It also really needs to be stressed that people's homes are not at risk of being squatted when they go on holiday, for example.
You might have noticed that the media are beginning to push the idea that people's fully-furnished homes might be squatted while they are out or away, which is utterly ridiculous, but this fear factor could be what leads to changes in the law.

I think itwould be useful to point out to people watching this who don't know about squatting, that a large proportion of London squatters do not live in houses, but in industrial-type buildings like those shown in this video - warehouses, old empty office buildings, etc.
Also, 'opening a house' doesn't mean breaking into someone's home - it just refers to starting a new squat, whatever type of building that might be in...
