"! Why? Because they don't have a TV show? How thick can you get?
