The Sylvers were amazing singers and performers. I was eleven years old when they were out. So at that time did not realize their talent. Well..listening to their music today (2011) I am truly a new fan. Leon lyrics in "Fool's Paradise, Forever Yours and the list continues, are so true to the world today. Great song writting! I love the entire family but I must say Edmund was my man. You are missed and God bless this very talented family.
@Nanadsyl Nah you are right he didn't,he didn't really need them. Angie took after her mother earlier than I thought! Easier to tell after the braces. She's the only girl that actually looks like her.
@RememberTheTime09 I know Angie is still a beautiful lady today! They all pretty much look the same. I want to know what my baby Ricky looks like. I know prison can be hard so I hope hes got his fine intact lol!!
@Nanadsyl You can't fade true beauty that easily. I've seen pics of Ricky in later years...he's still Ricky. All I'm gonna say is our correctional system is close to a joke and I hope they get out for good soon. I wish them the best.
@TheSunnyStar Hilarious but he could do other things. He was very acrobatic and had great microphone tricks/technique...he was amazing in his own right. Great singer,plus a drummer,songwriter and very,very handsome. R.I.P Edmund!
I've recently begun listening to The Sylvers' music within the year, and even with the Unsung episode, I'm still trying to figure out which member is which..lol. I think I have the boys down, but the girls I'm still unsure of who is who. I thought at peak there were 9 members, but I see on several clips 8 members performing; with 7 here. Which sisters are not on this performance? And of the two that are here, another poster mentioned Angie as having the green scarf; who is the other sister here?

But I KNEW I saw them sing it on Donny and Marie so I am SOOOO glad someone posted this because I knew I was not crazy...Well not because of that anyway!

I remember them on Captain & Tenille and plenty of times on the Merv Griffin Show (remember him?), American Bandstand and Soul Train. Totally missed this one!

@jaydashan At least the father could not beat them! They did what they liked. The difference is visible!! They danced and sang with the heart and not just thinking about fame and money. Also the lyrics are far better, more positive lyrics. And another thing in Jackson 5, the only one that smiles is the Michael Jackson and still always looking to the side to see what his father is thinking, it's sad.

I always felt the Sylvers didn't make good use of all their talents with all the members of the family the way the Jacksons did. Even though Leon was the star, Foster was the 1st(and youngest) star of the family and the didn't use him enough. Pat could've been a solo star. She could sing and she had the looks

Then when Foster, Pat and Angie joined them and Charmaine left the group, Angie took over the female leads. But all of them could sang...it was nice to hear Pat, Olympia, Ricky and James do some leads vocals on some of the albums (in the case of Olympia, she had ONE lead with Leon)
I would love to know the backstory on this family..HOW did they do it!?? I can't imagine working together with all my siblings..but damn- they sounded so GOOD.
Did y'all notice Edmund is wearing knee pads in this video. This is why he is able to do those great knee spins. I just love it.
