He actually said in an interview that he'd read or heard that people call him fat and he just didn't understand why and said something about him having a big head but not being fat and I agree :-) . Also, even though his druming is uneven I've been listening to Metallica covers and I haven't found anyone playing the songs as well, ie it just doesn't sound right. Wrong tempo and making it easier. I still prefer the original.

Their shittiest album was indisputably Load.

For me Death Magnetic ranks third from the bottom, with Load and Reload below it. It wasn't THAT bad, it was just "meh." I see what they did with the whole album theme and also that the album was a sum up of their entire career, holding musical elements from every one of their albums.

Even if Death Magnetic was the worst, I wouldn't blame Rob for that, I'd blame James - the lyrics shape the song.

@bannanatree Definitely. It makes me sad to listen to some of their newer stuff. I went to a concert in 2008, I think I was about 12. St. Anger & Death Magnetic were basically the only two albums I knew from Metallica (aside from the song One, which I learned from Guitar Hero lol). I think most of their fans these days are a bunch of 12-year-olds who still haven't discovered their music.
