Intel and AMD make CPUs. nVidia and ATI make chipsets for motherboards as well as GPUs. Intel sometimes makes ethernet drivers and integrated video chipsets (though not so much anymore).

You can have different BRANDS of the chipset, but they are all fundamentally the same thing, just a different brand. ie) Gigabyte, Foxconn, Asus etc etc

The reason your consoles are so fast, is because they're only running the OS kernel, the game, and a few tiny additions. Those consoles have very little RAM. A PS3, for an example, has 256 MB system and 256 MB video.

In contrast, I'm generally using around 1.8 GB of ram just to run win7 + Firefox 4.0b8pre.

@sobekflakmonkey Those are obviously only a few of the programs I'm running. I can handle 50 firefox tabs (max I've ever had to) without noticing any lag. That laptop cost 599 dollars last year, and costs around 300-400 now. It is, by no means, a gaming laptop. But if a console was to run more than the very very small OS & the game, it'd run games slower than my laptop.

That's exactly why you can't compare PCs with consoles. One's general purpose, the other's not.

@sookoll23 yes, but thats not the point, im talking for gaming in general, dont really care about that other stuff, i have my laptop for email and internet and such things, and i mostly use consoles for video games, to have a decent gaming computer you need to spend a larger amount of money, and to be honest look at the ps3 in comparison, look at the amazing first party games it pumps out that, games like uncharted 2, killzone 3 and God of War 3 definitely hold up to the best pc standards.

first almost everyting near it gets blown to shit by amazing big wind. then the spot where the bomb dropped the air gets vacuüm so all the winds comes back even faster. and then everything is gone. so this is not that realistic actually.

It's fun playing around with a nuke on Garry's mod, but this is a tactical nuke ... not a nuke. If you send a normal nuke down near friendlies and enemies, that wouldn't be a wise decision. Also, it will only be DirectX 9.0c compatible due to the fact that Windows XP(without a DX10 crack) will not run DX10, nor will your Radeon 9550 due to the fact that DX10 is in the hardware of the card.

Running it on the lowest resolution on the lowest settings should run it fine, but expect random freezeups and possibly some lag.

Kinda ruin the game in it took out the entire map. The nuclear missile is ment to keep the game (fairly) balanced. If used correctly it can take out an entire team, but I think he was just demonstrating the graphics, not going to the "uberkill"
