  • thank you , u help me alot

  • hey thanks for the vid. does this method work for all types of dreads? i have free handed dreads ( "tear and rip") and does this also tighten the whole dread?

  • @evelynlikesfood hi. i'm not sure what the tear and rip method is so i can't really answer. i tried looking it up, but wasn't too successful finding any results. sorry.

  • I have been using a crochet needle, about average size to latch my locs. It's been working very well. I use Cactus/mangolime at the root to catch all the strat hairs.

  • hi where and how do u get the nappy locks tools

  • you can google nappylocs tool. i think the website is happytobenappyDOTcom, but i'm not sure.

  • for my latchhook, i just used a jumbo paper clip and twisted it, then wrapped it with plumber's tape. Not to knock the purchase method, but my approach to locks is to be as natural as possible. Just wanted to let someone know how to save a few dollars.

    - I feel pride in having fashioned my own tool to care for my locks.

  • good for you! i've said before in other videos that there are other ways to make latching tools youself and save a buck. MsButterfli, Meil001, and Pinky2d4 have all done videos on ways to make homemade tools.

  • thank u thank u sooo much i wondered how that would work with latching and having the fuzzies

  • thanks sexy lilly beautiful healthy dreads womon ya rasta boy gerry760

  • Thanks for the video. It was really understandable and helpful. I definitely think I will do this when my hair is longer. Is it possible to bring the hair through the loc further down the length or is it too dense to penetrate? Your hair looks great.

  • it depends on the loc. on some of my locs i can do that, on some i can't. the latched part is definately denser than the palmrolled part, so i can't get the latch through there, but thats just me.

  • let me get your opinion: do you think latch hooking baby locs would work...

  • oh definately! a lot of people start their locks with latching or some other form of interlockng because it makes the lock so secure and keeps it from unraveling.

  • hey whats up i latch my hair too but i do is i twist those extra hairs around first i then i latch them and they turn great you should try that but your looks wonderful

  • thnaks! i do that sometimes, too. but when i do that, i use my nappylocs tool.

  • Thanks for this vid. I have a lot of stray hairs and usually just wind up waiting until they're long enough to make another lock. Next time I'll try this instead.

  • your locks look really cool, look like thick ropes i love that

  • Peace and blessings to you Sista. Thank you for this video. I am really grateful!

  • you're welcome! i'm glad you liked it!

  • Wow do you have a tongue piercing? Did it hurt?

  • the first time i pierced it, it didn't really hurt but my tongue swelled up soooo huge! it was a bit scary. then i had my tonsils taken out and i had to remove the ring for the surgery and the hole closed so i had it re-pierced and that hurt like hell! but no swelling the second time.

  • is it possible to latch starter lock twists, or will my ends not lock up that way?

  • yes. nubianlockedprincess has a video all about how to start locks with the nappylos tool. check out her channel.

  • latch hooks seem like so much more trouble than theyre worth, why not just use a crochet hook?

  • i've tried a crochet hook and have had no success with it. you should do a vid on how its done. i know a lot of people are interested.

  • Bah humbug! You're too cute :)

  • love you, sis. ((sticking out tongue!))

  • cool sis but um i dont know how to make them cause money is scarse right now so plz help me out i hate not having one of those my hair is cool and all but im slowly regreting it.DREADLOCKERS UNITE!

  • you don't make these. you buy them at the craft store or at a beauty supply store. they only cost a few bucks. definately under 5 dollars. you can make other types of latching tool and there are videos on here about that. one is by msbutterfli. she made a latching tool out of a paperclip. look up her vid. you may find it helpful.

  • question...have you ever used a crochet hook to incorporate stray hairs? i find that easier. i have alot of stray hairs which is frizzy and i need help on how to incorporate the the loose hairs into my dread. however i basically use a latch hook to latch my new growth.

  • i tried a crochet hook once. it was a painfuul and useless experience. even worse than the latch hook. however, i have seen a vid on here of a woman using a crochet hook to "de-frizz" a loc and it was amazing! she was going so fast her fingers were blurring and the loc looked soooooooooo nice afterwards. but i persoanlly don't know anything about the method on how to do this. if you figure it out, let me know!

  • do you know what video it was? i would like to see it

  • ok. i look and looked and looked and i couldn't find it! kutielocs has an example of the end look on her vlog4 and 7 vids. i could have sworn that pheonixfire did the vid, but i didn't find it on her channel. oh well. i'll keep on looking and i'll send it to you if i find it. sorry!

  • lol aight...thanks for the help
