  • Imagine creationism being part of the Medical science curriculum? Hahahaha, American doctors would eventually prescribe praying as a cure to all sorts of ailments. Imagine going to a Doctor and he says "Well I think you need to pray to your Intelligent designer abit more, judging by your health you really need it, heres a prescription for some prayers by the local church....Their prayers will help you get better". LOL

  • That's pretty cute, teach Med Students how to prescribe Hail Mary's to their patients while you're at it.

  • wussy

  • I am muslim and i just dont see the point of teaching Creationism as part of a Science course in a classroom. If you want to teach them Creationism, then teach it in a religious class, or a catholic school etc. Creationism =/= Science, so it cant be taught as part of a science class, whether its Christian creationism, or Muslim creationism, which are both essentially the same.

  • You all attack creationists with a religious fervor of your own. Have you ever stopped to seriously study the evidence for Darwin's theory? If you did, you'd calmly accept that he was wrong by all the evidence that proves him wrong rather than making arrogant looking-down-your-nose cracks about creationist in an attempt to hide your own heated frustration that someone is challenging your religion. Yes, that's what it is. Evolution is the selfish atheist's religion and you're deluding yourself.

  • @7F0X7 Evolution is not a fact some might say, which is fine, but that is the accepted scientific point of view. Creationism is something out of the Bible, Torah or Quran, so its a religious point of view exclusive to Abrahamic religions. So i dont see why Creationism needs to be taught in a classroom if the school doesnt teach religion, simple as that. What about the Buddhist religion, they might not believe in Creationism, should that be taught as well? This is coming from a muslim.

  • @iHacksorzz You make a very good point. Creationism in a religious context is not science and does not belong in a science class. However, from what the fossil record and geologic rock layers indicate, I believe based on the physical evidence in the world that some omnipotent creator must have created all life on Earth at relatively the same time. I'm not saying that as a Christian, I'm saying that based solely on science and THAT's what I would love to debate an evolutionist on.

  • Naziism, misogyny, polygamy, all points of view. The flying spaghetti monster, the turtle god, Muhammad the pedophile prophet. Good idea Huckabee you fucking failed fallen craven coward creationist zealot moron. No wonder America is known to be the least intelligent civilized country on earth

  • Children have the right to view all the theories, including that the Earth used to be part of the Eternal Kingdom of Mighty Odin, I mean, God, but when giants (dinosaurs) invaded it, it was moved out of "Eternity" and the Aesir, I mean, Angels, created, out of Odin's Eye, a Mortal (temporal) universe to put the Earth into. But the Earth started to decay (evolution) under the influence of the giants and it's up to humans, who volunteered, to finish the job, so the human race can return to Heaven.

  • @Unicron4ever

    Begorrah and bejaysus,

and sure praise be to the All Might Be Magic Man.

  • @tellnet Save Me Jebus!

  • @Unicron4ever

And may the good lawd shave your hole, and bless you with the knowledge that the difference between a woman in a bath and a nun is that the nun has her soul full of hope.

Praise be, I say praise bees and prays be to the All Might Be Magic Man.

  • OMG i get to learn about dragons now!!!!!!

so when do we learn how to shoot lightning out of our hands???

    lol so stupid

  • If you're Christian and you're children don't know creationism, maybe you aren't going to church enough. Remember: a good brain-washing requires repetition, lots and lots of repetition.

  • @fatouche99 That's why evollution should be taught to unborn fetuses. It needs all the repetition it can get.

  • yeah I agree. The only problem is that creationism is bullshit.

    >Why cant we also teach the alternative theory that the holocaust never happened. Oh, and the alternative theory that jews are behind everything bad in this world.

What about those. Are we going to have censorship towards Neo-Nazis? well that wouldnt be very fair would it.

  • But Mr. Huclabee - we are talking about the science class room.

Evidence based science. If you want to teach creationism then lets mandate a comparative religion class. That would be great.

  • IS THAT A BOY OR A GIRL!??!??!!!?!!

  • @EdgePitSwing

    It's Mike Huckabee!!!

  • Well Mr. Huckabee, the problem with that is that we're talking about a science course. Creationism is not, by any means, scientific. That should be the end of that, but some brain-dead people in America still insist on dragging the rest of us down.

  • then teach it in your Sunday school classes

  • This is just making a brand new war.

  • One single question: What the hell does creationism have to do with biology? Every arguement I've heard about creationism has nothing to do with biology what-so-ever.

  • I'd like to thank my grand parents for immigrating to a country where creationism has no hope of ever making it in the school system, I even went to a private catholic school, even they refused to teach this shit because it makes no sence. !.....

  • @55metalmonkey Ditto. Catholic school, no creationist teaching, but we have a problem in the UK.

The national curriculum requires that Darwinian evolution is put across as the dominant scientific theory, but also requires that pupils are taught how scientific controversies can result from different ways of interpreting empirical data. That's the back door to teaching creationism & some faith based school are exploiting the loophole. As yet I don't what to do, but I'm working on the problem.

  • @GuillemotWatcher One simple thing separates science fact from general thoughts and ideas... it must be able to survive peer reviwed scrutiney, untill that happens it's just a thought put to paper. Creationism can't meet this benchmark beacuse it uses poorly conducted (juvenile) research altered to fit a pre-concieved ideal based on faith. To propose creationism is the 2nd (or next) most dominant theory is silly since it's not a "real theory" in the scientific context of theory.

  • @55metalmonkey I agree. I believe our curriculum needs to define 'scientific controversy' & in relation to teaching the theory of evolution, specifically exclude Intelligent Design. The wedge strategy of the Discovery Institute is working & the British government need to wake up.

In the Dover case it was ruled that "The overwhelming evidence at trial established that ID is a religious view, a mere re-labelling of creationism, and not a scientific theory." It should not be allowed to be taught.

  • @GuillemotWatcher at least the precidence has been set that it's crap. I would still be inclined to call/email my MP and let him/her know your opinion on the loophole and the possibility of it turning into a never ending legal battle when every religion on the planet wants their baseless crap ideas on how we came to be taught as well. Judicial 3 ring circus with a full freak sideshow comes to mind.

  • Who's view of creation, the Islamic view? the Hindu view?

  • Science is NOT democratic and science does NOT provide a version of the truth or a "point of view".Science provides THE TRUTH.If Mike disagrees he is invited to jump from a skyscraper.

  • Huckabee wants Christianity crow barred into the public school system. This guy is a liberal asshole.

  • girl or boy at the beginning....

    ?

  • Science is not a point of view.

Science is fact. The scientific term theory is derived when a hypothesis is so thoroughly tested or supported by evidence that no contrary hypothesis could explain it.

Gravity works because of certain laws. Gravity is a theory. Do you say God's holding you down or a giant multi armed invisible octopus.

E-MC2 is an equation based on scientific theory but you wouldn't say god makes an Atomic Bomb go boom would you?

  • *facepalm* I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

maybe after they give both "theories" to the beginnings of life equal time, they can give the theory of astrology equal time to astronomy. That way, we can just let the kids decide.

I'm so glad I have family in Canada I can run to when the US becomes a Theocracy. Good luck to all you Americas with American parents. lol.

  • Man I want creationism to be taught in schools.. you know, out of morbid curiosity to see whether things could get any MORE fucked up. lol

  • "The state should give exposure to ALL points of view" I must say I jolly well agree. Included should be Bible Criticism, psychosocial manipulation and evangelical terrorism by religionists, clergy sexual and fiduciary scandals, how to identify and debunk charlatan preachers, pastorbation....etc

  • Creationismin in public schools? Sure, why not?

Lets also teach about a flat earth, fake moon landing, alien reptoids, the "NWO", the "fake holocaust" etc etc...

We should add a course about the possibility that demons are responsible for diseases in all medical schools. If a doctor is having a hard time diagnosing a patient, call in the excorcist!

NO NO NO you stupid little man. If we start teaching every stupid "theory", there will be no time for ACTUAL learning. ID-iot...

  • @Zentz29

"If a doctor is having a hard time diagnosing a patient, call in the excorcist!"

Medfag here. You made my sides hurt from laughter.

  • @Kamehamayhem Always glad to put a smile on someone's face! lol

What does "Medfag" mean & is that a Dragonball Z reference in your name?

  • @Zentz29

Medfag = any individual with a career in medicine

And yes, it is a DBZ reference.

  • As much as I abhor much of what religion has done to fuck up this world, it has also brought us amazing art, music, and architecture. And for the purely educational aspect, I find nothing wrong with teaching it, not as a given, but as something that affects people's lives around the world, and more than occasionally to act like idiots.

  • Fuck you cinderella is real

  • Yes, we should also teach the stork theory with sexual reproduction theory, and astrology in an astronomy class, and intelligent falling alongside the theory of gravity, faith healing alongside medicine, alchemy alongside chemistry and disc-shaped earth theory alongside the spherical earth theory.

We must teach the controversy in all aspects of science! No need to single out only the evolution 'controversy'

  • If you wanna be taught creationism go to church!!!

  • People should be allowed to teach creationism in school...the moment we can teach evolution in church.

  • and this is why america is declining. we are being run by right-wing fucking idiots.

  • Huckability is a jerk.

  • my high school in Oklahoma is planing to have a bible class next year and Im not real sure if that gos agent the law or not, and If it dose become a class i think it should teach all religion mythology and only a atheist teacher can run the class.

  • @FutureScience2012 you can contact the National center for science eduction 510 601 7203 and report that. They deal with such problems

    also visit: evolutionsiscool(com)

  • A public school student, concerned with the lack of proper teaching of evolution in Arkansas's science classrooms, asks then-governor Huckabee what the State should do. He replies that schools should teach creationism. ---- rhetoric much?

"What do you believe is the appropriate role of the state in mandating the curricula of the given course?"

The state should give exposure to ALL points of view.

  • @freakman707 "The state should give exposure to ALL points of view"

Creationism should take up a paragraph or less. "It's all magic. God did it."

    Teach the controversy:

    watch?v=lq65hlbxdmk

  • I don't think he believes what he is saying, oh I forgot his a politician

  • yes Huckabee, lets teach the holy learnings of creationism, they have no valid proof, ut lets do it so we can praise the holy sky father ZEUS/Krishna/Odin/Allah/yahwe/Jupiter/horus or one of the other thousands of creationist myths in the world.

    Fundamentalist, dumbing down the world.

  • Teaching creationism in schools is a bad idea.

  • Everything about Huckabee disgusts me.

  • they can teach creationism all day long in a religious class...creationism requires the belief in the supernatural... it ain't science....

  • As long as they explain to me how Cronus, father of Zeus became the first god and how Thor got Mjolnir, I am cool. I have always had a burning desire to know these things from a scientific point of view.

  • I couldn't agree more with the guy.

Ofcorse they should teach the story of evolution in schools and let the children decide what they believe in, the story of evolution or the theory of the FSM that created the earth, mountains, trees and midgits.

  • ALL points of view? ALL of them? In one year? This guy apparently sees in binary, where there is only creationism vs. evolution. He discounts thousands of other creation myths and theories in one swift move, which is the supreme irony of evangelicalism.

  • Fail for Huckabee.

  • I totally agree with Mike on this one... Students should be exposed to ALL points of view.... Here's a point of view for ya Mike - you're a religious nut and your existence alone disproves creationism.

  • Man, that guy is ugly.

  • All points of view? Awesome! How about the Flying Spaghetti Monster and the Great Ju Ju under the sea?

  • i hate mike huckabee more than beck.

  • I expect to learn about creationism in religious studies. In biology, I want to learn biology.

  • Should we also teach children the flat earth hypothesis or that Zuess throws lightning bolts from Mount Olympas? No!!!!!!!!

  • @bradjbourgeois73 That was Thor!lol

  • Creationism could have a place in schools, but it's not in the science class. If they have a theology curriculum, they can teach it there.

  • I'm Atheist F.Y.I. If they do teach creationism alongside evolutionism they better put the other religions genesis theories.

  • And that's how politicians say: I think evolution is bull-shit; we should teach kids creationism instead.

  • I don't think most people understand what a hypothesis has to go through before it can become a theory. Theory is the end point of the scientific method, in order to get to that point a hypothesis undergoes ruthless testing and modification, followed by relentless peer review before it can be developed into a theory. Even then it only takes one variation from the predicted outcome of a theory to completely sink it. Evolution has weathered the storm for 150 years and still remains valid.

  • Wow, I watched the clip, then I read the comments. People, I'm very disappointed in you, especially the Americans. America is about being open-minded, and having all points of view accepted by the community, not only as a whole, but even every individual. While it's true that there are several proven points about evolution, there are also several disproven points about it, which is why it's still a theory. And the sad thing, is this comment will mean nothing to you, and will likely be flagged.

  • @MazorKuziaki Yes America is all about that but science is not. In the scientific community running around and just spouting off whatever idea you have as a theory with no supporting evidence is academic suicide. In science you must have observable verifiable physical evidence to support any claims you make, that is how science works. Allowing people to express their beliefs is a nice idea, but it is not scientific and therefore has no place in a science class. Creationism belongs in philosophy.

  • @MazorKuziaki did you know you are wrong in your definition of a Scientific Theory? most people think a theory is something that is thought to occur, rather to be certain, but it actually is "An explanation of why and how a specific natural phenomenon occurs. A lot of hypotheses are based on theories. In turn, theories may be redefined as new hypotheses are tested"

  • @MazorKuziaki stupid character limit. also, I acknowledge that The Theory of Evolution has point against it, but just because it is not perfect does not mean people should turn instantly to a new theory/explanation (god and the bible) that, while perfect (and i use that term loosly), cannot be tested. I have not read all of your comments thus far (i am going to however), but i also want to point out that the Bible was written 100s of years after the supposed life of Christ

  • never seen a teen with a vocab like that before lol

  • Science deals with facts. History deals with events. Teach the age of ignorance in History class, there you can cover Creationism.

  • All points of view? Finally, the earth diver stories will receive the attention they deserve.

  • Aagh that's not a theory,

  • I haven't got a problem with teaching the creation myths of the various mainstream religions ... provided that they are all given equal credence and not taught in science class.

  • Huckabee, what a tit. Evolution has survived a monumental amount of scrutiny. That is why it is taught. Evolution is supported by a mountain of facts and evidence. Creation does not stand up to even rudimentary scrutiny.

  • Mike is a moron.

ID viz Creationism is NOT a fucking theory. It's a fairy tale promoted by similar morons to himself.

  • I am a convinced creationist, but see no reason why creationism should be taught in public schools.

they dont want it, and it would be waste of time forcing it on anyone

If the church were doing its job they would not seek state mandated support. If the apostles did not have it (state support, tax breaks, etc) WE DONT NEED IT.

Besides, America is so warlike its claims to be a christian country are shown to be false

  • I want my point of view that Mike Huckabee is a fucking moron who shouldn't be taken seriously as a politician to be taught as well.

  • sorry thats bullshit

    believing is not knowing!!

  • Science is not a collection of "points of view", Huck. Students don't need to be exposed to all points of view on subjects. That's ridiculous. Do you realize how much time that would take up? There are Native stories of creation from all over the world that are varied and highly detailed. What you mean to say is that you believe students should be exposed to YOUR POINT OF VIEW.

  • Just think, Alchemy, Astrology creationism are coming back with HAckabee! Can't wait for the other points of view too, such as Hindu, Aztec, Greek mythology and ancient eygptian origins of life to name only a few of thousands. Woo hoo! No more math, science, literature or history classes........All of our youth will learn magic and witchcraft too! Oh, Wait....He didn't get elected did he!?!

  • I agree with Huckabee. Creationism is important. My worry is that he would only have the jewish/christian form of creationism be taught.

I support the teaching of the flying spaghetti monster in schools.

    RAmen

  • i agree teach all theories...that is if creationism goes through all the scientific steps to become an actual theory, with experiments and peer-reviews supporting it

not too much to ask right? i mean if they'll make evolution a theory they'll make anything a theory

    SATIRE

  • I believe it was caused by magic fairy dust. Should rthat be taught in school too?

  • AND THEY ARE !

  • HAHAHA. Yeah okay.

There is no more evidence for creationism, than there is for magic fairy dust? that was my point.

  • This is the type of answer you get from fact denying Christians.

  • yes, i agree; we also need to teach the kids that the earth may be flat, the planets float in ether, and that you must marry your rape victims.

  • I want human sacrifice and time travel taught at my school.

  • I 'm so scare that Huckabee wants all points of view! That is unfair! We can't tolarate any other point of view in the school sistem! I don't want my kids to be expose to other ideas, it should be forbiden by law! I love the idea that my granddady was an ape!" no wonder I like babanas! lol!

  • Yeah, you see science is driven by EVIDENCE and id/creationism doesn't have any. It's not testable or observable in any way. It's not actually science. Teaching that the war of 1812 started in 1936 is about a smart and evidence based.

    Here's some "other ideas"

Astrology 9/11 denialism Moon landing hoax Holocaust denialism Why not those "ideas" as well?

  • Are you an holocaust deniel on top of all?? do you know that evolution was one of the reasoning on justyfing the holocaust? have you ever read the original name of The Origin of the Especies?? Qoute: The Origin of Spieces by Means of natural SElection or the PRESERVATION OF FAVOURED RACES IN THE STRUGLE FOR LIFE 1859!

  • "do you know that evolution was one of the reasoning on justyfing the holocaust?"

No, because Hitler was a creationist who believed in inalterable created kinds. That's also why he was a racist.

"Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord."- Adolf hitler.

  • PRESERVATION OF FAVOURED RACES

Of animals and plants. Today we call them "species". Call me when your brain grows out of the embryonic stage!

  • Wow you are already r out of arguments, punching low, huh, It was espected from some one whos mind is close to the world arround him. The worst of the blind are who refuse to see and who will not allow others to see!

  • "Wow you are already r out of arguments,"

Adolf Hitler- A creationist who claimed to be doing gods will

    Races-19 century term for species

What an UTTER moron you must be to reuse these arguments !

  • Are you an holocaust deniel on top of all?

No, moron I was comparing creationism to holocaust denial. As in "let's teach two points of view" one with evidence and one without !

  • Comment removed

  • they should also be taught of the theories of reincarnation because people believe that, and they should be exposed to all points of view [whether factual or not]

  • All points of view:

    Did the hollocaust happen?

    Is gravity real?

    Some ideas are wrong. Simple.

  • oh, and before someone says I'm being extreme, there are FOUR TIMES the number of historians that deny the hollocaust than there are scientists that deny evolution.

And gravity has more holes in its theory

Scientific theory is the highest proof you can get. If you don't like the terminology, get the fuck out

  • Lol! I agree.

  • that's just wonderful mr huckabee. what about letting all religions teach their ideas in public school?!?! think we have enough hours in a day for just religion? how about, i don't know, making it an elective in college? can we do that?

  • that's just wonderful, mr huckabee. what about letting all religions

  • oops, what a blunder!

  • if the churches and "good" christian parents do their "jobs" why do we need the bible and creation in public schools???

  • Stop preaching your religious propaganda. Creationism shouldn't be taught since it's as believable as cinderella.

  • It's amazing how people can fill emotional holes in their heart with sugar-coated fables.

  • @JWonn you've hit the nail right on the head there

  • Pth, Think of it like this: You have a 100 piece puzzle. You put the entire puzzle together except for one piece. You've lost the last piece. You take a piece from another puzzle and try to make it fit. This extra piece of puzzle was not designed to go into the puzzle you have almost completed. No matter how hard you try the piece does not fit. Men and women fit.

  • But alot of men and woman have same sex partners that are with each other and love each other to death, this fits in my opinion.

  • Pth, Love is beautiful! We are called to love each other. A man is to love a man, as a woman is to love a woman, just not romantically. I have seen both sides of this fence. I am loving you as my brother. This is why I am conversing with you. We are a carnal society: what feels good, what looks good, what tastes good - we believe is good. Not always. I am praying that God will help you see truth and that He will bring someone into your life that helps you find your way. Blessings!

  • o ya btw, what about female homosexuals?

Interesting how many of them have aids right?

  • Pth, According to the CDC over 60% of HIV transmissions are men to men. Homosexuals acquire syphilis and other sexually transmitted diseases at a rate ten times that of heterosexuals.... When we step outside of God's design there is consequence. Our sins make our lives less fruitful and more difficult.

  • Please cite your source for your HIV and STD statistics.

If HIV and other STDS are your silly god's punishment for being gay, why do heterosexuals also get those diseases?

If I were gay, I'd want to punch you in the face for making such a remark. You make me want to take a shower.

  • Jeremy, CDC and the internet are my sources. Yes, heterosexuals are also affected by sexually transmitted diseases. I never said they weren't. They are more prevalent in the gay community. I suggest you do your homework as to why. I also did not say that it was God's punishment. Man punishes himself. Sexually transmitted diseases would not exist if it were not for promiscuity. Anger comes when one does not want to accept truth. Understand, that I am not hateful towards anyone.

  • Since homosexuals AND heterosexuals get STDs, why would it matter who contracts STDs more? Is it because you want to bash gays?

What does the CDC stand for? Where is your citation?

The INTERNET is your source? Sigh, there are good and bad sources on the internet.

"[STDs] would not exist if it were not for promiscuity." Where is your science to back up that ignorant statement? The truth is that STDs don't care who they infect. Your god has nothing to do with it.

  • Jeremy, In 1746 the first case of a STD was treated. The STD was syphilis. Syphilis is contracted through human and animal sexual contact. Promiscuity has allowed this disease along with other STD's to spread. If man and woman were to have one partner, in accordance with God's laws (no animals, no multiple partners, no homosexuality, no sexual immorality) these diseases would not be spread. Pth specifically asked me how homosexuality is destructive. I simply answered his question in truth.

  • STDs have been around much longer than that. If you're claiming that 1746 was the 1st time anyone ever contracted an STD, that's absurd.

STDs can be contracted in many ways, not just through sexual contact.

Sex is not immoral. Hell, it's not even a moral issue. Don't you Xians have more important things to worry about.

If your god doesn't want people to have sex, why would She make sex one of the most powerful human urges?

  • Jeremy, "A bundle of myrrh is my beloved to me. That lies all night between my breasts." "Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth." These are scriptures in the Bible. I never said sex was immoral. God designed sex to be an exhilarating act of love that brings a man and a woman together to become one. Where their breath is no longer their own, but belongs to each other. When it is conceived from matrimonial love, not lust, it can be everlasting, never to be dulled. How great is our God!

  • "God designed sex..." You haven't presented evidence to support your claim. You haven't even proven that your god is real.

Humans don't need permission from your deity to engage in a human act that is as natural as eating or sleeping.

  • Jeremy, You are smart enough to know that religion is faith. Again, it is manifested to those that believe. What do you choose?

  • Yes, religion is based on faith, which is belief without evidence...for no good reason. With faith, you can believe ANYTHING you want. That means that your faith-claims are no less ridiculous than any other. You're no better than the Muslims, Mormons, Hindus, Scientologists, etc. I hope that you one day realize this simple point and don't entirely waste your life.

  • Jeremy, I am not better than anyone. I have personally experienced what God can do. I have gone from hate to love, proverty to prosperity, immorality to morality, found my true purpose...I have experience miracles in my life. If all this good is ridiculous to you, so be it. I choose God. It is arrogant to think that there is not something bigger and greater than ourselves. Creation of all things is miraculously intricate. Again, who do you choose?

  • People "experience" what their gods can do all the time. People report all sorts of experiences about various gods, like Allah, Yahweh, Thor, Zeus, etc. Your "experience" is evidence of nothing outside your mind.

What "miracles" have you experienced, pray tell?

    "Things" are not "created." Sigh.

  • Jeremy, I was a at dead stop with multiple cars directly in front of me. A truck hit me from behind at 60mph. When it was all done and over I was sitting about 300ft. in a gravel drive way of a church parking lot(not a another church for miles) without touching any of the vehicles in front of me. The truck that hit me was completely totalled. I didn't have a scratch or a bruise on me. Witnesses could not believe that I walked away without being injured. I call that a miracle.

  • I'd call that good luck. That's not evidence that Zeus exists or Yahweh or any god.

What about good, god-fearing people who get into accidents and die? Does that prove that your god does NOT exist?

  • Jeremy, Of course you call that luck. Unfortunely, people die. It's part of life. I don't know why people die when they do. Sometimes it's just their time. Possibly, they have completed their journey. Other times it's the act of the enemy. Good versus evil. I suppose you don't believe in that either.

  • "Unfortunely, people die. It's part of life." EXACTLY! You might have been 1 of 10 who survived HORRIFIC accidents and you claim that God saved you. If those other 9 people could be resurrected for 5 minutes, what might they say about your god?

Let's rephrase your earler statement: "Fortunately, people get lucky. It's part of life."

There's no sky nanny who intervenes in human affairs. For you to claim that you're special...that god saved YOU and let the others die, that's just arrogant.

  • Jeremy, I grew up in Hollywood, CA. I have had many friends that are homosexual and have loved them as everyone else. God's second greatest commandment: "Love your neighbor as yourself" Have you lied, stolen something, lust after someone? That makes you a liar, a thief and an adulterer. We are all guilty of sin. Jesus came so we could be forgiven for our sins. No one is better than anyone else. I believe through God we can be better people making this world a better place to live in.

  • Jesus is make believe. There is no solid evidence that he existed. If he did, he certainly wasn't divine. He was an epic conman.

"Sin" is a silly, meaningless, religious word. There is no sky nanny to "sin" against.

I'm glad that the majority of Xians today are smart enough to NOT follow the advice of their "good book." If any Xian today attempted to literally follow the bible, they'd wind up in prison.

  • Jeremy, Anything that invites consequence is "sin". I used to think like you. Here's a challenge - try God out. Just ask Jesus to come into your life. Let go of your preconceived ideas, allow the power of God's Holy Spirit to come into your life, pray, study the teachings of Jesus, pray about finding a church that meets your spiritual needs. See what the other side of the fence looks like. Within 6 months (maybe sooner), your life will be more prosperous, loving, fulfilling, enlightening..

  • "Sin" is not real. Religionists made up the word "sin" as a strawman argument.

Why don't you ask Allah, Zeus, Thor, Apollo or the Great Spirit into your life? Let go of all your preconceived ideas.

  • wrong, this comes from unpretected sex.

If a man has protected sex with another man will he get aids? highly unlikely.

So your problem is with unprotected sex, not homosexuality.

so once again, NOTHING BAD comes from homosexuality, try again.

  • pth, Again, Man and woman were made anatomically correct. Huge clue as to God's divine plan. Whether a condom is used or not, is not the issue. A man and a man coming together or a woman and woman coming together is not and will never be God's plan. If you believe the Word of God (which I do), there are numerous references to man and wife (not man and man or woman and woman). You and I obviously have different views on this subject.

  • You're main point was that gay people spread std's, im telling you that this isn't an anatomical reason, it's because they're having unprotected sex. Now you're backpedaling and saying "WELL THE BIBLE SAYS IT'S WRONG" which holds no water with me.

  • Pth, Leviticus 18:22; "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman." It is an abomination". The consequence may not be immediately manifested, but it comes eventually. Hetrosexuals that have multiple partners, adultry, priests that sexually assault children, homosexuality... all come with consequence. Protection (not full-proof) may keep you from getting an STD, but it will not save your soul or allow you to fulfill God's purpose for your life.

  • Leviticus 20:13 "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

This verse says that homosexuals should be executed. The bible is an ancient collection of desert prejudices. No rational, educated person follows the bible today.

  • Jeremy, Yes, no salvation. It is our choice. What do you choose?

  • It's disgusting that you won't even speak out against the hate-mongering in your filthy faith-book. Your make believe god says that homosexuals, stubborn children, non-virgin newly-weds and sabbath-workers should be put to death...and you support these acts.

I choose not to murder people.

  • Jeremy, Why do you think God sent Jesus? He came to add to, but not take away. Rather than destroying us, God knew that He needed to send us a savior, to show us the way and to render us forgiveness. We will all be judged if not sooner, latter. There is a consequence for wrongdoing (sin) no matter what. Stop blaming our destructive behavior on God. God is our judge not you not me. Who do you choose?

  • "Why do you think God sent Jesus?" Your god didn't send Jesus, because your god isn't real. Furthermore, there is no solid evidence that Jesus existed.

"God knew that He needed to send us a savior." You're saying that your god needed to send HIMSELF to save us from HIMSELF and He also needed to sacrifice HIMSELF to appease HIMSELF. What rational person believes this nonsense?

Why would I blame your god for anything? Your god isn't real.

    You're god isn't a judge. He's make believe.

  • Jeremy, Only one sin is unforgiveable. Do you know what it is? God knows our heart. He knows if we are stubbornly defiant. He knows our struggles. He knows if we are trying to be the best we can be. He is walking alongside trying to show us the way - if we'd only pay attention. A lot of your belief in who God is is warped. I'm guessing you have been taught wrong. That fear was the motivator. Unfortunate! People are murdered, by not knowing who God really is. Blessings!

  • Why would your loving, forgiving god declare an "unforgivable sin (blaspheming the "holy spirit")? Hmmm? Make up your mind, your god is forgiving or He's not.

"He is walking alongside trying to show us the way" God has legs? Have you seen him walk?

What I "believe your god is" is based on the bible. I can read.

  • Jeremy, I'm not sure why blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is unforgivable. Do you? I never said I have all the answers. That would make me God. Wouldn't it? He forgives all sins "but one". Is your glass half empty or half full? Funny. "Walk alongside", metaphorically speaking (you knew that). It's good you can read. Reading and experiencing are two different concepts. Try experiencing.

  • The fact that there is an unforgivable sin in the bible shows that Yahweh is unforgiving. So why do Christians always say that He is forgiving? That's a contradiction.

I HEREBY DENY THE POWER AND EXISTENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. YAHWEH IS MAKE BELIEVE.

Now, I'm damned to hell and there can be no forgiveness for me, according to your stupid religion. Mass murderers have a greater chance of entering heaven than I.

  • Jeremy, Then you have made your choice. I've enjoyed conversing with you. My heart goes out to you. I will, regardless of your belief pray for you. Love and peace.

  • Why would you pray for me? I've committed the Unforgivable Sin. There's no hope for me now.

Somewhere in that brainwashed head of yours you know that this whole thing is absurd. There's no cosmic thug who heard me deny the holy ghost and now refuses to forgive me. There's no petty, ruthless tyrant who sends people to a lake of fire.

  • lol, at teaching evolution in church.

  • Lol at teaching creationism in science class.

  • Mike: "i believe we should expose students to all points of view..."

Does that include alchemy, astrology, and phrenology?????

Can anyone here give a single example of an idea that is taught in science class without the consensual agreement of the scientific community?

Suppose a group of people believed that objects fall down because invisible pixies pulled everything down, should that belief be taught along with gravity in the science classroom?

  • According to Mike, yes. But science isn't democratic, so luckily, none of that will be happening... hopefully...

  • No joke man, this is some scary shit. Hopefully McCain won't pick this idiot as his running mate.

  • gah he used to be fat

    Huckabee 2012!

  • Interesting dialogue, I think I'll sit this one out b/c you folks seem to have it covered.

  • What is Christianity and the Bible? Outside of being a religious faith it is History! The school system teaches the theory of evolution. Unless there is some sort of "fear factor" it is only right that the "History" (including the teachings of Jesus) of Christianity and the Bible be taught in school. Teachers are an authoritative figure in childrens lives. Because children are taught only about the theory of evolution they tend to sway in that direction, believing that is the only option.

  • Too true, too true. But don't worry. Despite the brainwashing effects of evolution, the powerful truth of Scripture can quickly UNbrainwash students very easily, because the teaching of creation just simply makes sense. Where as the teaching of evolution really doesn't make sense.

  • Yes,
