Yes, humans are animals. But it's an insult to non-human animals to put ourselves in the same category. Animals do not kill for the thrill of it, and they don't kill to have money to buy cars or live in nice homes. They'll kill when they feel threatened or if they need to eat.
Actually some animals do kill for fun. Some elephants have been seen killing rhinos for the hell of it. Dolphins kill porpouses for no reason at all. Chimps have done the same to other chimps.

Yes, humans are animals. But it's an insult to non-human animals to put ourselves in the same category. Animals do not kill for the thrill of it, and they don't kill to have money to buy cars or live in nice homes. They'll kill when they feel threatened or if they need to eat.

Actually some animals do kill for fun. Some elephants have been seen killing rhinos for the hell of it. Dolphins kill porpouses for no reason at all. Chimps have done the same to other chimps.

Well that might be true. On the other hand, we can't necessarily get inside an animals head and understand. I do think it's safe to say, as a rule of thumb, that animals don't kill simply because they enjoy seeing the suffering of other sentient beings.
