Boys from my home town of Weston-super -mare,i was a lad of 18 working in Ashcombe road garage when in walk the lead singer in a full length afgan coat.what memories!! take me back please
I love this song, it's on my list of all time favourites. It's boppy, makes you smile, gets you singing along, it ticks all the boxes in my opinion :-)
What a revelation to find this on youtube whilst discovering my happy days as a teenager growing up in the 70's. I was 14 @1978, OMG what happy days and fond memories of late nights, kiss chase, building go carts etc... no worries, unlike the stresses of today. Listen, enjoy and Reminisce
What a great song. As Jessie J sings ïts not anout low blows or video hoe,s .... no this is just selling a song on its merit...not trying to get a dopamine hit from anything other than joy.
@M2B1B2 - me too, 6 yrs old at the time, and it just popped into my head. I'm very open minded about music but this works like torture on my brain, nothing I can do about that. Though I do admire them for being a band that seems to consist entirely of zany uncles.
year 7, 1979 woodlawn college. the first tidal wave hit that introduced me to pop music. heard it first on a poxy little radio in the main quadrangle, but it couldve been a full live concert. great stuff.
@jduk2011 You decide he is a poser just by watching him on one video you couldn't be further from the truth he is one of the nicest guys that I have ever been lucky enough to meet...!!!
Why do people who don't appreciate this come here to post acid comments? There's only one test of music and that is do you like it. Doesn't matter whether it's rap, hip-hop, punk, bubblegum pop, glam pop, rock, disco, heavy metal or anything else. This was one of the more enjoyable songs of it's type. I wouldn't call it a classic but there's a place for all types of music. But there's no place for small-minded cretins who think "their" type of music is the only one worth listening to.
@Gyphia Oh dear, you poor deluded thing. This is actually an internet forum. You seem to be under the misapprehension that we're at a multi-staged outdoor gig. Now, look at your hands. You're not surrounded by 150 of like-minded peers, are you? They're not being used to send blow kisses at Phil Fursdon, are they? Most likely, they're about to hit the keyboard with a witty and/or trying comeback. (Please let it be witty)
@hernhillrebel They may not have been playing and dancing together on this video but I bet they could do both. The steps they are doing are simular to the kind of dance steps that Hank Marvin & The Shadows used to do whilst playing - live on stage. - They all came from an era of "Entertainers and Performers" unlike most modern acts - all too corporate run now.
richardia, it's clear to me that you have no taste in music, this song reached No:1 in 1979. You're probably into hip-hop (noise pollution) stick to it.
that was freakin great. just goes to show some of the simplest tunes are the best. just love the happy energy. the film clip would be cheap by todays standards but i think the older film clips were better than the modern stuff with stupid homies sleazing up to poles and kanye gooses in expensive cars.
i don`t give a monkeys about the silly comments..... In it`s day this tune was the mutts nuts and thank **** i was there, what a freekin tune!!!!! I`m playing this video to death, i love it, thanks for loading. The 70`s being Chuck Norris? Oh yes indeedee :)

@Gyphia not too sure about that on account of my only being as kid in the seventies , grandma. compared to someone like Marc Bolan or bowie they were sly stallones.
well after reading some of the aforementioned comments on this page and having given this some serious consideration heres my honest opinion IT WAS GOOD AND IT REMINDED ME OF WHEN I WAS AT THAT AGE AND BY FUCK WE KNEW HOW TO ENJOY OURSELVES WITHOUT STABBING SOME POOR WEE FUCKER TO DEATH NOT LIKE SOME OF THE TEENS THESE DAYS(and i quote some of the teens these days)no respect or manners and some (some)of us are parents to them.sorry going on a wee bit there .great days the old GLAM ROCK days eh?

aha! - This is going back some - my mum used to go out with Phil from Racey back in her early teens before she met my father. She grew up in Taunton, Somerset where Phil came from.
She'd be embarrassed to read this but probably not as much as Phil! lol
My girlfriend at this time was in love with the guitarist, the one in the white shirt...I pretended I hated racey, but it was good old knockabout Pop music and I loved it really. Hehehe...
