  • QOTSA is excellent too. but Kyuss defines one Genre: STONER. QOTSA defines a new style of rock, its unique. both are excellent in its own ways

  • I don't get why people think these guys are similar to QOTSA. I mean I guess there are vague genre similarities but these guys are so experimental and they make more than a sound, they produce a vibe or a feeling. I'll stick with Kyuss over QOSTA any day.

  • Causa Sui were influenced by this track...

  • 546motherfuckers most kill 7motherfuckers !

  • after Demon Cleaner, my favourite Kyuss song.

  • we need some photropic around the globe

  • Really great video to go with this atmospheric classic.

    Nice one!

  • it may not be flashy....but it damn well works

  • I just bought this album last week! I feel happy about myself now, supporting kyuss like that! \m/

  • @mlgcreaturecats damn strait. and your lucky to have it too. they discontinued all their albums last April :'(

  • this is beautiful

  • Good guy nice video!

    one of kyuss best songs

i always play it with my guitar in front of my fascinated little three sons

    Brian Josh (!) Liam

  • it's all about the Bass

  • Whenever anyone asks me what band I'd recommend they have never heard of, I always say Kyuss, and without exception, everyone becomes converted.

  • is it normal that i want to roll a joint everytime i listen to this?^^

  • @Itstimetosmokepot Perfectly normal.

  • I hope they play this song tonight D:

  • Great Pics and great song (of a great band).

    Congratulations!

  • LSD :)

  • Kyuss Lives!: December 3rd in Detroit will be my first concert ever. Dear god I hope they play this.

  • How is this not more popular?? This is unreal music-from Kyuss to QTSA...AWESOME!!!!!!

  • Josh Holmes is really something else damn that guitar is so nice.... silly singer covering it with words...

  • @adrianmarcais ur fucked up

  • i love this music guys...

i love u for keeping this alive

i love the fact that this music helps me trough a another crappy day with the same old shit....

  • How stoned do you have to be to write a song about phototropism by plants... I LOVE KYUSS

  • beauTifuL video song takes me to that place out of time rock ooon !!!!! kyuss livessss

  • so awesome I love it when the bassy distortion kicks in like breaking some wall

  • god, i have goosebumps when listening to kyuss

  • @Levente20 same here, I haven't listened to them in a while (stupid me), but when I do sometimes I get this "BEST BAND EVER!!" feeling.

  • I bet Kyuss will reunite completely in 2012... I mean, c'mon, 3 of 4 already came together caling themselves 'Kyuss lives!' and touring around... concerts sold out; I'll go to Dortmund on 3rd of August 2011 !!! If this tour get the success they deserve, it will be too attractive for Josh Homme to not make the reunion perfect...

  • @HispanicImpression Kyuss in the new FZW tonite? So see ya around.... Ich freu mich wie bekloppt! ;)

  • Who else wished they were able to smoke this song

  • Cool video, amazing song. I don't need substances to go on trips as long as music like this exists.

  • songs like this are the reason why i think josh homme was SO much better musician in kyuss than in queens of the stone age

  • @skydog69zoso True.

  • Comment removed

  • @skydog69zoso I don't know about that, but there were definitely some more beautiful songs for Kyuss than Queens. Queens is more focused on the riff while Kyuss was focused on beauty and power. Kyuss was fucking rocking, just for the sake of fucking rocking. Queens is for the sake of good song writing.

  • @JefferstChmilst I totally agree- I would never doubt Josh's development as a musician over time, its just different mindsets from then vs now I think...search Desert Roll, tell me if that ain't some sweet recent shit from the JH...I am a huge supporter of both bands, and I like them for different reasons- the majesty and beast mode power of Kyuss, and the careful, beautiful balance and rock articulacy that is Queens.

  • @skydog69zoso I disagree. But I can see what would make you think that. Queens is all about being badass and good songwriting, but Kyuss was about beauty and power. I get to see what's left of them on saturday. Cheers

  • @skydog69zoso Shit just realized I replied to you on the same thing a while back. Wow I am STONED. Sorry man

  • @skydog69zoso Completely agree, it's gotten to the point where I'll listen to Queens and wonder, why am I not listening to Kyuss?

  • This track is KILLER! Kyuss kicks ass!!

  • El sonido de Kyuss es de otro planeta, que buenas canciones, lo mejooor!!!!

  • Nice job, mate..Me and my pot agree...Thumbs up or whaaatherverrr

  • Dude, great video really..I remember back in the infancy of the interweb, when you couldnt find a blip of info on kyuss..thank you uloaders!

  • Oh God, this is the heart of Kyuss at their most vulnerable and also powerful... Who could possibly dislike THIS? It makes no sense. Thanks to the uploader, damn, I took a trip listening to this brother, back to a decade... thanks so much.

  • hey your video is cool! ;)

  • .......................................

  • This... is... Epic!....

  • 4 deaf people didn't like the images of the video.

  • wankbots

  • This is the kind of song I would happily die listening to.

  • @AlreadyEddie nope.. i want to live to listen to it another time.. and another....

  • Kyuss can be put into the genre of stoner rock or desert rock. Stoner rock gives an unfair image of them. While many who listened to Kyuss were/are stoners (was one myself) their music is not focused around Weed. To me and most ppl Kyuss's music is about enjoying life and being young. Chilling out with friends, on top of a mountain with your own thoughts, racing thru the long desert roads. ahh yha!

  • woh awesome track. I like to read the comment of hyetrwes . I feel a bit similar. I´m 16 now and my live is going to change. It`s my last year in school, so im surching for a job i really like to do. I´m not sure, if my friends are already my friends in probably 15 years. Will I sit in 15 years next to my friends, and are we still listen to Kyuss? I´m not sure about that. It´s a feeling of uncertainty..

  • @EndofParadise I wish you all the best for your future my friend. One thing's for certain... you WILL be listening to Kyuss in 15 years time... trust me.

  • THX John, and THX 4 commin Back.....:-)

  • MY LIFE LIVES HERE.

    SO BEAUTIFUL.

    SO KYUSS.

    PEACE.

    I AM STUDYING ART

  • DESERT BUTTONS

  • PAIDOLDA

  • ehh damn... i mean there are barriers in our society... there is so much ignorance in what people are listening too, but when music is real from the heart is doesn't matter. composition, melody are the greatest aspects of kyuss

  • This music brings tears to the eyes. The greatest music ever created IMHO. Nothing beats taking that last bowl hit and then hitting play and hearing the most unbelievable bass just melt your face off

  • Welcome Demoncleaner666. Were you an abused child. Better late than never. Sit back and enjoy. Possibly the best band that most people have NEVER heard of.

  • btw. putting tracks on repeat, works wonders with many Kyuss (or stoner rock) tracks...they do/did it themselves to "get into it". You have to feel the music, and then you will see and be inspired... Just a recommendation...

  • Does parallel universes really exists...? I once put this track on repeat a whole day, while doing my chores, studying, etc.. I was in another world. And It was a massive beautiful one... if one can jump dimensions, Kyuss somehow knew how to handle the machinery.

  • This song defines KYUSS to me

  • period!

  • The Mighty Kyuss!!!!!!!

  • WOOOOOOoooooommmmmmm and now I'm high :)

  • Fuck your 2 dislikes

  • @Bleepbloopd 2 stoned guys presses dislike instead of like..happens a lot:P

    what a genius band,every song

  • Brilliant, amazing, pure rock energy!!!

  • Great Band.

  • UNDAAAAAAAAAAAAAA LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT

  • Fuck , I could write a book about where Kyuss take me too every time I hear them! I'm mid 30's now, makes me realize I was cool once, driving old cars, going to gigs, chasing waves, old girl friends gone but never forgotten, Kyuss was there through the best times of my life from Wretch to And the circus leaves town. And then there's Sky Valley, what an album, something that can never be repeated, a band and an era of music we will never have again!!

  • @hyetrwes An era which i and many people like myself have missed and will never experience first hand.

It is a shame but im so greatful i can still hear this music now.

Truly beautiful and great to listen to and chill out with.. Woooo! Kyuss! :D

  • @hyetrwes Im feeling ur comment with this song!!

  • @hyetrwes Yep - but me and my man superscoop are catching Kyuss at Rock City Nottingham end of this month and hoping they come along to Donington or Sonisphere. Down are playing Donington so that's something at least. With Nola and Welcome to Sky Valley together they were a few good years and not bettered since. Happy days to be re-lived!!!!!!!

  • @t2mimeticpolyalloy Bro, miracles do happen, down under in May - stoked! Enjoy the show my friend!

  • @hyetrwes Mate - check out my profile - just uploaded something from last night. My phone is poor but you'll get the feel of it. Good luck in May (they did't play Gardinia(?))

  • @hyetrwes Dude, I've just recovered my YT account after 6 years just to response to your message. You are telling my life right now. Sometimes I'm in my Toyota Corona '82 listening to "The Big K" here in Argentina and feel like I have total control over my mind. Or the girlfriends... Every girl I know, every girl I introduce into Kyuss world. Sometimes they like, sometimes they don't, but I'm always "The Kyuss guy" they had as boyfriend. I don't know, man. You rock.

  • @hyetrwes

great comment - same feelings here.

  • @hyetrwes damn stright.

  • @hyetrwes .....yeah man ,same feelings here.....

  • @hyetrwes .....please tell me you have heard Colour Haze?

  • @hyetrwes would love to thumbs up in agreement but dont wanna ruin your 69

  • @hyetrwes I can't imagine better words.

  • @hyetrwes I feel with you bro.

  • @hyetrwes u gave me goosebumps, long live rock and roll

  • @hyetrwes Amen! Very well chosen words friend....

  • |-)

  • If I was in a hospital bed and had only six more minutes to live I'd spend the time listening to this song.

  • I love instrumental jams and this is just too good to be real! :D

  • espectacular !!

  • @MarshallRoberts. I would have absolutely no problem with an 8-minute cut of Phototropic.

  • This song is magic! It really takes me back and makes me reflect.

  • Best Vid onWhotoob

  • @EPICichiban there's a vid from 50 million year trip and it kicks ass aswell!

  • This song's been cooking for centuries... completely monolithic

  • Great !

  • absolutly fucken narly excuse mah bad grammer

  • Does anyone know what effects Josh is using for the intro part? Sounds very nice...

  • @w35m4n

Slight distortion, tremolo and a little chorus... I think

Then it's just fuzz, heavy distortion and tequila ;)

  • @w35m4n could be wah wah

  • Mother Nature's Rockers

  • that bass line... is fkn mighty o,o

    i cant stop moving

  • @Drunkenher0 you rule!

  • if u have to ask that foo u deffo need to stay away from em, brains damaged enough by the sounds of it

  • Turn up the bass on your player and get washed away.

    Thanks for the video!

  • Shit, Scott Reeder is awesome *_*

  • Such a beautiful song. Kyuss is THE band to jam to.

  • Nice video!

  • only thing this video is missing is weed plants!

  • @Necromandus666

no,that´s stuid.onl< because your a weed smoker you don´t need weed in every video, only small teenagers think it´s cool, cause it´s special to ém

  • I think cannabis plants would have been fitting on a video about the phototropic response. Having said that any plant will do the job.

p.s. Weed is cool! ............for adults. Stay away from drugs children, especially drugs created by mega-corporations i.e; alcohol and cigarettes. Although (contradicting ones self) everything is fine in moderation (for adults 18+)

  • why is it okay for adults, and for th youth not?

  • Because I can't be seen to advocate drug use for people under the age of 18. lol Basicaly the only problem with weed is it can trigger underlying mental health isssues in some people. The rule here is if you ever experience really bad paranoia, things like that don't smoke it or cut down your consumption. It's safer to smoke than tobacco by far, safer than alcohol, ecstacv, cocaine, heroin, lsd, mushrooms, crack, crystal meth, sniffing glue, painkillers, caffeine, fast food, GM crops, etc

  • fast food is pure evil!!!

  • cuz youth are still in brain and body development and using drugs disturbs that

  • @foogrrrl There is a much higher probability that adults understand the consequences.

Also, technically we are not allowed to use them.

We are just willing to take the chance and many of us are willing to suffer the consequences for the benefit to experience things from different angles.

Chilling out with friends, on top of a mountain with your own thoughts, racing thru the long desert roads and finally, Fuck it... Smoking a big spliff with good mates and sitting back feeling that fucking bass!!

  • Yeah I agree with you. As a user of cannabis recreationaly, and dare I say it medicinaly, I feel the need to defend it from unwarranted attacks. As an ex-smoker you know it's not what people make it out to be. The cannabis plant is THE most usefull plant on this planet and was for centuries until these new 'enlightened' times we live in.

  • hahahaha yeah "enlightened"

  • fuckyeh man, kyusss is kick ass im 15 and i know what you mean more than you know

  • @Drunkenher0 fuck yeah man

  • @Drunkenher0>Kyuss+memories= >you obviously have yours so will everybody else . But one thing's for sure> i'd rather have mine :)

  • @Drunkenher0

Does anyone know other bands/songs that are similar to Space Cadet, Phototropic or Supa scoopa and mighty scoop? Music for sitting back feeling that fucking bass, as you said.

  • @Drunkenher0 get a life fucker insted of taking your moms pussy hair and smoking it.

  • @FreedomFighterUK could n't agree more...

  • amazing videoo!!!!

  • Kyuss are just awesome!!!

I love this video and i love the music..!

    Great!!!

  • damn good job my friend. they will always be my favorite band.

  • the bass line is just killer.

  • The people downstairs just told me so!

  • Awsome :D but is it me or we cant hear the singer.. is this a demo?

  • nah it sounds like this even on the cd, i don't know why, well it's alittle better on the cd but still the singing sounds the same. sounds fucking awesome though.

  • holy shit man ur photos fit exactly with the purpose of the lyrics, I loved it.

  • great work, mate.

  • before the queens were kyuss!

  • I thought it was just the guitarist was from Kyuss?

  • Pffft. More like after Kyuss there were the queens.

  • the lyrics make me think this song is about a spiritual struggle.

kinda like a plant reaching for a light it has never seen.

  • This song is a real brain scratchier, like most of their music.

Kyuss, of all the bands I know created energy with their music that is both unknown but warm and charismatic.

  • one of the best songs by Kyuss

  • Scott Reeder is truely fucking amazing.

  • KYUSS ... this is definitely a song too take a tripp on, Zoomer's or Acid somethin' Physchedelic fuck yea \\//
