Hanafuda cards have always been this size. These cards are great quality and are definitely not a rip-off. They are not going to change the size of these cards after hundreds of years just to please you.
@Goomba4001 I'm not intending to be a troll. I only wanted to discus my opinion, not to offend you. If you have a problem with that, don't allow comments on your videos.
dude, they are for free. How the fuck could they be a rip off. Nintendo is paying us with gifts just to get our feed back on their games. Them getting our opinion on games that they make, benefits us already. They are outdoing themselves by offering gifts. ASS!!!!
@Goomba4001 I know its in the description and all but you have to accept the fact that you will continue to recieve those kinds of comments. What you have to do is make another video reviewing hanafuda cards, then take this video off, and upload the new one right away. I know you would lose all the views. but at least all the people that watch your video will like it and wont talk smack. ....... like me =]
LOL What Rip off !!! the hanafuda cards originally are in that Size ... how did they rip you off in any way ... at least they are giving us something back i have tons of Xbox360 and PS3 games that i payed over thousands and what did i get back ?
@Bader88 wow couldnt agree with you anymore this little kid is a spoiled brat. Just owing enough games to aquire that many points proves it. Snot nosed kid.
@ishirock1 I was playing along / making fun of trolls like anddog31 on this vid and gammer69 on my Fake Pokémon Card video. I was 12 or 13 when I recorded this, and I'm 14 now.
There are also many more games you can play with hanafuda cards. Google for "hanafuda kabufuda", and choose the first hit. That site has English explanation for 18 different games you can play.
Koi koi is not that confusing. When I teach someone the game I do a short explanation beforehand and start playing with very simplified rules. Then in a few rounds when they start to get it I spice things up with some more of the original rules. In about 6-8 rounds I teach them to play with the full set of combinations, and explanation is hardly necessary anymore.
@DrPhil009 I like Club Nintendo, I just think they're prices are way too high. Seriously, you have to pay 800 dollars worth of video games just to get some cards or a crappy DS game.
i just open the boxes of games they have on display at gamestop and take the code serial number thingys O_O and i got 800 points but dont know what i want :D
lolnice. :P Be careful doing that though, you can get in trouble if the employees see you. I would recommend getting these over the Game & Watch collection... unless you're planning on getting the smaller prizes...
Just play Hanafuda Flash on-line, and all will become clear. GameDesign's version is Koi Koi and it shows you what the yakus are and how to play. You will pick it up fast.
i guess there made by Japanese size of space standards, alot of products from japan made for the Japanese are compact and small to suit the smaller houses and apartments. basically a lot for a little, i got an import gbc game once and i still have the box which was roughly half the size of a standard american gbc/ gba game box, still they should have size comparison shots on club nintendo, after all we don't know how big it will be.
Actually, the points they're worth are about equal to their amount of dollars worth of games needed to get it. For example, the cards were worth about 800 dollars worth of video games. Etc...
Not quite. You needed to spend that much on video games to get the cards, and then you got your games for that money, and, as a bonus, you got those points. Then, those points got you the cards. So, the points are not worth that much...
Well I've been researching HanaFuda, and however you are correct with your summary. But I don't think the Hanafuda are a ripoff because it's like a collectors item. Not many people have them.
I really don't think that the picture is misleading, especially when considering they give you the exact dimensions. Furthermore, I doubt these cards are a ripoff, as they are intended to be a collectors item and what better Nintendo collectors item than Mario themed Hanafuda cards?
Yea I don't think you should be too upset with these cards because they are the same size as all their other hanafuda cards they have made. They made them about this size in the late 1800's too, so there not necessarily small, they're actually normal size
sorry. just sounded like you were really upset about getting them. but yah, at least i said something helpful. people who would be disappointed with the size, the dimensions are there.
also, if you look on eBay, there are traditional card with the exact dimensions as these. only the really good kind are larger, and they are more expensive. the point of sizing the cards down is to make them economical for everyone. if you can afford larger cards, than good. some people cant. its also more expensive for a company to make the larger cards compared to the larger ones. and like i said, they didn't hold out info from you. they give the exact dimensions.
first off, nintendo gives the dimensions of the product your getting. second, if you don't care about size get them. not everything has to be big to enjoy. third, if you want a good collectible, this is good, no matter how big it is. size does not matter. thats one of the problems with the world today. your all to focused on something being big in order to enjoy it. if you don't like their size you should have never got them. CHECK THE DIMENSIONS FIRST!!!
Eh? I don't hate them, I was just disappointed with the size. I didn't see the dimensions online, I must have missed them. I'm still glad I got them...
im thinking of getting the legend of zelda poster right as soon as i get enough points or should i save up for Hanafuda or game&watch collection plz someone awnser
Don't forget the original price of the game you had to get the serial numbers from. The prizes are all worth (in dollars) about the same amount of points they're worth.
dude unles you where just buying games to get nintedo coins that shouldent matter i mean think about it all you have to do is buy a game that you want plus with that game you have a chance to get free stuff
Is Luigi featured on any of the cards? I collect Luigi merchandise and if so, I would need that card for my collection. I have 2,000 coins but I am reluctant to redeem any unless I know there is at least one Luigi card. Thanks.
them "small cards" are what STARTED THE BEST THING ON THE PLANET! NINTENDO! WITHOUT IT, THERE WOULDN'T BE NINTENDO! wait, you think the game and watch colection is better?... wow...
WOW. thanks. heheh. They did look bigger on the internet. Sheesh. I really wanted these. Well. Im heading to platinum. I started fresh because i never joined club nintendo and i have a lot of games that was never registerd. Anything worth getting from Club nintendo? If not i will get the cards but only as a collection.
The Game and Watch Collection is too tied to current technology, when the DS dies like every other handheld system ever made, you re left with an unplayable game. The cards are a part of history and can sit next to my R.O.B.
yeah...all of the FREE stuff from Club Nintendo is SUCH a ripoff.
The hanafuda cards (from Japan, y'know, like where Nintendo originated(not China)) are worth so many coins because they're made from better materials than the other playing cards, and they're a piece of Nintendo history.
Here is my opinion these cards are better the game and watch game and watch is like reallly bad its like those burger king fotballl shit games ohh and guess waht it has 3 games WOW!! realllly COME ON !!! ......... trust me the games have really bad quality toooo..... and .... no words lol just ......ya
Great review, man. I don't think it's a rip-off; it's a novelty. Novelties are always expensive. It's one of those things that some people will like more than others. I only have 430 points right now, but I'm saving for the hanafuda cards.
Ya and the way I see it, I can get the game and watch collections on GBA so ill probably just go with either the Hanfuda or the original Super Mario Bros. Game Card Case
Well I did my research before I ordered anything but I did order these cards. The second I saw them I wanted them because it is apart of Nintendos history.
While I do admit that I was shocked aswell in the size of the cards. I do think in my opinion that the Game & Watch Gallery is a rip off. I got all of the G&W Gallery games for the GB, GBC, and GBA. I plan to keep my set of these cards sealed though. I only want it as a collectors thing.
This is actually NOT a rip off. If you do some research you will see that most Hanafuda cards are that size. The set of these are going for $40.00 on Ebay right now and if you wouldn't have broken the seal on them they could have been worth a lot more in up and coming days. Oh, be sure to find the rules for Koi Koi online. IT'S SO FUN. OH! And the Clubhouse Games DS game has the Koi Koi game on it. That's where I learned how to play.
1. Well, they looked bigger in the picture on the website. :P
2. The cards were worth 800 Club Nintendo coins, which is just about 800 bucks or so worth of video games. I never wanted to sell it, for only 50 or so bucks, and plus, I want to learn how to play Koi Koi anyway. ^_^
3. The cards came with instructions, but they were too confusing for me, and the same with the internet tuts. : \
Yes! Clubhouse Games DS is WAY fun. It has tons of different card/board/other games on it (i.e. Chess, Koi Koi, Old Maid, Poker, Checkers, Darts, Parcheesi, etc) I suggest getting that game and learning Koi Koi from that.
Since we shared a lot of the games we registered, we needed to share what we got through Club Nintendo, and he did NOT want to wait for anything better. Regardless, we are still getting our free Platinum Gift...
You need.

How insulting
Also you said 1800s, when you meant 1980s.
Also, it's not a ripoff since you got these for free.
It's obvious you dont respect the culture of japan and history of Nintendo and where it came from since you insulted these hanafuda cards.

Oh! And another way to do more research on things you are going to achieve or buy is to watch videos of whatever it is you want on Youtube.

4. Oh! That's cool. Is that game any good?

Yes! Clubhouse Games DS is WAY fun. It has tons of different card/board/other games on it (i.e. Chess, Koi Koi, Old Maid, Poker, Checkers, Darts, Parcheesi, etc) I suggest getting that game and learning Koi Koi from that.

I know. T_T
Since we shared a lot of the games we registered, we needed to share what we got through Club Nintendo, and he did NOT want to wait for anything better. Regardless, we are still getting our free Platinum Gift...
