Nothing changes for felons as long as we have christians republicans that believe in unforgiveness and promote a life where we can not even rent a a abandoned Hud homes. If we can not get a license to improve our lives then we are forced to be crimnals .Its kinda good to now that politicans and republicans can be just a little lower scum also .Makes me feel a little bit better.
The common misconception is that all felonies are "Mal in Se" crimes when in reality, they are not. In fact, only about 15% of crimes considered "felonies" in the US, including most Federal Felonies are not "Mal In Se crimes" (evil acts), but in fact are "Mal Prohibitum" or acts which are illegal because they are prohibited, and in many many cases, prosecution is highly selective, especially at the federal level, where prosecutions are usually politically motivated for various reasons.
The real big issue is that not all people are prosecuted "when they break the law" but when a prosecutor decides to go forward with prosecution, and in fact, felonies happen every day where people are neither caught nor convicted. So the question is should those unlucky enough to have been caught and convicted be punished on behalf of those who are not caught, or punished for the benefit of those who often commit crimes but get the benefit without the punishment.
Not all felonies are big time offences. Lying to obtain a D.L. is a felony. If you work for a week while collecting unemployment it's a felony cheat on your taxes felony owe more than $5,000 in child support is a felony and the list goes on and on..
Yes, I agree with you, it is kind of punishment them. But not only because of this. In this case loosing rights it is kind of our protection from them. Because human's being essence can not be changed. It is related to the "Mowgli effect". If child was grown by animals and was returned to the human society even when he was only five this child couldn't be human again. Similar situation here. If somebody have done sth very serious against people even only once he has already shown who he is.
if thats truy u writing this shows that you are permanently ignorant. that prob not being case you just need to be willing to look at the facts. such as how most don't get a right to counsil and trial when charged and all the other issues that go along with our justice system.
Thank you for your comment. However, I believe, that the discussion cannot be productive with anybody who starts arguing by offending his opponent. Also, it seems for me that you do not have a reasonable foundation to take this superior position and evaluate the level of my intelligence. Good luck in your life.
guess you are permanetly ignorant, thats ok just be carefull, you open your mouth around government they'll label you mentally not all there and take your gun rights which they definatly should in your case.

Hi Andy. In my opinion, yes, people should loose their rights to vote after a serious crimes, such as felony. Despite they have been punished by the law they have already shown that they are not normal members of society and as a result they can not make any decisions for the society. I'm not sure about my country, as far as I know in Russia people still have all rights after prison.
and don't for get theft.lol
