  • malabar chicken biriyani cannot be made using Basmati rice. You need jeera Sala rice. No ifs or buts, Jeera sala rice. And when you add garam masala powder in rice the flavour of masala is lost as you are boiling the powder as is. Do not use masala, instead use whole cardmon (crushed), cinnamon (crushed), bay leaf, curry leaves.

  • Hi....I always thgt that Malabar biryani would have either Coconut Paste or atleast milk.....Your receipe has neither......Will try this over the weekend....n post how it comes out!!!!

  • pls inform the quantity of chicken to be used for 3 cups of basmati rice. Last time when i tried the biriyani was bit sour. what's to be done? However, i liked ur recipe; its easy to make.

  • Hi- Great video, which even a beginner can easily copy and surprise his family!!. The entire video was of appropriate length. Moreover, the narration made things simple and convincing, great voice as well. I thought it would have been more helpful if you explained the cooking of rice a little more, so it wont overcook, esp by amateurs like me. Thanks

    sorry for the delayed reply.

    You dont have to add pinapple essence. Its just an optional ingredient. In my place some people even add fresh pineapple chunks to thier biriyani.
