@Boutdenature Hii I only have one question if you say (just an example) I don't speak French. It would be Je ne parle pas Français right? But can you say it without the 'pas' I mean I don't understand what pas is for. Thanks
@DianaDramaTwilight : "pas" is a negation term in french. "pas"="dont". I DONT speak french = je ne parle PAS francais, i DONThave money = je n'ai PAS d'argent
Do you get me?? u must use "pas" if u want say something in a negation way....
once you learn something like french it mkes it easier to learn other langauges like german, and russian. if you know spanish; italian portoguese and maybe french will be easier. trust me i should know
There's lots of French in English. I didn't realize there were so many French words in the English language: chef, cuisine, boulevard, camouflage, débris, début, bouquet, grand prix, façade, chandelier, chauffeur, cajole, arbitrage, naïve, nonchalant, matinée, macabre, entrée, résumé, communiqué, tranche, en route, rendez-vous, prix fixe, fiancée, and a whole lot more.
??? u still need to learn dude,..both sentences in french means the samething...and i doubt some1 will say comment etes-vous....that sentence is never used in french...when french ppl will ask you how u feel they will say Comment allez-vous..
??? in french the sentence comment etes-vous is a sentence that no1 will ever use bec only some1 retarded would say that....and i dunno why u trying to prove me ur right bec my native language is french u dipshit
I don't care if you are a native speaker, I know native english speakers who have brutal grammar. Just because you speak it doesn't mean you are right.
And I don't give a damn if that isn't said as much, it doesn't make it wrong you moron.
So I'm not going to waste anymore time on a dumbass like you.
ok then ill make it simple for you to understand...that sentence " IS NOT USED IN ANY SENTENCES bec its not the right grammar!!" its like if i were saying " hi me not good "
and one more thing...just by saying "go play some more computer games kid" let me think ur a 12 years old...for ur information i dont play any games bec its just boring!
I love how she doesn't tell us that "salut" and "ca va" are to be used in conversations with familiar people..... And the phrase for "see you later" is "a tout a l'heure."
I barely speak french, but I can tell she is saying a lot of words with a weird accent like "bien" and "rien" and "demain" she pronounces them weirdly.
shs speaking with out a quebecan accent, shes european...they speak not the same...i speak french a bit and i live in quebec and ive been to francemcompletley diffrent..
if you come in france and you say "bonne après midi" to me i think i will laugh, good afternoon in french is "bonjour" too. In fact you say "bonjour" from the morning to the evening. "bonsoir" is for the evening. you can also say "salut" for all situation. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, good night, bye and hi can be translated by "salut" its easier for all and we don't care about those formalities.
It all depends on how well you pick up things. Both French and German are latin based languages. Some will find German easier and some will find French easier. I think French is easier, but I was raised speaking it as my second language. German, I have tried, but it is hard to learn a language on your own without a teacher. My high school never offered it, so I stuck with French since I knew I would ace the class.
It's not very smart to teach sentences with liaisons without explanations : in "bon après-midi", "bon" doesn't sound the same way as in "bon voyage". It needs to be explained as, even for french, it's difficult. So for foreigners...
Your "Learn French" system is very simple & good. Being able to SEE & hear the word/phrase - then hear the slow "broken down" of it is so helpful - thanks

It all depends on how well you pick up things. Both French and German are latin based languages. Some will find German easier and some will find French easier. I think French is easier, but I was raised speaking it as my second language. German, I have tried, but it is hard to learn a language on your own without a teacher. My high school never offered it, so I stuck with French since I knew I would ace the class.

german a latin based language ? ? With all due respect I think you're wrong :) Latin based: French, italian , spanish , portuguese...Salut !
gambrinus777 2 years ago
dibathory- german is definitely not a latin based language.
Romantic (latin based) languages are spanish, french, portuguese, italian, and romanian.
German is *gasp* a GERMANIC language, as well as norwegian, swedish, danish, icelandic, and english.
So, no. Not latin based.

dismalcity 3 years ago
«Ça va?» as a question (raise your voice at the end to indicate that you are asking a question) means, "Are things going well?" or, "How are things?"
«Ça va» or «ça va bien» can be responses to this question, meaning "Yes, things ARE going well."
I hope that helps!
