Excellent . I made it , my wife was shocked ... she loved it , I truely surprised myself even lool , it came out great .. wallah it was delicous .. i added your video to my favorites , keep up the great work , happy holidays
malabar chicken biriyani cannot be made using Basmati rice. You need jeera Sala rice. No ifs or buts, Jeera sala rice. And when you add garam masala powder in rice the flavour of masala is lost as you are boiling the powder as is. Do not use masala, instead use whole cardmon (crushed), cinnamon (crushed), bay leaf, curry leaves.
i'm fasting and wow your biryani looks to die for..im getting my mom to make this tonight since its the 1st fast... Your video is the best cooking video online so simple and brilliantly instructed
I was a Chicken Biryani 'virgin' up until today..and I had decided to go for your recipe...Followed every step..And guess wat...It was friggin' delicious..Finger licking one....!!!!Thanks to your recipe..I feel like a Pro now...:-))
Hi....I always thgt that Malabar biryani would have either Coconut Paste or atleast milk.....Your receipe has neither......Will try this over the weekend....n post how it comes out!!!!
Major difference of Thalassery Biriyani / Malabar Biryani / Kozhikode Biriyani is the rice used for making it. ' Kayama' - a special variety of rice ( somebody call it as 'jeerakasaala' Rice or ' Kolam' Rice) with a peculiar good aroma is the secret of this Biriyani. Malppuram to Kasargod people use this variety of Rice. But from Thrissur to Trivandrum and in other part of the country people use ' Basmati' variety rice - a long variety rice.

Thank you so much for this delicious recipe... I made this today; although I did not have the pineapple essence and food color, still it tasted a million bucks.... My husband heaped praises on me but I never told him that it is because of you girls that I could do it, well that's our secret.... thank you once again....
pls inform the quantity of chicken to be used for 3 cups of basmati rice. Last time when i tried the biriyani was bit sour. what's to be done? However, i liked ur recipe; its easy to make.
couldn wait till i finish eating my biriyani.. thts why im posting this comment as i eat... huge success... i mean the best biriyani i could ever make.. and that too so so simple... thnx a lot... :)
Hi- Great video, which even a beginner can easily copy and surprise his family!!. The entire video was of appropriate length. Moreover, the narration made things simple and convincing, great voice as well. I thought it would have been more helpful if you explained the cooking of rice a little more, so it wont overcook, esp by amateurs like me. Thanks
thats good ,very simple ,,,,thanks

Hi lino..
sorry for the delayed reply.
You dont have to add pinapple essence. Its just an optional ingredient. In my place some people even add fresh pineapple chunks to thier biriyani.
