I don't get why people think these guys are similar to QOTSA. I mean I guess there are vague genre similarities but these guys are so experimental and they make more than a sound, they produce a vibe or a feeling. I'll stick with Kyuss over QOSTA any day.

@skydog69zoso I don't know about that, but there were definitely some more beautiful songs for Kyuss than Queens. Queens is more focused on the riff while Kyuss was focused on beauty and power. Kyuss was fucking rocking, just for the sake of fucking rocking. Queens is for the sake of good song writing.
@JefferstChmilst I totally agree- I would never doubt Josh's development as a musician over time, its just different mindsets from then vs now I think...search Desert Roll, tell me if that ain't some sweet recent shit from the JH...I am a huge supporter of both bands, and I like them for different reasons- the majesty and beast mode power of Kyuss, and the careful, beautiful balance and rock articulacy that is Queens.
@skydog69zoso I disagree. But I can see what would make you think that. Queens is all about being badass and good songwriting, but Kyuss was about beauty and power. I get to see what's left of them on saturday. Cheers
Oh God, this is the heart of Kyuss at their most vulnerable and also powerful... Who could possibly dislike THIS? It makes no sense. Thanks to the uploader, damn, I took a trip listening to this brother, back to a decade... thanks so much.
Hey everyone, can you take two minutes and watch the video on my channel to help me out. Not spam. It's Kyuss related of course. Just an idea I had. Let me what you think of it. Thanks.
Kyuss can be put into the genre of stoner rock or desert rock. Stoner rock gives an unfair image of them. While many who listened to Kyuss were/are stoners (was one myself) their music is not focused around Weed. To me and most ppl Kyuss's music is about enjoying life and being young. Chilling out with friends, on top of a mountain with your own thoughts, racing thru the long desert roads. ahh yha!
woh awesome track. I like to read the comment of hyetrwes . I feel a bit similar. I´m 16 now and my live is going to change. It`s my last year in school, so im surching for a job i really like to do. I´m not sure, if my friends are already my friends in probably 15 years. Will I sit in 15 years next to my friends, and are we still listen to Kyuss? I´m not sure about that. It´s a feeling of uncertainty..
@EndofParadise I wish you all the best for your future my friend. One thing's for certain... you WILL be listening to Kyuss in 15 years time... trust me.
ehh damn... i mean there are barriers in our society... there is so much ignorance in what people are listening too, but when music is real from the heart is doesn't matter. composition, melody are the greatest aspects of kyuss
This music brings tears to the eyes. The greatest music ever created IMHO. Nothing beats taking that last bowl hit and then hitting play and hearing the most unbelievable bass just melt your face off
Welcome Demoncleaner666. Were you an abused child. Better late than never. Sit back and enjoy. Possibly the best band that most people have NEVER heard of.
btw. putting tracks on repeat, works wonders with many Kyuss (or stoner rock) tracks...they do/did it themselves to "get into it". You have to feel the music, and then you will see and be inspired... Just a recommendation...
Does parallel universes really exists...? I once put this track on repeat a whole day, while doing my chores, studying, etc.. I was in another world. And It was a massive beautiful one... if one can jump dimensions, Kyuss somehow knew how to handle the machinery.
Fuck , I could write a book about where Kyuss take me too every time I hear them! I'm mid 30's now, makes me realize I was cool once, driving old cars, going to gigs, chasing waves, old girl friends gone but never forgotten, Kyuss was there through the best times of my life from Wretch to And the circus leaves town. And then there's Sky Valley, what an album, something that can never be repeated, a band and an era of music we will never have again!!
@hyetrwes Yep - but me and my man superscoop are catching Kyuss at Rock City Nottingham end of this month and hoping they come along to Donington or Sonisphere. Down are playing Donington so that's something at least. With Nola and Welcome to Sky Valley together they were a few good years and not bettered since. Happy days to be re-lived!!!!!!!
@hyetrwes Mate - check out my profile - just uploaded something from last night. My phone is poor but you'll get the feel of it. Good luck in May (they did't play Gardinia(?))
@hyetrwes Dude, I've just recovered my YT account after 6 years just to response to your message. You are telling my life right now. Sometimes I'm in my Toyota Corona '82 listening to "The Big K" here in Argentina and feel like I have total control over my mind. Or the girlfriends... Every girl I know, every girl I introduce into Kyuss world. Sometimes they like, sometimes they don't, but I'm always "The Kyuss guy" they had as boyfriend. I don't know, man. You rock.

I think cannabis plants would have been fitting on a video about the phototropic response. Having said that any plant will do the job.
p.s. Weed is cool! ............for adults. Stay away from drugs children, especially drugs created by mega-corporations i.e; alcohol and cigarettes. Although (contradicting ones self) everything is fine in moderation (for adults 18+)

@foogrrrl There is a much higher probability that adults understand the consequences.
Also, technically we are not allowed to use them.
We are just willing to take the chance and many of us are willing to suffer the consequences for the benefit to experience things from different angles.
Chilling out with friends, on top of a mountain with your own thoughts, racing thru the long desert roads and finally, Fuck it... Smoking a big spliff with good mates and sitting back feeling that fucking bass!!
Yeah I agree with you. As a user of cannabis recreationaly, and dare I say it medicinaly, I feel the need to defend it from unwarranted attacks. As an ex-smoker you know it's not what people make it out to be. The cannabis plant is THE most usefull plant on this planet and was for centuries until these new 'enlightened' times we live in.
Does anyone know other bands/songs that are similar to Space Cadet, Phototropic or Supa scoopa and mighty scoop? Music for sitting back feeling that fucking bass, as you said.
nah it sounds like this even on the cd, i don't know why, well it's alittle better on the cd but still the singing sounds the same. sounds fucking awesome though.
QOTSA is excellent too. but Kyuss defines one Genre: STONER. QOTSA defines a new style of rock, its unique. both are excellent in its own ways

@foogrrrl There is a much higher probability that adults understand the consequences.
Also, technically we are not allowed to use them.
We are just willing to take the chance and many of us are willing to suffer the consequences for the benefit to experience things from different angles.

Music for sitting back feeling that fucking bass, as you said.

the lyrics make me think this song is about a spiritual struggle.
kinda like a plant reaching for a light it has never seen.

This song is a real brain scratchier, like most of their music.
Kyuss, of all the bands I know created energy with their music that is both unknown but warm and charismatic.

one of the best songs by Kyuss
