  • The tune sounds a lot like" Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag" .

  • Could 4 Belcantos be 4 Richters maybe? I've just now listened to some of their (Belcantos) Gloria recordings and they sound very, very similar to early Richters on Tempo...

  • I personally don't think so - I don't hear Richter's voice (which is quite characteristic) on the Belcanto's Telefunken recordings. To further confuse matters, it might be that the group recording for Gloria just shares the name, but has no connection to the Telefunken group! However, there is a mixed group from Leipzig (two female, three male singers) who recorded for Clangor. The male voices sound similar to me, so maybe they had a "guest" member when a male quartet was needed?

  • Yes, Telefunken group does sound different! Perhaps it is a different group after all. And I remember the female voice in the "5 Belcantos"; they also used name "5 Belcantores" on Kristall sessions (and I think Kristall & Clangor group is the same one, they sound identical). To be more specific, I've listened to Gloria's "Edelweiss" & "Lore" and they really remind a lot of the "4 Wedding-Boys" (Richters)...

  • This is FANTASTIC! 5 Stars, Is this record a brown wax? Because It sure looks that way on my computer!

  • Glad you like it! Yes, this is brown wax, as originally were all of Telefunken's cheaper "Musikus" label. They reverted to black wax later, though.

  • HOW AWSOME! I Love This!

  • Thanks for sharing! wonderful music, great style!
