  • Roland Cube 40XL is superior.

  • Just purchased this amp tonight and I love it.

  • are you able to put distorion / overdrive on to a clean amp sound?

  • @jonahmoffatt yes ! :)

  • Not quite sure why he needed to point to the knobs and tell us what they were called, when they clearly had the names written above them? But an overall good review

  • my advice is dont buy a marshall mg because their made in india from dangerous materials such as lead and asbestos this peavey is a much better amp anyway and wont give u lung cancer

  • @shredmaster100 their = possessive adjective, they're = they are. Would you kindly learn that shit, please?

  • i aint fooling when i say i got no schooling qoute from rory gallagher and in my case quite true quit school when i was 14

  • @shredmaster100 - this simply isn't true. The UK and US have strict import regulations for products containing hazardous substances. The UK in particular is very strict this is why (for example) a UK Fender Deluxe Reverb has a different tremolo circuit to a US one - it contains what are deemed to be Hazardous substances.

  • the funny thing is i bought a brass slide today from my local music store and on the back of the packaging it says this product contains a chemical known to the state of california to cause cancer how can they get away with selling that and its a dunlop made slide just to warn everyone dont buy it get a plastic slide instead safer because it dont have this chemical on it

  • @shredmaster100 and what is that "chemical"?? Copper! A constituent component of Brass. The same thing that makes up the pipes that delivers your water. Big difference between copper and asbestos me thinks.

  • ive heard of copper poisoning but didnt know it could give someone cancer and ive got plastic pipes in the uk lol

  • Can anyone help me... I just got this amp and I'm not used to it, but I feel like I can't find a clean distortion...any help??

  • @GenNarwhal

what kind of distortion are you looking for

more fuzz like a classic rock or like heavy metal distortion

IDK about the classic but for metal I use the recto amp model and put the pre and post gain both a little past 9

also boost all the eq's, not all the way up but past 12 and depending on whether you are playing with others maybe scoop the mids a bit

  • @msfattytroll

i meant pre and post gain a little past 3 o'clock

  • its amazing starter amp. but the "metal Chanels are very very loud even if you lower the volume.

  • I can't choose which one to buy. I'm between this and Line 6 Spider IV 30W.

  • @ObsessedGeorge i am as well, except i also cant choose between these and the Marshall MG30CFX

  • @speedstealer14 I didn't like the Marshall MG30FX cause it doesn't have channels for saving your settings. I bought the Line 6 this past week. I'm still waiting for it to arrive from Germany!

  • @ObsessedGeorge

    this one dude

i have this got it last week

its all youl ever need, the overall tone of the spider isnt great , this ones is ! :)

  • I have an older Jap Telecaster, a Gibson SG-1 and a Fender Twin Reverb amp. I am considering buying one of these suckers just to figure out what sounds i lean more toward, in the area of amps and FX pedals

  • buying one today :D

  • hey do you know what settings to use for the ocean by led zeppelin?

  • buying one tomorrow :)

  • just bought one today, like it a lot id deffinetly recomend it

  • wow, the top comments are about the dude's accent instead of the actual amp.. amp sounds amazing, this is probably the next one I get.

  • i play metal and i want a good practise and a i dont know what to get, a roland cube or a peavy vypr, please help

  • @JwylieGuitar Cubes are probably better... although it all depends what you like, i know you say metal... but if you want tons of effects the vypyr is better... in my opinion, overall tone on the cube is better.. but all depends on you

  • @motley0crue12 thanks mate, im probs gonna go for a cube,

  • @JwylieGuitar No worries man. I would adviser you trying out the both first though just to make sure, but whichever one you get I don't think you'll be disappointed :)

  • @motley0crue12 cheers mate, will do, thanks for your help mate

  • Would anyone recommend the guitar he's playing with? =)

  • @ujbnvf not sure to be honest i've personally dont like the stratocaster series of guitar but it is made by ESP a good guitar brand if your just starting i would recomend something cheap and it also depends on what type of mussic you want to play but i reckon you can get better guitars such as (these are brands) ibanez , dean , fender ( if you want something similar to the guitar in the vid but better) you should look at guitar reviews

  • @MyBuRNingHoRIzoN Thanks, man! I've been playing guitar for 6 years, so I'm not a beginner. Right now I've got an Epiphone Les Paul Standard, but I want something more metal. I've been looking on some Ibanez guitars, but they've got so many models with floyd rose, and I feel that i wont use whammy bar so much, so it feels a little unnecessary.. But Ibanez also got some models without floyd rose, Jackson guitars are pretty nice too!

  • @ujbnvf define what metal you play cuz i cureently use a B.C Rich warlock it's a nifty guitar the body's overdone but has a good metal sound but also look up an ESP horizon its a pretty good guitar gud luck

  • @MyBuRNingHoRIzoN All right. I play classic heavy metal, rock and Lamb of god-metal, not sure what type of metal they play, but I would guess on death/groove metal :)

  • @jma111000 funny you should mention that, I'm wondering between this amp or the Vox Vt40+ can you possibly give an opinion on them both/ which is best?

  • sounds like hell

  • i find his accent extremly calming

  • Is this a good starter amplifier?

  • @comedybenj hell yes, and u can add a cabinate to it later, grab yourself a sanpara, and u can do back yard gig dood, this thing shreds, and its affordable

  • its where your amp buzzes like if u have it next to an old tv it will make a bzzzzz sound...thats what it is

  • can anyone tell me what the "feedback" means

  • @GuitarHockeyLife

hey:) feedback means that when you put your volume of the amp loud enough, the guitar catches the sound the amp makes and it amplifies it again, then goes trough the amps speaker and again into the guitar and again in the amp and so on....if you don't stop that thing the amp may broke.

  • he sounds like that judge from america got talent

  • Dude when people say you cant small gig with a 30w amp thats total BS, I have this amp and if you put the volume pass 3 it will like burst your ears and it goes up to 13 0_0

  • @Realrpg Im not even aloud to have mine past 1.

  • @Realrpg fukcing a dood, i love how u can have the damn thing barely at "1" and it doesnt loose its tone like other starter amps, u can totally throw down at 3 in the morning, lol.....and the highest ive put this thing at was in between 3 and 4 at the house

  • this amp would be a AMAZING upgrade my my B10 acoustic bass amp and my Boss Overdrive/Distortion 2 pedal >.> but i only need 100 more!

  • ?SUBTLE TUBE SCREAMER!? ahhah

  • Why are you even arguing about his accent? I was hoping to read some qualified comments about this amp, before I go out and buy it...

  • This guy is ruining the amp.

  • And another great amp that I prefer is the vox vt 20+ through vt 120+

  • 1 thing is missing here-delay

  • does the vypyr still run on tubes at this wattage?

  • i've always wondered.. do you need to warm up the amp before playing? i know you need to do that with tube amps but this is not so

  • @store1992 Nope. That's one of the good things about solid state amps - doesn't matter how you treat it, you'll get the same noise every time.

  • Let's keep the comments to the amp, etc.

  • Someone needs to go through puberty

  • own this amp it fuckin rocks buy it people i got a epi les paul plus top and this amp rocks makes mine sound just as good as a gibson and there are millions of sound options

  • Oh god this guy is giving this amp such a bad name. In reality it's actually a great sounding amp - clean distortion (kind of an oxymoron, but you get it.) and nice highs and lows.

  • open chords with distortion= MIND FUCK...in a bad way

  • my freind has a vypyr 15 and that thing is FUCKING confusion in an amp. it took him a year to get a hold of the thing, and he owns it!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @chepe371 that would be nice, ya

  • is this amp good for 80s metal like metallica or megadeth

  • @rhettanator2000 I ran across a guy who posted some nice earlier Metallica and a few Megadeth covers done with the Vypyr tube 60. Sounded pretty good to me.

  • FUCK YOU

  • Far too much treble, sounds like nothing on earth

  • play a fucking different riff at some point... thats god damn awful.... amps fucking amazing though

  • sorry but that amp sounds like shit.

  • Mine buzzes uncontrollably...sucks i bought it, it's a good amp, it just messed up on me.

    I need a new one i guess....

  • this amp is amazing, but you got to understand, this is the wrong guitar for this amp... his vintage strat makes this amp sound horrindus. If you hookup an ibanez, deans, schecters, its heaven.

  • @MrJJModern Dude, this is an ESP. I get your point though.

  • Why does that tube screamer sound like a high gain metal setting?

And I just hate reviews with vintage guitars...

  • is this amp good for classic rock?

  • @XburtonX147 no, get the mustang II for that... this guitar is great for rock, heavy rock, metal, etc... ive done night and day research on the line 6 spiders, peavey vypyr, and the mustang II... i am probably getting this one. mustang ii was a close second because of its versatillity.

  • please tell me the first seetings you use in the first sound

  • all i heard this whole review was that i could save alot of money by switching to geico. never knew that gecko's could play guitar.

  • @coolanand91 i tried the mustang and it's pretty awesome with all it's extras but the peavey is just more aggressive which in my opinion is the sound to get fender is still fender never made for metal peavey all the way but the mustang is still good

  • ..

  • Sounds just like an old Fender Tube Amp .. mostly caught between a 65' Super Reverb and a 64' Vibroverb ...but more exact to a Fender Vibro King ..yeah ..what a deal ..who knew Peavey could achieve this.

  • I have this amp and putting the triple x on distortion without a tube screamer does not sound like that, even with the tube screamer with it, it doesn't give off that much distortion

  • Nice to see someone has still got a sense of humor.Happy 2011.

  • sounds crap,

  • ive had my amp since last christmas its a vypyr 30 and its starting to sound too muffled on distortion and when i play on the classic clean setting it used to be super clean now its starting to get distorted and ive checked all my nobs on my guitar and amp and they are the same as they always have been can some one help me?

  • Comment removed

  • George Lynch guitars <3

    So fucking nice!!

  • I have 30W and if I turn the volume to 4-5 it satrts whistle, why?

  • @Tyskmetal You could be staying to close to the amp while playing it but also it can just be that your speaker cant handle the high volume mine works fine though

  • @Tyskmetal Perhaps your amp is whistling when you turn it up because its just really happy, I whistle when im happy :)

  • @scays1 haha! i can't whistle though! XD

  • I just bought it. Not bad. It definitely makes practice more enjoyable. It just takes a few hours to figure out because there is no manual but a lame cd rom. I bought the 30 watt for $199.

  • what name music 2:14

  • delay and reverb did fuck all here.

  • Peavey sucks, and this amp looks like batman style... awful. Good review.

  • @zzseba What kind of amp do you like then mate.Because im looking for one.

  • you sound like the narrator for that nature show. I hate his accent too. that's ok though no disrespect, i love this amp i own this same model. i had one problem but peavey made it right by getting me a new amp. :)

  • that is not a fender mustang dumbass, its an esp george lynch signature model

  • Vypyr. I am always going to guitarcenter and testing new amps and this thing rocks. It's loud as hell too.

  • Peavey Vypyr 30, Marshall MG 30, or Line 6 Spider IV 30 ??

  • @PsnJETLINER

    Fender Mustang II

  • @aLinuxTV

earlier i was fixed in my mind 4 d vyper coz line6 spiders, marshalls are too digital...Then i got to know about Fender Mustang 2(10watt more than the vyper), USB rec out, Fuse- presets editable software etc etc..

Now m in strong dilemma... What will u suggest? Mustang is gr8 but its compatible wid single tap foot-switch..

And wat bout d tone character b/w d two????

  • @coolanand91

goto gcaudiotrax com(slash)linuxkid for a MII sort'a d'emo ..but get a MIII not an MIII ..you'll love it ..Vipyr's suck the bag ..they look cool but sound like shite .

  • @PsnJETLINER Peavey, the MG sounds like a box of bees, and the Line 6 doesn't get good until the 120. Anything smaller from line 6 doesn't give you enough low end

    I've found.

  • I played a couple of these at Guitar Center. I could not turn off the delay. . even the guys at the store could not figure it out! I got frustrated and went on to a different amp!

  • @74LesPaul XD, I'm not sure if you had any other qualms with the amp, but turning off the delay is pretty simple...maybe if you went home, checked it out, and then went back, you could judge the amp on something that actually matters.

  • Between 0:46 and 1:19 I heard no difference in tone...

  • Great demonstration - Thanks

  • @ciadude2 ahh ok thanks! i own the Vox vt30 but i think ima change to the Vypyr instead, thanks again!

  • Vox Vt30 --OR-- Peavey Vypyr30 ??????

  • why do these review guys always have either a stratocaster model or lespaul?

  • Sounds very very poorly set up i have one of these and this is not a good advert for this amp i almost deafened myself listening to A) the way he has set this amp up and B) His gay voice.

  • How do you tune your guitar with this amp?

  • @GuitarMaster1829 Press and hold the amp selector switch, to put it into tuner mode, right where it says "hold for tuner" on the face plate. This is a crap demo, really. I can't think of a better one, but the Matthias Arp vids do a better job at demoing the diverse capability of this amp.

  • Line 6 spider IV or Peavey vypyr ?

Please anyone , help me D:

  • @freakincool01 Vypyr.

  • @freakincool01 Vypyr

  • @freakincool01 Peavey Vypyr all the way bro!

  • @freakincool01 both of them sound like crap. Just save some more money and buy a tube amp. You can get an awesome sounding peavey valveking 50w with almost the same price and it's way better than either of those

  • @drugdrunkker

    Wat about Fender Mustang 2(40W)

Same price. USB rec. out with Fender Fuse editable preset software, i mean a 'librarian'. Pls reply its urgent.. Thanx.. :)

  • Sounds shity, to much high's. This will fuck up your ears in no time. Try the vox vt for clasic stuff and the roland cube for the metal. Don't waste your money on this.

  • @mihaiad This recording is craptacular. One single pu's it can be a bit like razorblades in your ears. I use an SG and an LP on mine and it gives a much more useful and less ear-splitting tone. All depends on what you're into.

  • @mihaiad he has a strato caster model, they always have too much high's if you ask me. My friend has Esp eclipse with good guitar mics, and that sounds awesome with this amp

  • this accent is sickening..

  • OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG i might be getting that tomorrow

  • So does that mean that if it gets warm in due course of playing then there is a malfunction? I talked to a guy and he said that maybe the heat sink is stuck with the metal chases of the amp and that's why its heating up.

  • Does peavey vypyr 30 amp after playing for about an hour get hot at the amp?

  • @losmusicosparacristo This version is solid state but sounds like a tube amplifier so it doesn't need to get hot , they also make hybrid versions of the amp that might need to get hot.

  • @losmusicosparacristo yes, mine gets hot...i have a peavey studio pro that does not produce any heat at all,but the vypyr gets very hot..

  • i bought one of these and can't get any good sound from the distorted channels..kind wish i got the Roland Cube Amp,maybe i'll try some different pickups first..

  • @cruepage yea that's my problem just a bad guitar or pick-ups not really the amp

  • ...Subtle tubescreamer my ass

  • Thank for the review .. great accent too .. sounds like a PC GAME VOICE like agatha christie games or sherlock holmes game . you should work as a dubbing voice for game for extra money :)

  • this or Vox Vt-30.. which is better

  • Haha you sound like the average british man from my english-listening lessons haha :D

    jk, nice review :P

  • This brear sounds like a children's TV presenter. Truly hideous!

  • SEE THIS AMP:

    youtube.com/watch?v=YHfoON7ukSc

  • is this better than line6 spider valve ?

  • lol 0:31 to 0:33

  • this amp is not for heavy metal.that music is gay.and so is all of that scream-o crap.this amo does everything from rock to country to classical.

  • @spacemonkey12346789 this amp is fine for heavy metal, and im not telling you to like it, thats your opinion, but this amp is fine for heavy metal.

  • @spacemonkey12346789 Just because you don't like heavy metal doesn't make this amp good for metal. It's best for metal, not so much hardcore metal. You need a higher wattage for hardcore metal, and this is a pretty good amp for country and it is a bit above average for classical. This thing is amazing for rock though.

  • voice of the guy is best xDD

  • This is very likely the most annoying accent I've ever heard. Good review though.

  • @NewDuuDe its english man!

  • @WarLockGuitar169 It's an annoying English accent. There are English accents that are not annoying.

  • @FeralArtist me being engilsh, i have to agree. it peed me off a bit.

  • @NewDuuDe Stampboxas live hear, hear and hear. if you press thy effex buttn', yu entah edit mowd which allows you to yus theyse nobs to playa round wit' thi onboard diley and ryverb. Accent is so annoying...

  • @NewDuuDe Try living in small-town Texas. You think THIS accent is annoying...

  • @gwugluud Just because you aren't used to an accent doesn't mean it is annoying... Small-town country people happen to be very very generous and nice people unlike many city dwellers that don't acknowledge anyone.

  • @NewDuuDe it isn't an annoying accent, there are much worse accents, I would say this is pretty standard English.

  • Comment removed

  • @chepe371 I wasn't saying anyting about the Americans evidently so calm your shit please sir!

  • @nounever It's actually quite a nice English accent - you should hear mine lol.

  • @LeWolfgang I know I fucking am Nigerian and in Nigeria and I know.....NO! I live in fucking Maidstone I know all the accents I was saying it wasn't bad at all! Not Nigerian it is a joke no offence to any Nigerians I was using that as an example!

  • @nounever I was agreeing with you, no need to flame mate :P

  • @LeWolfgang okay..................alright we cool! this is getting silly now!

  • @nounever Okay :)

  • @nounever i refer to it as "fancy gay".

  • @DennChooch okay if that is fancy gay American accents are really fat twat.

  • @nounever haha nice one.

  • @NewDuuDe i couldnt stop laughing throughout this entire video because of your comment.

  • @NewDuuDe "And now watch carefully as the as the Wildebeest begin their mating rituals on the plains of the Serengeti"

  • @NewDuuDe its not the accent, its the annoying patronising tone he uses :P

  • I have a '94 Gibson Les Paul Standard and I'm looking for a good amp to play with my friend and maybe a high school talent show. Would this one be good? Please keep it under $400 if possible.

  • @xXMikeyLXx I'd try looking at craiglist and trying to find a used Peavey Classic 30. They're tube and have VERY nice tone.

  • in my opinion this amp is an epic fail. sold mine within a few weeks of having it :/

  • @porters94 In my experience it is a good amp but i don't know about the solid state versions i got The 120 Watt Tube Head With Some Greenbacks in my 4x12 Marshall cab. Dude i jizz man pant every time i crank it up.

  • @SR5127CL havent tryed the valve versions so they proberly do sound better but to my ears solid state vypyrs just sound way to digital :S

  • Will this be loud enough to hear over a drummer in a small/medium pub gig? i may either get this in 30 watt or line 6 spider IV in 75 watt which i get for 200 quid including the pedal thingy so some advice please?

  • is this amp digital?

  • @ihatelicorich If you mean solid state as opposed to tube, then yes.

  • Is it the demo or this amp really sound like shit?

  • @cowboytonydee its the demo this guy doesn't know how to demo or setup good tones... you can get some decent tones out of it and its a good practice amp or if you are just jamming with the buds but if you want to gig get the tube version or a different amp.... the main advantage of this amp is you dont have to buy a shit tone of pedals and this and that its all built right in

  • ive got an epiphone les paul standard, and i want to buy a new amp, i would go up to £200 and i have no idea which to get, either the roland cube 30x, marshall mg30fx, or this, btw.. im a huge Guns n roses fan, the 80's kinda sound, slahes tone... an advice?

  • @motley0crue12 the best amp is that peavey and vox vt30 is very good.

  • line 6 sucks, marshall mg's are ok, but the $2000 ones are the best, but the Vypyrs, holy shit thats awesome and its only like $300
