I got trained to never turn with an elevated load, but like some people said. It needs to be done sometimes! I always drive with the reach out too whenever possible, the truck feels more stable!
i`m also driving jungheinrich, and i alwayes turn with the load in the air, because too many people is drivin around and you need to do this, because I work in piecework, with heavier pallets (1000 kg) its eaiser to turn in air. sorry for my english ;]
it all depends on what ur loading, light weight repack boxes u can turn with the load in the air, but if ur putting up a pallet of 5g paint buckets then deff not, no matter how many times u shrink wrap the pallet its noot safe, it all depends where u work, some companies are more strict about safety policies, as u can see in this vid, people walking in the area that the truck is being worked with, where i work u have to close the isle ur working on and the next isle
i work on these in a freezer chamber (-25c) only ours is encased with glass windows, technically you're NEVER supposed to turn with a raised load as the pivot of weight is on the load but in a narrow lane with these loaded u kinda have to..
i turn with a load up in the air all the time cause the ailes are too narrow.....so for those who are arguing just drop it sometimes i needs to be done that way......
im doing it now the test well i failed it last week because the course is ment to be 5 days but we only get 4hours each which means we are only doing it for 1 day and a half its so hard i cant get use to the steering lol
@ITsHardstyle i turn my reach truck with load in the air while havving my forks reachrd out. i dont tip over. it is like a forklift . i hate the reaching in reaching out al the goddamn time
@ITsHardstyle no, in fact a reach truck will have the same stability with a load in the air turning as well as driving straight. Also as the load is raised the trucks maximum speed is decreased, therefore making tipping over extremely difficult
He is doin' it too slow. He's got a plenty of room and he should got the load rised when his going forwards (or backwards for someone).

I don't understand why cannot turn with load in the air?
Danny19921125 2 years ago
its all about stabilty if you turn with a load raised , it makes the truck unstable and could topple over!
chazapro666 2 years ago 2
@Danny19921125 because it SWINGS.. IT's an automatical fail.
Valcone89 1 year ago
@Danny19921125 because center of gravity is high which makes truck more unstable.btw hes not learning hes too confident
