I understand the change in momentum, etc. from the difference in materials used between this pen and an actual balisong, but my concern is that it will not be able to mimic the actual movements of one, so is it possible to use this pen as a sort of trainer, while still be able to use an actual balisong in the same way doing the same things?

@ANorselegend well, the biggest difference is probably that this doesn't have any indication of what the sharp edge is supposed to be. So if you train using this and switch to a real balisong you'll probably cut yourself. Certain sequences of tricks will be possible with this, but not with the real bladed ones, because you'll likely switch to the wrong handle.

To everyone who is saying "just get real one", sadly, balisongs aren't legal everywhere. I live in California along with tens of thousands people who WANT a balisong, but don't want to take the risks involved with smuggling illegal weaponry (despite them being tools instead of exclusively weapons -_-). Also I would like to say that I personally think it's a frickin stupid law that just holds hobbyists down. Thumbs up if you agree, please.
